Yes I have. The first hurdle would be the application fee.

Kulay, there are online classes you can take. Some are even free. For web design, you will probably need HTML, CSS, and PHP. Check out this:

    http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/career-management/best-programming-languages-to-learn-on-your-own-time/?ftag=TRE684d531&s_cid=e101&tag=nl.e101&ttag=e101

Might be something to think about. At least to see what it's like and if you would really like doing it.

    then 30-40 minute walk home.
no candy waiting for me at home.

    din-dins:
fresh spagett and fresh tomato and fresh mozz, canned olives, spritz of olive oil

dindin needs fresch canoli for dessert. or tiramisu.

Eegads! How far away from home do you work? :gulp:

iz a lil over 25 miles. but the great thing, i don't have to transfer to another bus. one bus all the way through :)

25 miles, and you still have to walk for 30 to 40 minutes? So the bus goes what, 15 miles? Wow. When I was working, it was about 35 miles and it took me an hour on a good day, but that's because of traffic on Rt. 24 and Rt. 128/95. But at least there was no walking involved, except from the house to the car and the garage to the building. I didn't work right in Boston proper, it was Metro West, so parking wasn't as bad...and they had their own multi-level parking garage. One hour on a good day, an hour and a half or more on a bad day. There were too many bad days. After I was laid off, I went to meet some of my co-workers for lunch now and then and it only took 35 minutes to get there.

DanaLOL! 15 miles, that means Misty can walk 10 miles in 30 mins? If the full 25 miles is considered. The average human walking speed is 3.1 miles a hour, that means Misty's 30 min walk is at 31. 0 miles per hour. That's a pretty darn good running clip and I don't think many folks can maintain that speed for 30 mins. I'm pretty sure Misty walks closer to the normal speed, maybe a little bit under which I calculate to closer to 3/4's of a mile daily for her walk. I'm disabled and on a cane. I can walk to my one local store, which is so darn close to exactly 1/2 mile away the bit does not matter, in 45-50 mins. It wears me to a nub to do so but I can do it at a steady pace. I need a ride home then too but I can get there.

If Misty does do 10 miles in 30 mins I vote we all get together and support her for the next few years so she can dedicate all her time to training for the Next Summer Olympics. We have a Gold medalist right here with us in the forums. YEAH!

The background will eventually go and be replaced with real scenery, this is a very WIP thing. I use the background for inspiration... ;-)

    And no TOS-violating boobage! :cheese:

Is it true that carrots are good for eyes?

Carrots ate good for a lot of body parts - carrots contain beta carotene, whi ch the body converts into Vitamin A, which is good for the eyes.

Carotene makes the colour orange, but is not in oranges, which is confusing

That's an old wives' tale. Never put carrots in your eyes.

I hope I don't jinx it by saying anything, because it really isn't over yet, but it has been a surprisingly mild summer here as well. It never really climbed into the triple digits for a week or more this year, which is a cause for celebration in my book.

It has been dangerously dry nevertheless and there have been several forest fire scares that have had me outside watching the helicopters and fire bombers circling low overhead. It seems we have one or more arsonists in the area. I believe they caught one, but still I keep a close eye on the horizon and sniff the air for that certain smell of smoke, that differs from the smell of the neighbor starting up his barbie.

    Know that feeling well.

Ummm...your math-fu is not good. 30 to 40 minutes to go one mile? Nope, not 6.2 mph. At that speed she'd get about a mile in ten minutes. I was not aware of the average walking speed of a human. When I walked to high school, that was about a mile and a half and I think I did that in about 20 or 25 minutes. Then again, until I was about 19, I walked everywhere, all the time, in all weather...when I was young, it was often with grocery bags in both arms. And Fall River, MA, is a hilly city.

DanaI blame the meds... that's my story and I'm sticking to it. And I hunted the Average on the web. We all know the rules for that, in one ear out the other. Was going for funny... but I missed the mark. No Olympic medal for me it seems.
