Entry #1 - Surrender Maria?  Who is Maria?  The Wizard will Know.

How much post work is allowed?  Here is my first true render, warts and all.

The materials applied to some of the side buildings are from a David Brinnen materials set.  Sky is a preset.  Everything modeled in Carrara or Hexagon.

EDIT:  I made some mior fixes in an image editor and swapped out the attached image.

@ Diomede_Carrara: Convincing Metropolis. Maybe a alpha plane with a scratched film texture would add to the vintage look. The rules are on page 1.

  • @ mtnmen: Thank you.
Getting Ready for a Hot Date! - Make Up on Robots? What a brilliant idea and well done.

@ Jamahoney: Brilliant idea and well done.

@ Tim82: Nano Robot - Wonderful light and a nightmare for me. Real mosquitoes are enough for me, please do not ask any of them from Metal, I can not kill them anymore.

@ Hansmar: Working robot on the farm - threateningly close to what can come. Very good idea.

@ S Ray: Sweet the robot. Lonely in no man's land - you almost feel sorry for him.

@ Henryhor: The offering - scary but fantastic. The story of the picture makes you curious.

@ adbc: Very nice space scene. Could be a book cover.

    @ Diomede_Carrara: Thank you.
Your first entry is great. It conveys this charming feeling of Metropolis.

Diomede_Carrara : Very well made metropolis.

@ drachenlords: thanks. Could be the same story like the one on that pic:

Diomede_Carrara - cool idea to get attention with the trailing flag. The plane is loud enough so everybody is looking up and sees the message. Great modeling job, too.

    Cheers, Drachenlords :)

    Great concept, Diomede_Carrara.

My second entry: "In a tight spot".

Robots are the rubble outside the cave are freebies. The skeleton is from Poser. The big caveand the rock are by Northern Studios. The fire/smoke is a 2D face with a texture.

I used various lights in this one.

@ Hansmar: this cave looks indeed like a trap. Like the autumnal palette.

Hansmar - tight spot indeed. Well done scene.

Nice one, Hansmar, the skeleton hasn't a chance, but BB-8, I'd say, is well able to handle the threat.

Hansmar - unusual idea, superb render

  • DiomedeDiomede Posts: 15,169

Thank you for the comments, Henryhor, Horo, Jamahoney, Drachenlords, Adbc, Mermaid, and Hansmar.  I take it I can fix some of the errors with postwork as long as I don't go overboard.  I will probably swap out that image before the deadline.

Hansmar, looks like they are caught between a rock and a hard space.  Good one.

Henryhor, Horo, Jamahoney, adbc, mermaid, Diomede_Carrara, mtnmen: Thanks so much. The volcano, by the way is actually a pile of burning rubble. But, indeed, it looks like a volcano from here!

Henryhor: They do not stand a chance against these mutineers! Great render.

    My third render: “Robot recycling”.

The 3C-PO lookalikes and parts were made by me in Hexagon. BB8 (and its parts) was a freebie and so the factory robots. Factoryrobots from DAZ, just like Aiko3 with robot texture. The (dis)assembly line was a freebie and the hall is Level 19 by DAZ.

Several lights (some sphere lights and spot lights) to light the building.

@ mtnmen: wonder if there's an intelligent life form on this planet. Very well done.

@ Jamahoney: "he" certainly has the same machine oil than the others in his veins. Fun idea.
