I got the Girl 4 because it looked like there was hope of her looking at least somewhat realistic. But I never used her yet. Of course, I haven't used much of anything yet, by comparison to what I have.

As for musical instruments, I've had my share. Back in the late 70s I had a Christian band, and I bought a lot of the equipment. At one point I owned an ElectroVoice Century IV A speaker system, Peavey 100 Watt x 2 stereo PA mixer/amplifier (into 8 ohms, 200 W/channel into 4 ohms), a couple of Beyer Dynamic M500 microphones, one Senheizer pistol grip mic (a high end one that I'm sure you've seen). I used to see the same issue with that mic when I saw it in music videos...the pistol mount had tape wrapped around it. There must have been a defect in the design, it always broke! I also had a nice Slingerland drum kit, and added a Paiste 2001 series medium ride symbal (silver mixed in the brass...it rang forever! so sweet), a Roland Juno 60 synthesizer, Fender Rhodes 88, Latin Percussion bongos, Latin Percussion double strung chimes, a Roland Space Echo (really nice unit). This was all besides my own guitars and amps. I sold the drum kit and the PA stuff. I still have the microphones, the Roland, the Rhodes 88, the bongos and chimes and Paiste symbal, and the Space Echo. Plus my guitars and amps and effects (not many guitar effects...Electric Mistress flanger, Boss Blues Driver, Vox WahWah)

    Obsessive/compulsive? Maybe a little.

    The Girl 6. :blank:

Soooooo tempted to short my grocery money and get me some Girl 6 lovin'. :blank:

But I don't even use The Girl 4 that much. :blank:

In the world of musicians, there's a thing called G.A.S. - Gear Acquisition Syndrome - in which you find yourself lusting after, and purchasing, shiny new instruments, amps, effects, etc. - with zero need for any of it. You end up with thousands of dollars in guitars, basses, keyboards, amps, effects.. most of which you never use.

I think my desire for new 3D models is the equivalent of G.A.S. - I want want want, then rarely use. :blank:

I do The Girl renders because she's sex in harem pants.. :red: can't post 'em because she's topless. :red: I've done one Girl 4 render. :blank:

I'd probably never use her in anything meaningful.. but I still lust for her! (cry cry)

*slaps self with inflatable trout* Get a grip, loach!

You know I was never interested in The Girl but this new version is really nice with an almost golden age of Hollywood starlet look. Someone said she reminded them of Jessica Rabbit and I can easily see that but she can look much more realistic now so you can really do some Hollywood glamor shots.

Yeah - she impresses me as a perfect 50's-girl for classic pinups, movie stars, and such.

Hell, I have a fridge full of food - and get paid again next Wednesday. Girl 6 Pro bundle, here I come! :ahhh: (cry cry cry)

I bet sh'e look HOT being chased by Mock's Creeping Brain!!! :vampire:

Sigh.. Girl 6 Pro Bundle, Glute Control for G2F, and Growing Up.. broke now..

..at least I can just get the V6 Starter Bundle now, since the G2F Gens came with the Gril 6 Pro bundle.. :blank:

At the peak of my music life, I owned an Ibanez Artist EQ six-string, a Fender Precision bass, Sunn beta Lead 2x12 100W amp, Gallien-Kruger bass head, 1x15 bass cab with a Celestion speaker, Peavey 12 channel board, pile of Boss pedals, Teac 4-track reel-to-reel, a couple of SM58s, an Oberheim drum machine (one of the first), a Roland U-20, and a pile of bits and bobs. My wife at the time, who was a singer/guitarist, owned a BC Rich Bich doubleneck (!!), BC Rich Mockingbird Supreme, and an armys worth of Boss pedals. :blank: :blank: She went to recording school for a year an we did a few demo songs, but it never went anywhere.

Needless to say, moving was a serious pain in the butt as tearing down and moving the studio was an all-day affair. :blank:

At least now when I move, the whole 3D art studio is on the laptop and it's not a painful tear-down/rebuild situation.. just shut the lid and go.

