How could it be a sandwich with only one slice of bread? Wouldn't that be just "a slice of bread with vegemite" *

Social media is not a solution for social isolation issues during the pandemic.

Social media is probably making things worse for all of us when we come out of the pandemic, IMO. Gosh, the things people say and do on there.

You need to try a drunk cucumber.  3 parts good Anjeo Tequila, 1 part Dill Pickle Juice, and garnish with some Best Maid/Del-Dixi Hamburger slices.  Use the brine from the hamburger slices for the pickle juice.  Good Stuff!  Since you make it in a Collins glass and fill it up to the top, it is not a drink for the faint of heart.

I've had Vegemite on toast, I really like it, but some people don't. Kind of hard to explain what it tastes like though, it is rather salty, sort of like a bacon spread???

Well, I'm rather bland.  And although I do like a good margarita or a shot of a fruit brandy now and then, my goto drink a couple times a week just before or after supper is a shot(1 oz.) of basic vodka in 5 oz. of "Crystal Light" flavored iced tea mix (cool, but no ice) presented in a 6 oz. heavy, lead crystal, stemmed wine glass.  Elegance and frugalness all in one package.smiley  As I settle back into my worn out recliner and vegitate on YouTube on the telly.  No, it's pressed crystal, not cut crystal, I said frugal didn't I?

I have one nice, small, cut crystal brandy snifter that I found at a junk store for $2. yes

But the lead crystal wine glass I showed above is typical of the brand "Crystal D'Arques".  I used to have lots of them in different styles (wine, water, champagne flutes, etc.) back when we entertained in Washington, DC.  They are non-exhorbitant elegance.  That was about 30 years ago.  But I've noticed that often on TV when a show has a view of a formal dinner table setting, I'll notice the exact same shapes, and some of them were distinctive, the champagne flutes for example.  Apparently TV studios don't like to spend more than they have to.  But now days I think the original Crystal D'Arques aren't sold here in the US because of the lead content.  However, they are now marketed as "Longchamp" and the glass used is less leaded or not at all.  Not that it matters.   I like the heft of the thick glass, less likely to fall with an accidental slight nudge. But I remember the original lead glass Crystal D'Arques being quite noticeably heavy.

A set of four of the champagne flutes below can be found for about $32 or about $7 or $8 dollars apiece.  Compared with fancy flutes that can easily be $25 to $40 each.

That brings back some memories. Long ago, in a place far away, I was foolish enough to get married and cornered the market in Crystal D'Arques gifts...wine glasses, whisky tumblers, bowls large and small, liquor glasses, a bell, and a cake plate and server. Never used, just sat in the china cabinet till we divorced. My son now uses the whisky glasses.

I would describe the flavor as industrial. Like the by-product from some manufacturing process. That is also how I would describe the Cheeze in Amy's Mac & Cheeze.

    https://www.amys.com/our-foods/rice-mac-cheeze-gluten-free-dairy-free

But the Cheeze and Vegemite have distinctly different flavors. Just neither of them seem quite like something meant for eating.

You just described the taste - for me! - of about 75% of pre-processed food. devil

Seems you read the wrong newspapers... meteors are going down on Big Mama Earth about daily right now already - in fact, I saw about 4 during the last week at night - and they do so for ages already...

Unless, of course, You mean The Meteors... which were supposed to hit the earth - unless Britain would have done another big Brexit - in April already but got corona'd... and then later the USofA, another part of the Earth, even though there seem to be.... nah.. too political... Well.. time will tell if they really hit it or not... probably not would be my guess... and all the other hits all over Europe probably also will not happen...

Oh my word.  Cheese that is not cheese.  That is just NASTY!

Give me Blue Cheese Tuna Salad with EXTRA Blue Cheese

6.4 oz pack of chunk light tura
    1 & 1/2 cups shredded letiuce
6 to 8 medium size grape tomatoes (the size of medium size grapes) cut in half lengthwise
1 oz, of your favorite Blue Cheese crumbles
1/2 or so of Litehouse Blue Cheese salad dressing ( a little more or a little less to your personal level of goopyness)
6 to 12 dashes of Louisana Hot Sause (to taste).

Sounds strange but tastes dang good.

I eat it for dinner with a Drunk Pickle on the side.

I could live with that, except that I'd make the Blue Cheese salad dressing myself, which isn't that complicated... and using solid tuna instead of the bits (leftovers from preparing the solid tuna to be canned?) that I'd make into small bits myself..

One of the good things about living in Germany is, that we get food ingredients from all over Europe easily in our shops here. smiley
