It seems they are taking away allot of user control in the name of "simpler UI"

Okay, some angry googling found this:
    https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/bookmarks-manager/

Edited to add: if you roll back your Opera install, and go to dA, right-click in window and pick site preferences, it stops nagging at you when you select Network/Browser identification as "Identify as Firefox".

Edit edit: Apparently the angry, blood-thirsty howl of the fans has been heard and they are bringing the bookmarks back as top priority.

Who doesn't use favorites/bookmarks list?!? LMAO Ive never been on a computer that someone hadn't added their favorite sites to it . At least the voices have been heard and that its coming back. I think I'll roll back until Opera gets their act together.

Thanks for the help there Ski, I was baffled why I wasnt seeing anything you were telling me haha

I miss the weekly freebie. Me being jobless and all, I loved getting something cool every week. I wish they'd gone to a monthly one like Renderosity instead of eliminating it completely. :(

I hope I do not make my tea too strong by leaving the tea bags for a while or putting in a tea bag too many

i always leave the teabags in :)

i may have it backwards, but i think it's the english style tea yoo take the tea leaves out after steeping, french style tea yoo leave em in.

do yoo have a tea cozy?

when i finally get a brown betty, definitely wanna get a tea cozy for it.

Okay, so here's a summary of stuff.

    Complaints!

Moved my life back to home on Sunday. I was too tired to set up my desktop.

The weather changed from typical mid-August weather to mid-September weather without a warning. Which resulted...

On Monday, I got a major depressive fit, which further hampered my attempts to get back online. A friend of mine managed to coax me gently to get into action of setting it up. It took me five hours to finish a twenty minute job (twenty, because I had to clear my desk, otherwise five minutes).

This was followed by a discovery of either malfunctioning mouse or USB port. Moving mouse from one USB port to another brought it back online. This wasted thirty minutes of WTFing over it instead of just resigning and moving it from one port to another immediately.

Updated Open Office, only to discover that 4.0 bollocked MediaWiki exporter plugin, which meant that I had to roll back to 3.4.1; wasted an hour at 3:30 am (to 4:30 am) in an attempt to make the exporter work with 4.0.

Significant Otter returned from Lapland with a flu and is in process of transferring it to me. Already sniffling and coughing.

    Non-complaints!

I already had one major fit of depression on last Wednesday. I was curled up on my bed, sort of on verge of tears, eyes closed, when I felt a cold, wet poke on my cheek. Orcus had climbed over me (in stealth-mode, I never felt a thing), and was busy checking on what is going on with his servant hoomin. It is really, really hard to stay depressed, when there's a concerned kitty-face four inches away from your face, eyes wide like saucers, nose ready to poke again. Much cuddles and scritchies were given.

Right now I'm nomming on peach mochi, mazariner pastry, Dajm and jasmine tea. Sugary as heck, but so what.

    And now there's thunder.

welcome back. glad yoo feels better and it wasn't bronies that got ya!

The best British tea is made by using loose tea, not tea bags, a warmed teapot and fresh water at absolute boiling point as it is poured into the pot, which is then left for a few minutes before pouring through a tea strainer into the cup.

Yeah, I was pretty baffled as well! Jeeze! I like Opera's extreme tinkerability and I don't want to use IE, Chrome or Firefox, I don't like them!

They moved the Tuesday staff meeting up 1/2 an hour so I had to jump up, get dressed and call a cab before I had a chance to post the finished render! Argh argh argh! That's Complaint #1! :blank:

No other complaints yet.. looks like the test guys are happy with the product ode so it's going to the factory here and in China. More testing on the 4 other flavors will happen soon (lol). Boss has Plans For Me(tm) once everything else is done so looks like I'll be here long enough to save up move money, get a new laptop, etc. (heh)

Only going to hit 102F today... brrr! And I left my hoodie at home... :blank:

Back to unit testing my code.. gives me time to read! :P

The only thing I can think of is: Extrude out a few circular 'rows' from around the recessed oval (the one holding the button), then you'd have to slowly work out the polys from there to make the case...It should sub-divide better that way, at least.

My 2 bits, at any rate... :)

I'm one that doesn't really use favorites or bookmarks. In fact just a quick check in all the various browsers on my system shows that all still have whatever the defaults were and I had to search to find where the bookmarks were in Chrome.

Of course, I always figured I was in the minority on that since everyone else I know uses them. I do have to wonder what part of their user base they talked to that made them decide that bookmarks could be eliminated.

Oh, I take that back, just realized I do use bookmarks on my tablet and my phone since typing on those is so cumbersome.

    My complaint is:

My body has this AMAZING synergy with planet Earth...at least as far as thunderstorms during the night are concerned...I'll wake up, say, at 3:13am...JUST when the rumbling STARTS...

And I don't DARE fall asleep until the dang storm moves off, unless I want to be jolted by the requisite MASSIVE thunderclap JUUSSST as I nod off...

    But that's ME...! :)

According to one of the associated official blog posts, apparently they spoke with people like you who are totes the majority of Opera userbase. (There's a general perception that Opera is THE nerd-geek browser for those who love to tweak things.)

See? I have something like 1000+ bookmarks. In folders. Neatly arranged by topic, with subfolders used whenever needed. 'Cause I roll like that.

Imagine all of them dumped to speed dial system sans subfolders, which is one default page that opens when you press "new tab".

Which has thumbnails of the site as a press-this button.

Suddenly, speed dial goes from "speed" to "slow" dial.

Haha, Many thanks, I did fix it up since then theres no triangles in the mesh anymore, and the sub division flows exactly as intended now. I posted rendered images later on. All I need to do with it now is create alternate materials for when its illuminated and rig its mode dial :) Just working on too many other projects atm lol

It's not uncommon, for some reason. I have a serious desire for either chicken in black bean sauce, or sushi - and neither kind of food is close enough to reach and return during my lunch break! (cry cry)

There's a sushi place on the way home, but if I stop I have to wait an hour for the next bus, so I get home super-late. :blank: Thankfully there are 3 Chinese places at the OTHER end of the bus home, so weekend Chinese is easy to get!

Dang, I really want DEAD FISH ON A PLATE! (cry cry)

Sounds like you have acid reflux...official terminology is GIRD (Gastro-Intestinal Reflux Disorder). You should talk to your doctor about this. Untreated it can cause a lot of damage to your throat. I take omeprazole 20mg for it and have only had two or three incidents in the past decade. Some of the things that cause an incident are eating too late and going to sleep too soon afterward, drinking tea or anything with tannic acid before bed, overeating and going to bed still full. But the root cause is not the food, it's the failure of the "valve" in your throat that keeps the acids from coming back up. As we age it weakens. I don't know why it doesn't happen to everyone. There may be other factors involved.

Don't let it go, see a doctor about it.

I also take omeprazole 40mg. It helps quite a bit.

Actually, I've tried Opera about 10 times now and I've never been able to use it as my primary browser, it just doesn't work the way I think.

For me, having to drill down your neatly organized bookmark list would take me twice as long as just typing the name of the site. :)

I do see your point about having all of that organization just ignored and tossed on a single page with thumbnails, I'd never find what I was looking for that way.

You must not go to many sites. But...one little typo and you could end up on a malicious look-alike site. That could cause you a world of pain. Nobody is a perfect typist.
