The Figure Metrics package contains:
- 2 Wearable(s) Presets for Genesis 2 Female; 1 with 25 measurements, and 1 with 4 measurements
- 1 Pose Preset; standard "A" pose for measuring
- 2 Wearable(s) Presets for Genesis 2 Male; 1 with 24 measurements, and 1 with 4 measurements
- 1 Pose Preset; standard "A" pose for measuring
- 4 Wearable(s) Presets for Genesis;
- 2 Wearable(s) Presets for Female measurements; 1 with 25 measurements, and 1 with 4 measurements
- 2 Wearable(s) Presets for Male measurements; 1 with 24 measurements, and 1 with 4 measurements
- 1 Pose Preset; standard "A" pose for measuring
The presets with 4 measurements are "Basic" subsets of the full counterpart. Each preset is built specifically for the intended figure. They incorporate "Rigid Follow" nodes, which keep the various markers/anchors positioned relative to the geometry they are measuring; so they re-align themselves as the geometry changes shape. The Tailor Tape nodes specify which polygons they consider in their measurement, to help isolate them. The full male presets have 1 less measurement than their female counterpart; i.e. "UnderBust", which doesn't make sense for males. "Bust" in the female preset is labeled "Chest" in the male version. "Waist" on the male is lower than the female version. There are all kinds of tweaks that are specific to the figure.

Head height is a basic measurement for creating figures. Does this tool provide the height of the head, or have the capacity for the user to create this measurement?
Bought it. Can not add the pane Measure Metrics. It's not there. (I can find the product in Content Library so it is downloaded).
There is a script in the Content Library. Am I supposed to do anything with it. If so, what?
I had a similar issue until I figured it out.
You need to added the serial, which will be in "my serials" page to the installed plugin. You will find this in the Help > About Installed Plugins. You will then have the Measure Metrics pane available to dock somewhere. To use it, I loaded a G2 Femail figure and then used the scripts found in the Smart Content > Utilities > Measure Metrics. This added the measurements to the figure. I can then shape the figure and see the measurements in the pane. There are also some morphs specific to the measure metrics found in the shaping tab for the figure that relate to various body parts. E.g. Hips.
Where should I add the serial?
Thank you for this info. I am not sure how long it would have taken me to figure that out.
In Daz Studio Pro > Help > About Installed Plugins > scroll down until you see a Registration Window (white box with lots of x's) > type or copy & paste your serial number > Press OK
This is what it looks like. No white field with lots of xxxx.
Something similar to this happened with someone else - a plug-in was displayed with a "dz" prefix instead of its proper name. This was due to the fact that the latest version of DAZ Studio was not being used, so ... do you have the latest version of DAZ Studio?

Thanks to mdp6312, Kismet and especially Cayman who nailed the solution. I still used 4.6.1.39. When I updated Daz Studio everything worked just fine.
I can't seem to find the presets (I downloaded the 64 bit version) the plugin is there and functioning, but, no presets to be found?....
For either genesis or gensis2F I looked in the content folder under people/Genesis 2 Female and there is no measure metrics folder preset
Well, something weird with the installment....
I've got DS 4.6.2.118 (64bit) installed (windows)
installed the 64 bit version (windows) of the plugin, entered the serial nr, and I got my Measure Metrics Pane, so all should be well, one would think.
Not
no scripts did install...
The only files installed are the "bottom 3" files on the filelist
/docs/Plugins/MeasureMetrics.dsx
/docs/Plugins/MeasureMetricsInlineHelp.dsx
/plugins/dzmeasuremetrics.dll
http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/16684/file_list
.
None of the other files are anywhere to be found on my system
Now I do have the main program file installed on the C drive; all content is on the E drive. this always worked well with any other content and plugin
So anyone any idea how to fix this????
Yes man seems to be missing a lot I don't see anything added in windows explorer I am kinda wondering if there is supposed to be a separate installer
I have the same problem - I downloaded the manual installer for both 32-bit and 64-bit and neither appears to have the wearables presets. Has anyone used the DIM and got the presets?
I don't use DIM either, also used the manual installer....
In DIM I have a Figure Metrics package which is the content - it looks as if that is missing from the product Library. I will report this.
Nicely done! I have some DAZ bucks left on my card, so I'll probably get this.
Questions:
Will these measurements translate correctly back and forth between other products' measuring? By that I mean 64 bit modelling tools, so not Hexagon (unless it is modernized). For example, if I make Michael 6' 6" tall and want to be sure he will fit in a car that I'm modelling in Blender?
It also may now reveal a marketing need for DS to have an enhancement made so that it can import/export easier (or maybe become host OR plugin) to Blender, Sculptris, Silo, Maya, etc. Similar to the portal between DS and Hex (but I don't use Hex because it's obsolete).
Thanks Richard, I figure Daz was racing around on Friday just like any other company. Most likely will have to wait till Monday till its updated though.
rbtwhiz I don't find the Measurement info as you show in your screenshot. How fo you get that ?
You select the "Bust Circumference" or "UnderBust Circumference" node that gets added by the [non-"Basic"] female Wearable(s) Presets.

Not exactly. The Figure Metrics package is available through Install Manager. Where it isn't available is the Product Library. The situation is the same regardless of platform. The reason for the situation isn't quite that simple, but I'm not going to get into it here until we discuss it in more detail, internally. That discussion has started, but at this point I don't know what anyone else's plans for the weekend are, so I'm not expecting the discussion to move forward until we're back in the office on Monday. In the meantime, obtaining the package through Install Manager is what you will need to do.

So, to be sure. If I wanted to make a specific female's measurements, I could but I would have to use the G2F breasts morphs and watch the measurement dials to figure out the specific breast size?

Soooo, does DIM work on a system that doesn't have DS installed? For there is no point installing DIM on my render systems, as they are in a separate network, not connected to the internet.... (and they are not going to be....)

Yes, DIM doesn't require DS to be installed, nor does it require an internet connection -- you can download on one system and copy the files to the offline system to be installed.
Ok, will give that a try, thanks for the quick response
Are there measurements for feet (shoe) size?
Why does dim have 2 measure metrics? One says public build and the other doesn't.
The public build is for the beta, the other is for the general release.
