They do, to see if something is edible. Unfortuantely, I don't think the model I'm using for  Boyd doesn't even has landing gear, so he can't taste anything that way... Plus... gross... You'd be tasting the ground everywhere you went! The ground of the future isn't always that clean.

I was actually suprised at just how many things butterflies do consume that are liquid. I did not know for example that they liked liquid in manure. Gross but true.

Personally, I like the original bike better for such a peer environment. If he were on the beach itself I'd go for the dirt bike.

The original image seems more popular. I have 13 likes on that one, and only 5 on the one with Fatbike. So your preference may have stats behind it.

    Make that 6.

Hah! People on Deviant Art seem to prefer fatbike too..

Here are a few images from my failure file. I went back and looked at them and thought some are quite cute even though they are flawed  so I figured I'd add them  to the pile of images here with Owen and Boyd.

You can probably see why some of them are unsuccessful... But, hey each adds a little something.

    1. I spent a lot of time putting all those pills on the the table. My motto is always ad props to every scene if you can! It makes things more visually interesting.  But I didn't like Owen's expression here....

    2. I like that Boyd is sorting the laundry, but if you look out the window, the ocean is about to flood the laundry room- woops. Its my fault. I love the light from the Maui HDRI. But I forgot to put a environment out there.

    3. Kinda like the gray but don't like the way Boyd's arm bends.

    4. I love the socks, but I don't love Boyd's shorts. And Owen's looking up while Boyd is looking down, but I guess you got to do something while your laundry's machine is doing its thing.

    5. The last one was just a test of cartoony shading technique.

Anyway, I thought some of these were worth looking at so I decided to post my failure file.

Would that my failures looked that good! (Or some of my successes, for that matter.)

Regarding the arm bend in the grayscale image: I forget which generation you're using here, but if it's Genesis 3, do you have the Musculature HD morphs? The muscle flexions in that (or any other similar package) can't seem to distinguish when a muscle should be flexed and when it should be stretched because the opposing muscle is flexed. What I wound up having to do a lot of the time was to go into the Musculature HD morphs for the triceps and dial down the value until the line of the muscle was smoothed out.

That is ... interesting, that is. If it weren't for the fact that Val3Dart has a fairly substantial Renderosity presence, this would make me wonder if aeris19 and Val3Dart were the same vendor with different names (the first pose sets by Aeris19 at Renderosity had the same name as this one). That aside ... Daz seems to be expanding its catalog in some unexpected ways.

I picked them up and the two male outfits. Ironically I now have 3 sets with that name. One from Rendo, one from here, and a freebie set by RenderGuyNY's that was also really quite good. But, heck, the more the merrier. Bring on more Love is Love poses

@vwrangler Thanks for the tips on the muscle morph. I have the worst time with male muscles in the arms in gen 8 for some reason. Especially the bicep. I will see if I can dial that one down. I find sometimes its a specific full body morph that adds to the weird muscle shape. Owen has one in his arm, that sticks out like a hershey's kiss. I tend to just erase it in photoshop.

I have another pose I'm working on to add  to my male couple pose set. I am at 4 now. This is a wip  so there may be some clipping. This is a rather hard pose to do- to get the jeans to fit, I have to turn on smoothing, but when I do that, unfortunate things happen to the pants in areas that I don't want and the open pocket morph.  I have to do 2 renders I'm afraid, one with  smoothing on, and one with it off. But I think after an hour or so, I managed to almost get the hands and arms in the correct position in the pockets. Its for a shorter and taller man. I'm not sure if it would be easier with guys the same size or not.

When I did this pose I did think of my friend Butch. wink

I will likely complete it tonight.

Actually even if there are taste buds if the correct type of detectors for a chemical aren't there that chemical won't be tasted. Butterflies taste buds are probably more limited than people's which are limited too.

It grosses me out too but without the taste buds that people have, the butterflies drinking liquid in manure is probable salty, clean water full of microbes that would kill microbes harmful to butterflies, say in stagnant water. LOL, they are probably very particular which animals they'll drink water out of manure from. laugh

Yes. I don’t begrudge any animal it’s sustenance. =) butterflies probably do need plenty for their size. They are fragile and pretty little things.

Fragile they may be but that doesn't stop some from migrating thousands of miles :)

Great posing. I'm a little entranced by the way that the light is hitting Owen's cheekbone.

Aww...thanks. If you have this set https://www.daz3d.com/epic-skydomes-mystical-island-cave-16k-hdri

it has 4 super bright lights. I unparent those and use them with various hdri. For some reason they seem to work well to bring out the color in the skin. I use those lights frequently.

Thanks for the info. Are you enjoying the two, new outfits from HK?

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,669

I bought both... I like the realism of them. They went in my cart along with the love Is love poses and I grabbed them before they disappeared from the store. winkThe jeans on the checkered shirt outfit are a bit high waisted but I do think I will get nice use from them. For some reason I have immense difficulty fitting hk’s past generation clothing to gen 8 so I prefer native stuff for gen 8.

Do you know, do the pants on those outfits hide the legs? That was something that the Weekend Casual Suit by HK did; I'm guessing that since they removed dForce support in the suit with the latest update when it came back to the store, it probably has the legs issue again, but I haven't checked. (The shirts probably don't have that issue, or there would be issues with the hands and arms getting hidden.)

I’ll check both tonight when I get home if someone else doesn’t answer by then. =-)

The pants are not hiding the legs.. This looks like a good set. Overall nice modeling and realistic lines.

I like this better than the recent dforce clothing. These look quite a bit more realistic.

Here's the Back pocket image.... + Pose if y'all want it. There will be plenty of adjusting to do to make it work especially if your guys are different heights...But this will give you the basics. Enjoy.

Well the store got my business today. Picked up the new EJ character Anders  which looks great comes with another useful pair of underwear/ shorts. I also picked up the shackled set. The night woods Orestes hdri, and shaders by pd.

I think EJ  do great men and men’s things... so am happy to give them my business. I get a ton of use from the swimsuit  that came with Hugo.

No problem. laugh Once I get 6 male couples I’ll compile them all in a freebie zip. It is easier to do them slowly as inspiration strikes and if I do them why not share? If anyone makes anything with them and cares to share.... I’d love to see what people do with em, but no strings attached on my stuff.

This is one of the new poses from Val3dart's set Love is Love. I did have to edit it slightly since it is for 2 men of the same height. The pose is very sweet, and I particularly like the way the fingers of the hand intertwine.

So had a chance to check out the new male tactical assault set. The set looks good, however .... Whoever did the texture set really messed up. The images do not match the texture, and.... Worse still, you can't click the whole outfit to retexture you have to retexture each piece individually.... That's a ton of pieces and when the picture doesn't match the item... I don't know what to say. QA did not even look at this, clearly. All I want to do is recolor the main suit with the dark camo texture. Apparently 20-30 minutes is required to do this.... Nope NOPE.

okay for the sake of my sanity I went in and sorted them by color so I know what to apply to what. Unfortunately, even that doesn't work, because each set doesn't have the same number of items, presumably because some sets, use one in common. Holy kittens. Do they not realize that people who buy texture sets don't like struggling with the textures and applying them, thats why we purchase sets to do it for us? At least put these in folders so people know what to apply with what..... I think this may be a return
