20 minutes to go home time. yayy.
then 20 - 40 minutes wait at the bus stop.
    then 60 - 70 minute bus ride
    then 30-40 minute walk home.
no candy waiting for me at home.

    din-dins:
fresh spagett and fresh tomato and fresh mozz, canned olives, spritz of olive oil

dindin needs fresch canoli for dessert. or tiramisu.

Eegads! How far away from home do you work? :gulp:

    Dana

iz a lil over 25 miles. but the great thing, i don't have to transfer to another bus. one bus all the way through :)

25 miles, and you still have to walk for 30 to 40 minutes? So the bus goes what, 15 miles? Wow. When I was working, it was about 35 miles and it took me an hour on a good day, but that's because of traffic on Rt. 24 and Rt. 128/95. But at least there was no walking involved, except from the house to the car and the garage to the building. I didn't work right in Boston proper, it was Metro West, so parking wasn't as bad...and they had their own multi-level parking garage. One hour on a good day, an hour and a half or more on a bad day. There were too many bad days. After I was laid off, I went to meet some of my co-workers for lunch now and then and it only took 35 minutes to get there.

DanaLOL! 15 miles, that means Misty can walk 10 miles in 30 mins? If the full 25 miles is considered. The average human walking speed is 3.1 miles a hour, that means Misty's 30 min walk is at 31. 0 miles per hour. That's a pretty darn good running clip and I don't think many folks can maintain that speed for 30 mins. I'm pretty sure Misty walks closer to the normal speed, maybe a little bit under which I calculate to closer to 3/4's of a mile daily for her walk. I'm disabled and on a cane. I can walk to my one local store, which is so darn close to exactly 1/2 mile away the bit does not matter, in 45-50 mins. It wears me to a nub to do so but I can do it at a steady pace. I need a ride home then too but I can get there.

If Misty does do 10 miles in 30 mins I vote we all get together and support her for the next few years so she can dedicate all her time to training for the Next Summer Olympics. We have a Gold medalist right here with us in the forums. YEAH!
...still doesn't mean much as long as the bus service basically sucks.

Where I am, I'm not about to pay our transit commission 100$ a month to stand around and wait 25 to 30 (or more) minutes for a bus connection when they toss 1.6$ billion out to build a new 7 mile long light rail line that most people (even those it is supposed to serve) don't want, which in turn will result in even more bus service cuts system wide to pay to run the new trains.

ROTFLMAO!! I'm not sure if the Squid is a sucker for the Golden Gate or if the Golden Gate is a sucker for the Squid.

    Pun intended.

I had a dream that there was a wedding invitation for someone who goes by the initials TJ and someone else. Not sure if TJ is the guy or the gal. Well on the bottom of the invite said the name Dana.

Maybe TJ was marrying Dana???? Who knows

Yes, actually - she was the inspiration for the flying guts monster! Ran into her back in my D&D days, and then I saw the disembodied intestines.. well.. it just seemed so natural to try to make one!

    The Girl 6. :blank:

Soooooo tempted to short my grocery money and get me some Girl 6 lovin'. :blank:

But I don't even use The Girl 4 that much. :blank:

In the world of musicians, there's a thing called G.A.S. - Gear Acquisition Syndrome - in which you find yourself lusting after, and purchasing, shiny new instruments, amps, effects, etc. - with zero need for any of it. You end up with thousands of dollars in guitars, basses, keyboards, amps, effects.. most of which you never use.

I think my desire for new 3D models is the equivalent of G.A.S. - I want want want, then rarely use. :blank:

I do The Girl renders because she's sex in harem pants.. :red: can't post 'em because she's topless. :red: I've done one Girl 4 render. :blank:

I'd probably never use her in anything meaningful.. but I still lust for her! (cry cry)

I am exactly the same, Wooly - I've got thousands invested in this hobby. I love rendering, but objectively it doesn't justify the money I've put into it so far. It's so easy to just make a purchase and download, even if I'll never use it. Sale? Sold!

Very difficult curbing that desire. At least I've already picked up most of the things I want now, so the temptation isn't so great.

I love Monk and I'm disappointed that I didn't catch the reference until you pointed it out. I thought it sounded familiar though so maybe that's something.

     :ahhh:

I used to do the music gear thing.. then I quit guitar, stared just dong composition.. then, after making music for 35+ years, I just.. stopped. :blank: No desire or inspiration to play music any more. Very odd, but I started saving money..

..until 3D. Now, that's where the G.A.S. urge goes. I can even kind of justify it - I want to make illustrations for my stories! But dang, the money I've dumped into this just for "personal delight".

It could be worse, I guess. 3D stuff is still cheaper than exotic cars, drugs.. but costs more than strippers... :ahhh: :ahhh:

You know I was never interested in The Girl but this new version is really nice with an almost golden age of Hollywood starlet look. Someone said she reminded them of Jessica Rabbit and I can easily see that but she can look much more realistic now so you can really do some Hollywood glamor shots.
