    And to add some colour for any of all those monitors, Yes! The universe can be created "in a cube" ... of course it took a lot of computers, etc.

    Enjoy:

    Those pics were done in Poser 9 using M4 and his Urban Wear. The complete suit will be seen in my upcoming graphic novel.
    Thanks Bluto!! :-)

    Greetings all - my first post here, humbly chiming in for this - I have a starship that needs some security personnel, in preparation for her launch sometime later this year. This would be greatly appreciated and, of course, full credit will always be gladly given. Superb work, Bluto. :D

    PS: Apologies if this first post is in bad form - I'm new at this although I've been a Carrara user since back in the days of Ray Dream Studio. And I'm definitely also as new to Daz Studio as I am to these forums, but I'm eager to learn and appreciative of all help and advice.

    stlegends, you've come to the right place for both help and advice. Be sure to check out our freebie list at the start of the thread. If you're doing a comic or an animated film, you'll find what you need there. If you don't, just ask and someone will know where to find it or how to make it.

    Welcome Stlegends This is a great thread for all things Star Trek to include the Mirror Universe and the new Generation Beyond that we are launching to show Star Trek after the David Mack Desteny novels. As Bruffy said there is a huge list of freebies on the front page that is broken down into groups to aid in searching. If you know of a freebie that isn't listed please fee free to post it here and we add it to the list.

    Thanks for the welcome. I've been lurking for a while on the forums, just reading and learning - lots of great threads here, for Daz, Carrara, and great advice on 3D web comics as well. There's still a long way to go, but just as a humble token of appreciation for the people here, below is the first preview image for the entire project:

    If it's got good old Harry in it. It's gotta be good.

    I look forward to seeing more.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    And now for something different.....
    Okay, it's my fault, well...I'll take the blame somewhat, since a computer is only as good as it's user.
    But I've had an epic dual system reset. (both computers went down hard!)
    I've lost everything for my graphic novels (5 Star Trek novels in progress)
    All that's left is what I had backed up to external hard drives for the stories.
    But the characters, the morphs, the setup's and all...are gone. (those outfits I made recently, no Photoshop templates..they are gone. the custom morphs of each character...gone. Those special made brushes in Photoshop...gone. and the entire DAZ Runtime...wiped.
    So why get upset? It does nothing but make matters worse.
    So...I'm taking this time to do something that should have happened a while ago.
    I'm rebuilding my entire runtime (5 years of worth) to something that may help me with future images and graphic novels.
    Wish me luck...or may the force...oops wrong thread....live long and prosper.
    DAMN THIS IS GONNA BE FUN!
    Ouch. You have my sympathy.
    Last year the hard drive in my parent's computer went down and took four years worth of family photos with it. Fortunately, we found a data recovery service(Data Doctors). It did take over two weeks and cost over $900, but they did recover the entire hard drive. Considering how much you had, it might be worth it.
    My sympathies I know how hard and frustrating it can be Back on Dec 20 2012 I lost everything to an apartment fire and that included my backups for 8 computers Been dealing with Poser since version 1 and I even had some really old 3d programs that used nothing but keyboard commands and you had to define every point xyz by keyboard
    You use characters that appear on a regular basis like I do. can't you go back to earlier work files and rebuild from those? I know when my first hard drive died, I didn't know if Nova Trek would continue or not till I got to digging in my storage DVDs found earlier work files from other stories. I was able to rebuild alot faster from those.
    Nah. Seriously. nah!
    I'm buidling from scratch buddy! And loving it!
    All those glitches and hanger-ups that tend to fill our runtimes or even characters is gone!
    My gosh is this computer fast again!
    Plus on the bright side, I can rebuild all these characters and add SSS or those other little things I've always wanted.
    just wish I could find a tutorial for making these V4 characters into Gen2Fem and not Gen like GenX2 wants too.
    Heck I'd take all the current morphs I just did for Genesis and move them over to Gen2Fem/Gen2male for continued use.
    Lost mine several years ago, it took several months to rebuild.... Good luck!
    Call out if you need help finding anything.
    If you have the Genesis 2 add-on for GenX2 you can transfer to G2F/M
    I've been kicking around the latest bridge set.
    I hid the chairs and added the captain's chair from a previous bridge set. I parented it to a cylinder, so turning the chair just means turning the cylinder. I also replaced the station chairs with the chairs from Fine Dining. I hid the legs, add the cylinder and positioned them. I used the Leather Factory shaders for the surfaces (with no bump) and the Ultrueviolet shaders for the light panels.
    I plan to further tweak it with some customer display screens and control panels.
    That is looking really great Tim, I love the light and airy colors. I am doing one right now but it is a Mirror Universe so it is a lot darker and foreboding looking
    For those that may not understand what just happened here, but a conversation about products for sale and links to those sites is a 'no-no' according to the Terms of Service.
    Don't fret if your entry was removed, it's happened to a lot of us.
    Just keep posting and play by the rules.
    Hi all! Been gone for over a week and I was checking what I missed. I saw that the captains chair isn't turning. Good thing is, I saw that right when I left, and it so happens I was meeting up with John from Vanishing Point during Star Wars weekend and let him know. Soooo... I'll let you know when the fix comes up! If any one is interested I'll post some Picts of the weekend over on the Star Wars thread tomorrow.
