There was another Gothic church, cathedral Notre Dame de Lourdes, but it burned down in the 70s or 80s, I can't remember for sure. I think it was in the 70s. It was a big deal. I actually was in the neighborhood and everyone went out to watch it burn. People were crying. Nope, just checked, 1982. Here is a YouTube video I found about it. There are a couple others on that page.

...sad end for such a beautiful structure. indeed, many gave what they could from their meager earnings to help build it. It must have been magnificent to see on a sunny summer day after it was completed (before the copper cladding on the bell towers oxidised).

Here is a WIP on a scene I am working on. The lights are not the ones I want but putting lights in make the render take longer.

    forgot to attach render
...nice start. a little fog effect would help.

Nerd 3D's fog tool would be the best but it seriously impacts render time.

Do you have AoA's Atmospheric Cameras? The fog camera doesn't affect render time. Another option would be to use one of Jepe's SteamZ full steam planes in front of the camera and turn the opacity down to around 10%. This also would not increase render time.

    kewl! she had tatts.

i started a Halloween render thread, but so far only one person seemed interested. maybe cuz there's no prizes.

it was a nice glowy render, i don't know how to do that in poser. the advance ambient thingee for DS seems fun.

...working on one for the RRRR Challenge that had taken on a Halloween-like style.

It was something. I didn't see it often, as I lived on the other side of the city. I didn't have a car until I was out of high school, I walked everywhere until then, unless I got a ride from someone. I walked to high school every day, a couple of miles...down some hills, up others...rain, snow, ice. My legs were in good shape, anyway. I didn't have the same interest in architecture that I do now, well not as strongly maybe is what I should say.

...well still haven't heard from the State Labour Office or Human Services. Been just over a week now. Tried calling the Labour office yesterday only to be put on hold wasting thirty minutes of my airtime (Finally have a phone that someone gave me and got on a cheap prepaid plan).

What makes matters tougher, in my former hometown (Milwaukee, WI) newspaper (the one here in Portland seems to only focus on local crime issues) I read that if this shutdown goes another seven days that Federal food card benefits will be affected resulting in a suspension of benefits starting next month. This makes me concerned that UC benefits might be next.

Even if someone hired me tomorrow, I wouldn't see a paycheque for three to four weeks (depending on the pay period and frequency) and once you are hired (not when you receive your first cheque) your UC claim ends.

Getting more than a bit worried.

Account has dwindled to barely enough for maybe a couple weeks of groceries left and that will be it. Put in a lot of apps and resume submissions the last several weeks but still no solid offers. All I seem to get are email offers for insurance and commission sales positions, something I definitely am not cut out for.

Most office temp work is either front desk secretary/reception (which I do not fit the "look" for) or data entry which requires a keystroke rate far beyond what my stiff hands and fingers can accomplish. The only other temp work here is common labour which also is pretty much out due to my arthritis because it usually involves heavy lifting, strenuous physical tasks, and/or being on the feet all day.

Am going to reprint the PDF food assistance application I filled out and will have to go back down to the DHS centre tomorrow morning. Not sure what to do about contacting the Labour office as I only have 500 min (per month, well now about 430) on my calling plan and cannot afford to spend 45 min to an hour of it sitting on hold. May try to find a pay phone (a rare sight these days) as it will effectively be cheaper to spend the 1$ as an hour using my phone would effectively cost me around 7.

I need that "karmic break" TJohn mentioned was due to happen soon...

..and not "Daz soon" for that will be too late.

    ...apologies for the downer.

...I was the same way with classical music when I was an exchange student in Germany back in the early 70s. Saw and toured a number of old churches and cathedrals back then.

    ...thank you.

...and as if I don;t enough concerns to deal with, jsut a few moments ago the workstation froze up while I was in FF. Had to do a hard reset thus losing all the work I did on a scene that was open at the time. No blue screen, no crash dump, no warnings,

I am getting really tired of nothing going right.

My art is about all I have left to keep me from going over the edge, but now it seems some kind of stupid ongoing conflict that I have no idea of how to deal with anymore wants to take that away as well.

...I'm about ready to give up.

Free fish in 3DS format from Toucan http://www.toucan.co.jp/3DCG/3ds/FishModelsE.html and PoseRay to convert them to obj format. https://sites.google.com/site/poseray/

That sound unpleasant. Perhaps if you ran an installer it might ask to uninstall a previous version?

I have both C8.1 & C8.5 for various reasons, backwards compatibility being one of them
the different splashscreens identify which is in use, the version is on the desktop icon and they do not share presets etc
you can try reinstalling from DIM then running the uninstaller on the version you want to lose.

Complaint: Why they keep updating products that 'work'? And no explanation as to 'what' was changed. Is rather annoying, I WANT to know what they change before DL'ing. It seems the 'updated genesis things to be aware of thread' was abandoned too XD I was always told "If something don't need fixing, don't fix it" Which makes me stand-offish lol

G2F Starter essentials was updated, does anyone happen to know what was changed in it? I wasn't aware of any issues, other then the surface names (which probs isn't even considered an 'issue' by daz anyway)

    End passive rant :P
