I don't drink coffee, so it doesn't matter to me. Diane does, though. She got a Hamilton Beach thing that has both a pot and a single cup area. It came with a stainless steel travel cup that fits in the cubbyhole for it. There's a little filter screen that goes above it, where she puts the coffee grounds and it makes just enough for that cup. When we have guests she uses the pot. It's a pretty nice thing. She got it as a thank you gift for so many years of service. I think every five years she got something. The last time she picked a nice wall art, and I hung it downstairs...she sees it every day because we walk right past it to get to our home theater area, where we eat supper every night. I hope to some day get an up-light for it. But that will mean getting an electrician to do some wiring. When I can do that, I'll have more than that installed.

I'd even welcome a murder of crows cawing and squawking instead.

I'll send a team of grackles. They'll eat the nailguns, the circular saws, AND the construction crew!! :bug: :gulp:

The Common Grackle is a cool looking bird. It has that irridescent blue/green or purple head. But they are mean...they scare off the other birds at the feeder and swarm and empty it out in a couple of days. And my feeder holds 20 pounds of seed, or so it says on the box. Sadly, I haven't filled it in several months...to save money. But I'll put seed in it when the winter sets in.

Couldn't get by without a coffee brew once or twice a day, lucky there is a barista or two in every second shopfront in our 'hood :)

Ok, here is the finished render of the lightblasted chapel, with ghost! I'm making a few mods to see what happens, then it's the volume camera, I think!

We got three trees in our garden and a couple of rivers nearby so with birdies by day and fruitbats by night the airspace is pretty busy

We have a pond across the street. In the early Spring the frogs coming alive is amazing...the chirping is so loud. There are bullfrogs, too. There are a few kinds of fish in the pond, I think trout or something like that, and catfish. When I was first here I saw a little tree that was in the water shake when one hit it. The pond isn't fed by streams, though. It was a retaining pond they filled when they were constructing the development. Somebody stocked it with some fish. It gets Mallards visiting and Canada Geese, and even a Great Blue Heron now and then. Once, I saw a Belted Kingfisher on the wires waiting, then it suddenly dove into the pond. That was the only time I saw one. I know we have bats around, too, one swooped by me when I was in the front garden in early evening once. And once when I was doing yardwork a Red Tailed Hawk swooped right by me...I felt the breeze and looked up and saw it go around the corner of the house.

Thanks! I'm happy with the lighting.. the ghost needs wild hair, and I think some volumetrics would add a nice touch, but I feel pretty happy. :cheese:

Quite unexpected, but I can find a use for that sort of thing. :vampire:

New render running, light intensity turned down to see what happens. There goes the evening... :blank: :blank:

A faster laptop is rapidly becoming more important than food. I can go 2-3 months on top ramen and hot dogs, I'm sure. :blank:

I miss the weekly freebie. Me being jobless and all, I loved getting something cool every week. I wish they'd gone to a monthly one like Renderosity instead of eliminating it completely. >:(
Hi, I noticed you were just passed over so I thought I'dd pop in. If your a PC member you do get a monthly freebe, it's mostly only posted in the Members Only forums but we do still get one. And as a PC member the weekly free items are fully free also. Not having a job probably puts that out of your reach. I feel for you as I started in your current situation and lived for the free items myself. You can check the FreePozatory Forum and see if any of the Free content listed in the many threads would help you out. Lot's of links to good stuff in there.

I also enlarged your text for easy reading.

Complaint: For the last few days my mouse will intermittently double click when I only single click. It's driving me nuts. If it happened every time I'd think it was a setting but it only happens randomly.

Time for a new mouse. That double click can cause problems, believe me.

    Dana
I had that happen, too. New mouse time. Seems like some buttons start sticking and register as multiple clicks.
Gaming and working in 3D are mouse-killers...they just wear out.
