interesting, that's what they did when connect came out with several products being connect download only to try and convert everyone to using connect instead of dim. Maybe trying that again to get us to use DazCentral?

Oh I'm sure that's a part of it. I'm not buying anything that I can't download and install myself.

Which is to say: MANUAL download.

I am with you there JOdel!

  • Geez... one thing is being wary, another is having the torches lit all the time. I'm 83% sure it is a bug, you know, a mistake. Those things we all make. Wait until it's official that it's really only available for Central and then light up the torches, I'll be right there with my own. You know, "until proven guilty" and all that.

Bought this before I noticed that you can't even download manually. Fingers crossed this is a glitch.

And so we come full circle. I remember when DIM came out and there were some issues and people (digitally) rioted and protested about being forced to use this new, terrible, installer! Now many of THOSE people are here rattling their sabers at the new DAZCentral monster proclaiming their refusal to let go of DIM!  (We fear change, it is in our very core).  But after seeing a cycle or two of this, it becomes slightly more comical than disturbing.

    This too shall pass.

Manual installer here. No manual install, no sale.

Given that this is daz3d though, what must be one of THEE MOST BUG INFESTED online shops EVER, I wouldnt be suprised if it was just another daily sales issue.

Just to let everyone know, I'm not even sure how the store software would calculate that any content was "DazCentral" only. DazCentral and DIM share the same core, so DIM can install everything that DazCentral can. DazCentral can't install some things that DIM can, because it doesn't support some older software and their installation methods.

It's probably taking a long time to get unstuck because the data shouldn't ever be able to get in this sort of way so it's probably needing some surgery directly on the store's database to get cleared up (and then it has to move through the various caches and the like).

@DAZ_Rawb It appears you guys have fixed https://www.daz3d.com/shaders--skin-shaders-community-workshop so it shows all download types, so does that mean when Frontier is fixed, it will also have all downloads available too?

I just want to be sure before I add it back to my cart and pay for it.

    Thank you,

    Mary

PS Both products have now lost their sales discounts.

It's a glitch. There is no way to download the set at the moment for anyone by any method.

Guys, the DIM/DazCentral installer IS the manual download. Daz_Rawb said right here that it is an error and shouldn't have been able to have happened. He also said the Daz Central IS the DIM installer. Three methods-- 1 file.

  • Waiting patiently for them to sort this all out...

I'm beginning to think all the issues going on in the world are upsetting people so much that they vent on a temporary 3D software bug.  Time to check out the plethora of relaxing nature and meditation music in music apps or Youtube, people...

Back in my day we had exe installers and everything worked fine!

(but seriously, no one is nostalgic for those, at least, right?)

I found "Paintings of the World" on the Amazon Prime channel on on my Roku.  I like it well enough but It's not what I expected.  Just music played while zooming/panning around images of paintings.  Each episode covers a specific artist.  I was hoping for some actual voice presentatiosn about the individual works and the artists but then I'd have to pay attention.  Good to have running on the TV while I'm on the computer though. It is making me look forward to actually being able to go to the library and read some books about the works of these artists.  That was the plan when I retired on Feb 1 but life had other plans.

If you google hemi-sync, brain-sync or binaural beats, you can find great meditation music that when used with headphones, can put you in relaxing Alpha or Theta brainwave states or Delta for sleep or Beta for concentration. Alpha & Theta brainwave states can also increase creativity, so great to listen to while creating art!

I know I miss the days of changing DIP switches on printers to change from IBM mode or some other mode (usually for handling LF/CR) for different programs (PrintMaster, for instance. Remember those days?). Using some little screwdriver to make those cryptic switch changes... Ahh, memories.

Thanks @DAZ_Rawb. Just to confirm, it showed up in DIM when I restarted and is now downloading fine.

Thank you! I'll check those out.  Just got distracted wandering around https://www.wikiart.org/ for the last hour.

    Greetings,

    Love y'all.

I'd say, 'Decaf is a thing.' but I'm prolly more caffienated than most.

Haven't had a chance to play with DAZ Central because...I use a Mac, primarily, and a PC only for final renders. :)  So I waited a few hours.

Looking forward to playing with what is apparently a wretched hive of scum and villainy.  Also looking forward to playing with Stonemason's latest.

    wink
