The picture look great Serene, and I love Owen's slightly surprised expression when he see Boyd. Also Boyd look different but really good when dressed up :)

Tried to find those flowers, but couldn't find it in this store. Is it in the other store?

Agreed, the house looks like a typical house, and I like the way the porch is indented and wraps around to the side. Nice posing too!

Well, Sarge is my main character and he happens to be gay. Most of my thread is pretty much about this character and his evolution. As I get better skills at art, I change him, and he changes in appearence.   Him being gay is pretty incidental to what he does most of the time, which is infantry and training men to fight and helping people. .  Boyd is probably at leat bisexual if not gay. I haven't decided and it isn't a huge issue in the future. Boyd doesn't have a body for most of his life so when he gets a body he does make the most of it, which involves romancing Owen who has been his best friend for a long time and who is the person who matters most to him.

My themes in art that I like to do (in no particular order) are:

    1. Military scenes

    2. Actions scenes

    3. Rescue scenes

    4. Superheros

    5. Hot men.

    6. Sci-fi

    7. Friendship

    8. Love in spite of how one appears or is from the outside.

9 Difficult poses or poses which illustrate day to day activiites.

    10 Robots.

That's basically what I like to illustrate and what I enjoy doing. It can be assumed though, that the majority of the characters I illustrate with the exception of Owen and Boyd are probably straight. It just doesn't matter because it isn't relevant to the situation at hand.

Hope that explains my thread and what I'm into.

I think you rock and love the stuff you do with your boys.

They were good and ahead of their time in some ways.  I watch them fairly often due to my sister liking the show. I think they are free to watch with amazon prime. .

    MeTV is also airing episodes.

I like the little details, like the boots and bike on the porch. It looks like a nice house.

Yeah I wanted to give the impression someone lived there. I was surprised at how few front porch props I have though. Couldn’t find a welcome mat at all.... Guess It’s just so brand new they haven’t decorated.

You always find the nicest accessories to compliment your characters/storyline.

After Owen's disastrous last mission, Boyd takes it upon himself to help Owen recover, by being the thorough distraction he is.

I really love this house I bought at rendo. Its definitely a place the boys would want to live. I like the fancy porch.

The bouquet came in Feral Fey's pageant gear. It is for genesis, but still looks better than many other sets!

This looks like the render you said was crashing at 65%. How did you get it to finish? It looks as good as I thought it would.

Boyd gets his body about this time, and Owen is getting used to Boyd with a body... While Boyd is also getting used to having a body. The situation is made complicated by the fact that Owen is recovering from his bad tour off-world.

Boyd however is very patient with the whole situation and keeps things light. Not pressuring Owen, is a good play on his part. They are really close friends, so he knows Owen pretty well.

Thanks!! I've been looking for a nice front door for courting and decorating for the holidays for sometime. I remember being impressed by the house when I saw it for sale elsewhere- strung with christmas lights. I decided to go take a look.   I also really like Feral Fey's rose bunch. I think the Pageant props would be great with that drag outfit... Formal Wear.... If I get the time, I'll have to try that.

Ah? Really. Great show. I have always been a fan of the original spock. For some reason, New Spock just doesn't have the same vibe. But old spock... Was just perfect.

I took it into scene optimizer and reduced all the textures. It seems to render OK. I really think though, that there is something wrong with DAZ. This is a relatively light scene for me. For the textures to choke this machine up nearly 2/3rds through... I dunno. I also got rid of the garage, and the top half of the house since they were not visible.

Here's the reverse kiss pose I made. I decided to have Boyd sitting instead of leaning over standing but had a fair bit of trouble with the rim of the hot tub and the beach towel, which refused to lie flat. (Someone please make dforceable towels) . There is a side view which I will post tomorrow.

I was stoked to find a margarita in the Tiny house entertainment set. For some reason, margaritas are challenging to find!

    Really love this!

Thanks. I have a different angle where I make Boyds hand a bit tighter in posing.... But haven't uploaded it yet. I thought that turned out well...

Owen and Boyd take a coffee break. And since there is no biking on the pier Owen carries his retro citybike.  I'm not sure what happened to Boyd's brew except that he must have already slurped his down with his retractable feeding tube or expects to share some of Owen's.

Brains tend to prefer rather toxically sweet beverages, so I favor the latter option. One triple venti 20 pump vanilla extra-caff, brew has likely already been sucked up, so Boyd is ready for the day.

I had seen a number of 'cute guy hoists bike poses' and this was my version. I was originally going to use fat bike, but fat bike, is really big.I wasn't sure it would be convincing hoisting it off the ground. City bike is a better size but kind of granny style.

Owen's kind of into vintage 40's and 50's stuff, and so maybe it is fitting he rebuilt an old retro bike and takes good care of it.

I wanted to sling a shirt over Owen's shoulder. This proved challenging as none of the shirts really d-forced well. So I pulled up a laundry prop that was already kind of meant to be bent and dforced it around Owen's should so it looked like the hoodie is kind of hanging there.

