For the last crash I had, it turned out to be memory. I had saved the file so I shut down, restarted and was able to render through to the end. Your mileage may vary.
I'm getting major slow downs (probably due to memory swaps?) and crashes when rendering with iray. 3DL is perfectly fine, though.. So for me, it's not Studio, but just iray that's being troublesome.
In my case, not too much of an issue, because I don't really use iray for anything but experimenting right now, but still annoying.
I definitely think that Iray has trouble with memory. Oddly, not all the time, but sometimes.
I used to like rendering in 3dl, but now with nothing optimizezd for it, it makes it difficult to use. I may consider going back.
Oh man such cool sci-fi but no discount beyond the old freebies.....I really want the gun and the photoshop brushes.....oh and the ant farm set....
oh, totally lame. To get the discount on the antfarm set you need to have 2 items in the cart but then you can only get a single free item instead of the two you would get if you buy each item individually.
I can get a crash everytime by loading Aslan 3, Painter's Lights, Gades, Victorian Santa Suit, Santa Hair, Beard Buster, 50s Morphing Chair, 3 copies of Ollie 8, and then when I go to load 3 copies of Autumn Chic Hat for G3F on the 2nd hat DAZ Studio crashes with no crash dump at all even.
Oddly enough if I load Jonas Hair, RedZ Choppy Short Hair, and George Hair for Ollie 8 I get no crash and can even render so it's not so clearly a memory problem all the render takes forever to actually be preparred by DS so that rendering actually happens. I thing it's something wrong with how autofit handles fitting the Autumn Chic Hat on G8M, since it's the 2nd one loaded that it happens on maybe it's memory I didn't realize autofit used so much memory.
I too have had crashes using autofit. Usually hairs or older clothing. Hmm... Interesting.
Here Owen and Boyd cut their cake. Yeah I know, Boyd's vest doesn't quite match the tie. I will fix it the next go around. Unfortunately, Shaders don't always show as well as I'd like color-wise in the viewport... They have a holiday wedding, so It should be more winterey. I thought the pose turned out well though.... I removed the tuxedo tops, and maybe thats why it suddenly stopped crashing. Not sure.....
I hope we see some tuxes for G8M real soon. Oh and a iray-ready wedding cake would be great too!
That's so cute, nicely done Serene :)
Looks nice. A black tie would work since you aren't likely to match the shade of red. I would change Owen's tie to the same shade of blue on that strip on hi pants on on his cumberbund.
Hmm. I like that suggestion. I will set that to cook while I go start dinner. Oh, I did try re-coloring the purple cake. But... Sadly it looked odd. Purple doesn't go well with the christmas theme....
Going to be bad and ask "Do the boys use Daz to wash their shirts"
They sure do! But that is hilarious. I think I will add some gray to it though. And to the lace tablecloth.
Well, today is a first. I have TWO owen and Boyd images in the top gallery. Glad to see the starfish one made it there too!
Congratulations!
Thanks! =-)
Okay, here I mixed things up a bit more, and took people's suggestions. I also replaced my regular HDRI with a winter one. And well... You can see the other alterations. Owen likes Chocolate, and Boyd loves the color red, so, we had to change up the cake a bit.
I do like this a bit better. I think the lighting change took care of the one issue I noticed with the first version, that Boyd's sleeve merged with Owen's shirtfront in a way that made it hard to tell them apart.
Yes, a great upgrade. The purple cake just didn't fit in. This is nice!
Here's the 'cutting the cake pose.' It is designed to go with Michael 8. Free as usual. No cake, knife, or anything fun included. You'll have to find a cake somewhere....
deleted: somehow it turn posts about two different posts into a double post.
Wow, a small thing like a few color changes and the images is much classier now.
Congrats
Yes, classier. That is the right description of the changes, I agree.
Thanks to you who gave me great constructive feedback! Now if Owen could actually get married in uniform that would be nice... But sadly... Not yet! =-)
yay as everyone else says, that is great now. And who doesn't like chocolate cake.
Aww... thanks.... =-) the cake was a bit intimidating. It had hardly any mats so recoloring made me a touch worried. but I think it turned out well recolored I think. Iray metal and glass made it sparkle.... and getting rid of the lace table cloth with a solid one helped.
Now I think we shall attempt to eat a piece of cake. And in a civilized way none of that cake in face business. =-)
The chocolate cake version seems much more elegant than the default colors, given the time of year you've chosen. Ditto with the tablecloth change.
Really like the version with the chocolate cake. It turned out beautifully and the changes in the clothing coloring work very well with the cake. i agree, very elegant!
I like both versions but would personally prefer a slice of the chocolate. Great image.
The revision shows the shirt beautifully and the lighting looks awesome. Yep, I vote for the chocolate cake too. Well done!
You people are making me crave chocolate now.