I have an old violin style bass guitar...the brand name of which I've forgotten yet again! It's really nice, though. I learned on that and later got (and still have) a Music Man Sabre II bass, with active circuitry, Peavy Mark IV bass amp (nice dual channel setup, with a pedal that lets you switch between the channels and also mix them) with EQ. You can set up a really deep deep sound in one channel, and a trebly funky sound in the other, and switch or mix them. Big folded horn cabinet with an 18" speaker in it. A Guild F80 acoustic guitar, really nice fat sound. A Gibson SG Custom, walnut with gold hardware, three full humbucking pickups, double sided pick guard. Serial number on that is pretty old. Gibson didn't keep good records back then, but they say it was built between 1965 and 1969. A G&L Legacy Special with blade pickups. This is a nice Strat style guitar. G&L was Leo Fender's last company. A Mesa Boogie Rocket 44 guitar amp, really nice sound. I also have a Germeinhardt solid silver flute. I picked that up in the early 70s. My friend, a virtuoso, showed me the proper fingering and how to blow into it. I taught myself Jethro Tull's Bouret from the Stand-Up album, BS&T's Sometimes in Winter and Variations on a Theme. Right now I'd probably pass out if I tried to play it! I also have a trumpet. I got a little out of that, played a little of When The Saints Come Marching. but it was difficult to play because of my partial denture. For many years I got the urge to try something new every now and then. I started on drums. I knew enough of each instrument that once, at a church I attended, there was a vocal group that sang to backup tapes (the music without any vocals). There was an Andre Crouch song they wanted to do, but couldn't find the backup for it anywhere. I knew the song, and the sound man for the church had a 4 track recorder. So I went in on a couple of Saturdays and laid down all the tracks...guitar, bass, piano, violins on the Roland, drums. They loved it, and it was a lot of fun to do.

Gotta go do vacation stuff now.

i'm holding out for Aiko 6.

i've rendered Aiko 5 once, fussed for hours with rendering her hair in DS, then discovered it was supposed to render like it did. traumatized.

Game of Thrones is a kick ass show. I can't wait till the new season comes out. The one thing I have to warn is there is a LOT of nudity and don't route for anyone. They will end up dead.

Tomorrow is finally Friday, and the boss is out all afternoon so.. slacking time! :smirk:

This week is sure dragging here, urgh. And no rain, we could sure use it.

Non-complaint: I feel like I got my money's worth with the Girl 6 Pro bundle. Tons of content I can use with G2F, next up will be the Vicky 6 Starter Bundle, then the Gia Starter Bundle.

Then I'll be broke and have to quit. But it's a good excuse to stay home, write, and render! :cheese:

I saw an interview with George RR Martin after the "wedding" episode and he said something like:

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one.

I think that combo says something about the person at Daz that comes up with these, not sure what though.

    "Young Love"

Nice image. But I fear the young Goth will be disappointed. I don't think cheerleaders normally hang with Goths. Different crowd. Of course, I may be wrong. But, you know...I'm not. 'Cause it's a jungle out there.

I guess nobody got my reference. Has anyone ever watched Monk?

    Dana
I never did, but my brother is a fan. I've never heard anyone else mention the show. So that's uh...at least 2 people, counting you. :)
...used to watch it when I still had a telly.

...had to backtrack a few pages as the bots missed the target and only gave me the last two pages.

The Flying Guts monster looks so creepy, I like it. Maybe it could be chasing Girl6?

Goth and Cheerleaders? In this day & age, anything is possible.

Just finished a new pic, but not sure if I want to post it. Nothing that breaks TOS, but feel it might make a good challenge entry and because of that it can't be shown anywhere else (though I've seen a couple submissions to this month's PC Challenge in another thread).

Girl6 is definitely going to be the victim! :vampire: I just need to decide if it's going to attack her outside a diner or at the drive-in. It's a tough call! :gulp:

...as to instruments, only owned a Violin, Guitar, Clarinet, and Recorder.

However, performed on various pianos including a 1928 Steinway D model (with ivory keys), Bösendorfer Imperial 290 (with 96 keys), Challis and Hubbard Harpsichords, Hammond B-3 (with Leslie cabinet), Moller and Barton Cinema Organs, and numerous classical pipe organs from single keyboard positif to to an actual hand pumped organ (pipe not reed) from the late 1800s, to the massive 5 Keyboard 10,000+ pipe EM Skinner instrument at Riverside Cathedral. If I owned all those, I'd need the government warehouse seen at the end of a certain film to store them all.

Still, I want that Virtual Organ workstation I posted a pic of a while back
