I find https://www.daz3d.com/look-at-me-ii-pose-control and https://www.daz3d.com/ultimate-pose-mixer to be indispensable for easy posing, followed by https://www.daz3d.com/mesh-grabber to make those quick pokethrough changes

somehow, this sucks - if i want to make a printout with images/thumbs of all my owned products in the store (and this one is not 200 years old like antiquated M3 stuff or sth!), taking it completely out means i won't see it in my printout. they should leave the product pages and just deactivate the cart/fav functions. i think rendo does sth like that.
or maybe i just want to read the product's blurb, which is not necessarily the same as the readme (or is it?)
and i dunno, if this is an issue about storage room - don't tell me anyone still looks at those 200 years old products???? i guess those who work with/like those old figures probably have all the gear they want for them - after all they had like 20 years to buy the stuff - and nobody new at DS will ever work with M3/V3 or super old props/environments that are not iray and look like.. well, 20 years old 3d...

If you go to your account and then product library, you should be able to find the main image of each product still there.  You can also look in the readmes on the Wiki

sure - at least that! - but what is important for me, besides the product-specific info which i might or not need at some point, is having a list with thumbs from all my owned products  (possibly printed on paper, or just as a pdf apart from the DS app / possibly by categories, like hair, figures etc) just so i can see at one glance what i have. faster than on the smart content panel (which besides doesn't always show everything, like older items, or the metadata has been messed up).
this very useful option (show owned products) is shown with daz deals on, and i wanted to have this kind of list available offline as a print/digital pdf, or at least online on the shop's page.
it wouldn't be so important if the metadata was 1) not buggy with thumbs disappearing / 2) really updated incl. old items and not in that "lost" category / 3) messed up with stuff in the wrong category.
short, i should be able, in 1 click or 1 grab to my paper list, to see all my hair, all my figures or whatever oredering i chose WITHOUT stuff not being visible for some stupid reason. also those miniature thumbnails are annoying.
looking on the shop's page with that option gives the best results, big thumbs incl. - IF all my items are still there... i also use that shop page for finding the creator easily to give credit when i upload sth, no need to search somewhere in the wiki, the readme or somewhere...

if products that aren't sold any more are totally deleted/invisible in the shop, there will be missing thumbs (ergo items) in my list(s). i don't see why they handle this like this, instead of greying out the cart/fav function.

I've been having a lot of fun with smay's Super Hero Suit (https://www.daz3d.com/super-hero-suit-for-genesis-8-females). The morph combinations are incredible and the fact there's both a flat (yay!) and heeled version in the base suit is awesome. The attention to detail is appreciated and hopefully we'll start seeing support for add-ons in the future - and a G8M version!

I'm using Dial Control a lot now.  So much more helpful than Currently Used.

I'm guessing that it's because it would probably make people mad to see things in the store that they can't buy.

Maybe they need some kind of graveyard where they list all the discontinued products.

I do find Look at Me II to be very useful. Maybe the most useful utility.

And IBL Master. It is nice to be able to see the HDRI in the preview and even in 3Delight renders, and see a reflection of the sky to know where the brightest part is.

Other than those, my favorite products would probably be my favorite characters' components.

Mesh Grabber and dForce... I use them in just about every render these days. I huge thank you to those who made them available.

so, i should be mad ALL THE TIME then.. because every time i browse the store, there are terabytes of items that i can't buy, lol XDDDDD

this would be a good idea in a way, at least they would still be visible...tho, on the other hand, they wouldn't be on this store print of owned products....

yup, LAM 2 is also on my wishlist since there are functions that go further than LAM 1 - but not as a priority since my funds are extremely limited so i tend to buy what i don't have already in some form or another first. exception: Asian males, can't have enough ^^

My favourite and most indispensable product is Genesis Generation X and all the GenX2 add-ons.  https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-generation-x2
It allows me to mix hundreds and hundreds of morphs and characters.  I think it's one of the greatest products DAZ has ever sold.

Along with all the legacy UV sets from Cayman Studios. https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-3-uvs-for-genesis

I couldn't function as an artist without those two sets of products.

Yes it does work in the preview, at least in the preview modes that have "shaded" in the name. I don't think it reflects all the render settings. Like if I change the exposure value in Tone Mapping then it doesn't get lighter or darker. Yes, turning the dome updates IBL Master. I change the "Dome Orientation Y" setting and the IBL object's "Y Rotate" setting changes with it, and the image changes accordingly. This picture has just the zombie car and an HDRI. I was able to rotate the IBL object in the preview window and the whole HDRI rotated with it.  I was able to move the parking space into view and line the car up in the space, and scale it to the size of the space, all in the preview window.

    Zombie Post Apocalyptic Car

    I like Ultrascenery a lot.

As do I.  Judging from the almost 300 renders in the galleries, we are not alone.

    Cheers,

I start all my stuff with a character, morphs, skin, make-up, hair, clothing, and usually only then decide how to pose them and where to put them.   For that initial setup of the character, or when I want to check out a new character, what I really, really like to use is the light set that was thrown in with the HY Ponytail.  It's really simple, and the lights are a little on the cool side, but it's something I use a LOT.

  • Lately, I've been obsessed with a few of SickleYields products:

https://www.daz3d.com/rigged-water-iray-2  - she has a series of iray water products and I love them all but this one's my fav.  Sold me when I saw the promo image of the dude standing in the pool in Platea  I also use the included water shaders a lot even when I don't use the props.

https://www.daz3d.com/rssy-3delight-to-iray-converter - another SickleYield co-product.  I use this daily.  This rescued my aging runtime, and allows me to use my library of 3delight only products in iray.  Single click awesomeness at it's finest.  I had just stopped using 1/2 my library.  This one also includes a sweet all-purpose iray hair shader for older 3dl hair that makes it worth the price of admission alone, even if you don't run the script.

Then there's this dude, who was an insta-purchase for me:  https://www.daz3d.com/deepsea-adam-hd-for-genesis-through-genesis-8  - mostly because I've been playing modded-Skyrim an obsessively unhealthy amount lately, and he just looks like how I would imagine my Nord barbarian to look like to a "T".  I'd need to add some scruff to him, courtesy of https://www.daz3d.com/cc-beard-boss-for-genesis-8-males which I use on almost all my G8 males, to give him a nice Indiana Jones style 5'oclock shadow, and maybe a scar or two, so he'd look more like a warrior.

Any hair that Out of Touch releases, and last but not least V3Digitimes iray conversion products for older genesis generations.  Another set that I use a lot.  Here's a link for one of 'em, which can help you find the rest.   https://www.daz3d.com/iray-converter-for-genesis

I love these threads when they pop up just because Daz releases an overwhelming amount of really good stuff, and I only catch maybe a third of it? I discover more stuff by browsing these threads than I could hope to sifting through hundreds of pages of releases.  Still, from Daz's point of view, that must be a good problem to have!

Sakura 8 for me, she litters my gallery with cuteness!  cheeky   ...and Fabiana's light sets are a pretty common go-to, as well.

    Haha, yeh I've noticed.

Personally though, I prefer "lavishly sprinkled" to "litters".

Yeah, a lot of products I picked up from this thread!

Also it's too bad there isn't a Daz to Skyrim bridge (yet!)

Favorite product in my 232 product library is hands down https://www.daz3d.com/altern8--skin-shader-system-for-genesis-8 by @Divamekeup

Another vote for Daz-to-Skyrim SE and DAz-to-FO4 since FO4 is basically Skyrim SE with a coat of paint.
