Okay then, but couldn't the store leave "back issues" available. At least one or two deep?

I'm only a Forum Admin, I have zero to do with what DAZ 3D does or does not do. I just DL all the versions and keep backups. But that has always been my practice.

uh huh. So do I ... finding them can be a challenge. But you see, when one buys a plug-in "today" for an earlier edition, they won't work. It would be nice if the earlier edition files were also available. Not like they didn't already have them or something. Just my 2 cents. I have a few items in my shopping cart just sitting there. I don't know if new content is going to work anymore. If a morph or a HD morph 'made today' for the latest and greatest doesn't work in yesterday's news ... would like to know that before tying up monies and wasting everybody's [and my] time.

Going back OT, spring cleaning about to start ... packing up of the hallway didn't happen today ... so possibly now not 'til after the holidays. However by then might also have some other section(s) done ... although I suspect everybody has a bridge or 500 by now.

eBay is an interesting place ... they've got hurricane fog/smoke pro machine even. So much stuff nobody would have ever dreamed of needing. When I saw the ad for the fog machine, I thought of that scene where Scotty gets framed for some mishaps on some planet where they were supposed to be relaxing. Somehow though, think my neighbours would have a fit that's truly out of this world if they saw smoke coming from my apt. Hmmm .... nononono .... {excuse me while I go check if they'll ship to where I be}.

This is the big problem I have with Poser. Once the newest version tastes your work files, you can't go back to the previous version.Instead of just generally updating and fixing whatever bugs there are, it seems like they go out of their way to totally re-write the program.

Must be the nature of the beast I guess. Reminds me of plumbing. The phrase of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" comes from plumbing. Anytime [or so it seems] one goes to "fix" one pipe, sure shooting that another pipe will break.

Actually that is not true. I know there is a way to save Pz3 files so they work in older versions. I have purchases sets created in newer versions that have Pz3 files that state they work in Poser 6+. Do a search and I am sure you will be able to find out how you can do that. I know I can set up the mat files I make to work in Poser 6 and up. I am sure you can ask some of the PA's and they would be willing to help you out or point you into the right direction for the software you need to modify Pz3 files.

I have found and used models for P5 and P4 in P6 and up. But my problem is, scene files and libraries. once they've been used by the newer programs, you can't use them in older versions.

OK are you talking about a modified Pz3 (Scene file) or one that hasn't been changed? I know I can take any of the of the purchased Pz3 files that I haven't saved over in an older program. Now unless you did something to the file like saving over it, or if it was started in say Poser Pro 2014 and you used weight mapping on a character then you are right it wouldn't work in say Poser Pro 2012. Like I said in a previous post to you. If you find a program that you can open and alter Pz3 files you should be able to change what programs open your scene file.

Can't help you with the hair but take a look at PhilC's site he has a PZ3 editor that might help you http://www.philc.net/PZ3editor.php hopefully they don't delete the link since it is for Poser instead of DS and is here to help instead of advertise.

I bought those when they were first released and as I recall the hairs for M4 and V4 are "normal". Those have nothing to do with Genesis.
[hopefully that hasn't changed ...]. I'll be firing up the main computer in a few minutes so I'll double check that.

In the meantime, found this over at sharecg.com:
http://www.sharecg.com/v/73466/related/5/3D-Model/Goatee There is only an .obj file with readme and .png file.

Okay. I have the M3 beard, so I'm okay on that front if I can get it to show up solid enough. It's coming up a little more transparent than I like right now.

Both of those hairs are in Poser format, no vacuum cleaners required.
