I love that render Betsy...the three old cars at the gas station. The only thing I would have done differently is the ocean background just doesn't go with it at all. Maybe a city block or some trees from a neighborhood. Just doesn't look right, maybe it's the angle or something, too bright. Too close to the rocks and water, would be sinking into the marsh there.

    :-)

It doubles as a bait and tackle shop too!

I grew up around lake Texoma and saw lot's gas station bait house combos like that some even had docks and a combination of fuel pumps newer and older cars tended to be mostly from the 50's and early sixties but the old fuel pumps were everywhere around the lake even up to the 70's

I'm trying to figure out how to get snow and icicles to hang off the truck and trailer.

Perhaps a dynamic cloth object draped strategically over the side with a ice/snow texture?

and one more.. Picked up the "Motorbike ZAZ' the other day - was delighted to see it, as its based on one of my favorite custom bikes, a streamliner based on a 1930 Henderson KJ.. (pic of the original, followed by the DAZ versions)

That could work, however, I'm thinking more along the lines of having the snow and ice kicked up underneath the tractor and trailer, it does hang there, I used to drive a truck, driven through plenty of slushy snow, it does kick up underneath and sticks itself to the underside, does the same thing on cars too!

Heh.. don;t I know that... living up here in the Great White North, no stranger to snow.. had 28CM over three days last week.. all gione now, but a reminder that winter isn't too far off..

Could you send some down here to Florida? Its been awfully hot lately!

would love too, sadly I'm not sure it would survive mailing it...

Was thiking on your slush question - in Bryce I would create terrain objects, that were long and thin, assign a snow texture, flip 180 degrees and then place on the bottom of the model as needed.. Icicles, same idea, only using a 2d plane with an appropriate image as a texture..
Will have to try that and see if it works..

Now that sounds like an idea, of course putting a little snow on top would be fine too, but you know as well as I do, as the truck rolls down the highway, the snow on top of the trailer will be blown off in short order by the wind, however, for vehicles that have been parked and snowed on!

Proof of concept, no proper texturing....... This sort of what you are looking for?

Okay, yeah, maybe I can find some decent snow and ice textures to use on them.

Ok.. well.. here's the icicle texture for a plane primitive... use in diffuse and opacity channels..
