It does render fine. The preview is white because the shaders applied are procedural and do not apply any visible output on preview.

I noticed that Black Panthers for BC2 is in the store, but not showing on the front page. What I see on the FP are BC2, Hyenas and the Griffin, and then there's the freebie Big Cats poses. Is there anything else that I'm missing?

Edit - And Real Fur for Big Cats is also not showing on the front page.

Well. I see I was right. Guess if I want new kitties I will be going elsewhere. It's enough of a struggle with Genesis in Poser, this Dson kludge thing is not for me. :-(

Gah, so no use in LuxRender or Octane?

Have to admit - procedural textures that won't work in Luxrender, hair presets that rely on an unstable plugin, very flat paws which look rather odd and few obvious improvements is making this less and less of a must buy.

    Sorry.

I understand the reason for the flatness of the paws it was created as if the cat is standing or walking all the time and the pressure flattens the bottom of the paws. That being said would have been nice to have at least a dial to morph the individual paws for when the cat is laying down or in a jump pose and the weight of the cat is no longer on it's feet.

I've used Genesis, G2F, G2M, plenty of Genesis content, including content that wasn't pre-converted for Poser usage, and I ain't found nothing "kludgy" about any of it. It's all worked much better than I'd hoped and expected, especially the conversions.

I haven't found my answer yet and I have searched, The Griffin for Big Cat 2 says it requires the Griffin Wings from Daz Horse 2 and links to it. But then in the second description paragraph the phrase 'griffin wings' is highlighted and leads to a different griffin wing product which is more expensive than the Griffin Wings for Daz Horse 2.

Which griffin wings does the griffin take?

In the description of the product he says, "I have also created a special fit pose for the Griffin Wings so it's easy to set up, even with the matching presets." and links to http://www.daz3d.com/griffin-wings

Anyone have it installed to see which wings it works for or is it both?

It definitely works with the Griffin wings for the DAZ Horse 2. From the description it sounds like it also works with the regular Griffin Wings, if you have the fit that midnight_stories is talking about.

If you don't have either griffin wings products your best bet would be to get the Griffin Wings for DAZ Horse 2.

Well, with me it's been a mixed bag of results so far. Some things work, others don't. Or not as well. Which for me means unless it's something urgently needed for a project and there is no non-DSON/Genesis version available, it goes on my "maybe when it goes on sale and I've money to burn" list instead of in the shopping cart. If I had an older, less robust machine I could understand having difficulties with using Poser/Dson; however that's not it. Perhaps future updates will make it better but that's the way things are with me & this Studio-only stuff for now.

I think there may be a poser version being made. I think I read that somewhere.

To those wondering about the LAMH presets and render times- just like everything else it depends on your setting. I can render an entire completely furred critter in seconds eveon on my crappy laptop with the fur at base shader settings and basic light. Having the highest shader and UberEnvironment lights on very high settings and the render shading rate very low (I usually use .2, and that makes EVERYTHING slower) will take longer, but its hard to give a basic number on render times because it depends on too many variables. I usually keep UE lights at midrange and fur USUALLY i'll use the base material shader. For me that will render in usually a couple hours on my my laptop and about half an hour on my desktop. Using mapped shadows can help shorten the time but i like the look of UE better.

Also poser folks- could you possibly save the pose for the cat from poser, open cat in DS, load fur preset, export as obj, import fur into poser and parent to cat. I've done that before.

But yea I've heard there's interest in a Poser version and the poser hair room could DEF use a better hair and fur option :D

PS... I don't have this yet as my PC membership just ended I have yet to afford that or these cool cats...

but just wondering, what is the price for the Big Cats 2 for PC members?

oh dear. Those don't look very good at all. They look more like cyclinders than toes. :(
I'll have to agree, much as I don't want to. This was one of the things I liked least about too many of the older animals, and it seems to have been replicated precisely in MBC2. And looking at the Hyena addon, its stumpy paws appear completely unable to bend.

What about sizes? Another of the big problems with the original cat and big cat was the morphs didn't include scale setting, so the cat was the size of a puma(!) and all the big cats were lion-sized.
