    Chevybabe20,

The Sea Salt Hair is very nice, but how do I keep that small "renegade" lock of hair from curling over the cheek?  In your videos above, it is on the right cheek.  I want to shorten it or move it back with the rest of the hair.

Hmm. You can try to use "Right Curl 1 Out" in combination with a face shield and then simulate it that way.  There are face shields included in the "Desert Queen Hair" I made. You can also try to make your own which is really just a cyclinder prop that is parented to the face. Picture attached. PhilW also has made a couple of hairs with face shields too, I believe.

Yep, those shields are very useful.

Face Shield worked well.  "Left/Right Curl 1 Out" did not.

When I simulate dForce Speakeasy Hair, it barely moves at all. What is wrong?

When the hell was this released? I appear to have completely missed it. Wishlisted for now.

edit: to hopefully answer your question, does it include simulation settings? It's probably set to be pretty stiff (which I imagine would be accurate to how that look was achieved in the first place).

No, it has color materials but no simulation settings presets. The product page says " drape your hair to your pose", but it doesn't drape to any pose.

Gordig is correct. Due to the style, I set this hair up to be really stiff. I also didnt include extra simulation settings because those bangs are perfect and it was super hard to pull off. Too much simulation made them look sloppy, and not changing them with the rest of the style also made things not look quite right.

You can change this hair to be looser :

Selecting the dforce Speakeasy Cap and expanding it in the scene tab.

    Select the dforce Speakeasy Hair

Under the parameters tab; Select all the surfaces

Scroll down on the surface parameters and find the following:

Local Shape Constraint Stiffness and change the default setting which is 0.9 I believe to something lower like .65

If it still doesnt drape enough,

You can change the PS Points (Per Hair) to something higher than 20, like 25 and change the PR Points (Per Hair) to the same.

The comment about the stiff style makes sense. The statement "drape your hair to your pose" on the product page led me to expect more movement. I tried your specific suggestions here and got the kind of results I was expecting. I left the bangs settings unchanged, since you were concerned about them. I appreciate that you named the G3 and G8 hairs so I can tell them apart. I appreciate that you listen to customers and help them with questions!

I can't figure out how to pose the Speakeasy earrings. I can't find any morphs. They have a lot of bones, but when I rotate one, it disconnects from the bones above. What is the trick, please.

  • barbultbarbult Posts: 24,755

Here are a couple more renders I made with Speakeasy Hair. You can see that my attempt to pose the right earring was not very successful.

I can try my best but Im actually farrrrrr away from my computer. If I remember correctly though, the first bone is labeled Right Earring. This one will do the majority of posing, because even though all those layers have bones they arent meant to do a whole lot. The 3 dangly bottom portions can also do more of the posing. I found those were more easily seected with the umm pose selector tool.

To me, if i were to move the earring at all, I may try rotating it slightly? but honestly i think it looks lovely as is.

I wanted the right earring to drape over her shoulder. I Maybe I can move the bone ends to make the bones rotate around the place they connect, but that might be a lot of work. I think I'll experiment with it anyway.