Great image and just thought you might like to know I have a fat tire mountain bike and it isn't more than a couple of pounds heavier than a regular narrow tire mountain bike. The size of the tires makes it look like it would weigh a lot more but its basically a bit of rubber and the width of the rims for weight.

Okay, you convinced me. I will try a render with fat bike in the same position. We'll see how it goes.

Okay, I was wrong. Fat Bike looks equally cool if not more cool than City Bike. I apologize for doubting! I had to adjust the hand pose a bit to account for the change to the bike's stabilizing bar, but here you go!

And since I was going to correct one thing, I decided Boyd should have his own cup of coffee and yes it’s bigger than Owen’s.... So I used one of Jepe's overlays and gave him a little tractor beam. This proved interesting, because the tractor beam logistically needed to engulf the whole cup  or he would just be carrying it by the lid! Disaster.  He probably would be better off with a thermos of some sort. But oh well. This demonstrates how Boyd manages to get by without hands in this particular bot body. He can do just about everything with his small directional beams.

I have attached a copy of the fatbike pose for M8 and a pose for the Fatbike. All my poses are totally free, and available for commercial use with no strings attached.  (I  don't like free stuff thats not actually free or requires that you do something). I will upload Male poses from time to time to support men's content creators, and you can create a directory of them. As soon as there are sufficient ones I'll post a whole zip.

It is important when using fastbike as a prop that it is not parented to Michael- otherewise the included pose for it won't work. You will of course need the fatbike to use the pose. Enjoy!

Personally, I like the original bike better for such a peer environment. If he were on the beach itself I'd go for the dirt bike.

OK, I have to ask: how does Boyd actually taste the coffee?

It was determined a while ago, that Brains like regular people require sensory perceptions to remain emotionally and physically healthy. They can do without a few senses, but not all.

Depending on the model some brains cannot eat while driving their vehicles but require being connected to a feeding station to consume their brain shakes. (Ensure like drinks filled with nutrients that come in a variety of flavors). The shakes are filled with nutrients adjusted to maximize the brains' energy levels, and keep them healthy. Most taste pretty sweet to the regular person and come in some odd flavors, since brains taste things a bit differently than we do, due to the way their taste buds/sensors are grafted. They might like... For example a Miso Raspberry swirl drink.....

This was determined to be quite limiting especially for scout models and models for the miltiary which did not have time to return to their stations.  So they took a cue from nature....

Boyd has a retractable straw like proboscis like a butterfly that uncoils and lets him drink liquid.  It has taste sensors on it composed of tongue cells which allow him to enjoy the tastes of things he consumes as the liquid goes up the straw... It regenerates so if it is damaged, it will regrow. Damaging it can cause a brain a lot of pain, as there are some nerve endings in the proboscis.

Inside along with his brain he has a rudimentary digestive tract filled with nanites which help convert the food and process what is not used. What is not used at one feeding is digested byt he nanites that run his processes and extcreted as purified water through a tube in the back, like a bird. Damaged nanites also are expelled there, it is possible the proboscis can also grasp things in limited fashion like an elephant trunk and is involved in his breathing and sense of smell as well. I'm not sure.

Boyd favors sweet drinks, but Owen has been known to blend food they get so Boyd can taste it.  Some people object to watching scouts eat, but they are no different than watching a kid suck a shake through a straw, and in Owen's opinion far more elegant than say... The average Private  consuming a Sloppy Joe. Owen will educate anyone that Boyd is a soldier and that how he eats or what his differences are, are no more gross than other human functions. He doesn't put up with nonsense about his partner.

In this form, Boyd is mostly Ocular. His vision is superior and he can see in all directions simultaneously. He can also see things humans can not , such as the interweb,  and in the infrared scale.. He has very little pain perception, but can taste.  I'm not sure how he can feel since he is mostly metal exterior-wise. But he can perform delicate operations with his tractors.  How he breathes is a mystery, but he is mostly self-contained  because he can go into hostile environements most humans would be unable to take- such as underwater, fiery environments, or gaseous attack situations, so its possible the nanites generate oxygen for him in some way.... I'm not sure.

There are of course other models of vehicles such as pleasure models which have more space and more phsyical senses than the model Boyd drives has.    Since Boyd is a modular entity, he can transfer his brain to a variety of hosts, depending on the situation. Since he is particularly talented at flight, most of the time he installs himself into robots which can fly. I don't think he's ever installed himself into a bipedal android body.

Do you have this all figured out, or do you make it up as you go? Impressive, either way!

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,651

Heh. It depends. I knew for example that Boyd could drink fluids through a straw like aparatus. but not the logistics of it. When I pondered how he could enjoy taste, I decided on the butterfly concept, because....  Anyone who has seen a buttefly consume nectar can't help but think they are pretty cute and elegant when they roll their proboscus out, plus boyd has a propensity to enjoy highly sugared drinks, much like a butterfly enjoys nectar.  The fact that it retracts, would be logical in a bot deployed into combat zones.

So the answer is, I have an outline, kinda, and If there is a question that forces me to flesh out the idea a bit better, so much the better.

The original image seems more popular. I have 13 likes on that one, and only 5 on the one with Fatbike. So your preference may have stats behind it.
