@Sevrin: Thank you so much! Definitely a character worth getting even without the base!

I agree.  She has beautiful features on her own and mixes well with all kinds of bases, even with the younger ones.

I'd say that name Angharad as Ang-grid in my accent and leaned when I was in Grantham that it's not pronounced Grann-um but Grant-Ham, I'm like OMG my tongue can't even do that, which the train ticket sales lady took much delight in correcting. laugh

    https://forvo.com/word/angharad/

My paternal heritage is Danish (Pedersen), but my maternal side is Welsh (Burton) so I have a natural curiosity about these areas and cultures.  A while back I watched a British series, Gavin and Stacey, and they had some Welsh jokes that had me in stitches! I'm getting ready to binge watch it again soon.

And more to the thread topic: I'm happily picking up the Angharad 8 Pro bundle tonight when I get home from work.  WOOT!

This could be most unpronounceable bundle so far! I get the theme, but, geez.

Her skin looks off. Like the normal and bumps are way too high, and it just doesn't look right. Daisy has more realistic skin, and she's supposed to be the fairy.

The EXzela hair looks nice, its about the only item that peaks any interest for me. Though Daenestra (these names are wack) is nice, too. EXzela is elegant, yet still practical hair, and looks better than most dforce hairs. However in this promo pic here you can see it is conforming to something it shouldn't be, which I thought dforce was supposed to prevent from happening.

That might be something that could be dialed out, I don't know. This hair lists no regular morphs, so its strictly dforce only. That is a serious drawback in my book, as I like the utility of being able to just use it without dforce sometimes. One thing though, the promos of Angharad for EXzela are much more appealing than the promos on her own product page, so maybe there is hope for her.

The offer is ok, its basically a repeat of Daisy's, and I am guessing the purple banner will also repeat Daisy's. But this model looks much weaker overall. Some of the bundle items prop her up slightly, but I feel like I have seen these outfits before.

Buyer fatigue is setting in. You are playing a dangerous game Daz.

As someone of Afro-Welsh ancestry, i have to ask what is hard about Ang (as in sang) plus Har (like hard without the d) plus ad (like add): Ang Har Ad.  It means "much loved one".

It's probably hard if you're a monolingual American angel

I am an American who speaks only English but it isn't any harder than Idaho.

My comment was just a bit tongue-in-cheek (which makes it hard to pronounce everything by the way)...

Note to self: if it looks mildly funny in your head: keep it there.

I wasa being tongue in cheek too...

    See... :-p

What a freakin bummer, Dude. Hair squigglies. HQ Simulation settings solved it on a re-render but I hate those things and really don't like seeing them on newly bought products.

Well *I* really like it (I notice those of Celt / Scot / Welsh heritage do!) - and find the practicality of the outfits greatly refreshing! And 4 outfits instead of 3 is welcome too.

Don't misunderstand - I really like the look of a good set of heels (provided the lady wearing them can actually *walk* in them!) and definitely have no problem with risque / revealing clothing; but in the 'right' circumstances and/or situation!  On of my BIGGEST peeves (not even a 'pet' - I have this one at the 'livestock' level!) is in movies (or books) where the person in danger stops (or continuously worries about) to put on 'proper' clothes before getting to safety!!  That slasher / monster / structure fire will have killed you, had a cigarette and gone out for drinks before they would get away! O.O
... so yes, in case the disaster hits while I am in the shower, I will be the guy running completely starkers with whatever clothing was within grabbing reach on the way to the door/window rolled up under one arm! (yes, I know - it will NOT be a pretty sight... probably as traumatic as the disaster itself to any unfortunate witnessess; but survival >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (xN) >>> 'decorum' or modesty!

I had the banner and used my PC+ coupon on the cart with the bundle in it, got the price down to $27.80, of course bought the HD add-on, and all texture sets and Castle Gravestone Halls, with the free items I selected from creatures, one character, two outfits and a hair, the PC+ free item, it was $405.85, and I paid $77.91 total.

But, other than doing metadata on the old items from RDNA of Traveler's, I have had little chance to look at the bundle. I totally missed the missing icons on Angharad 8. I had brought her up, but had to close the screen down, as I went on a tele-health call. Didn't think a naked character would be a great background. Then I was off to get a test.

I like her. She reminds me of main protagonist in 'The Keltiad' by Patricia Kennealy-Morrison.

  • Her feet look strange like a very high instep. I bet a lot of footwear will crinkle up on her feet like the past few new figures have. I've noticed this with the other latest females that a lot of footwear for G8 females have issues and do not fit well.

If I get her I may just have to dial the base G8F close to her body shape and use her head. Kind of like her face anyway. This will solve any footwear issues.

I just submitted a ticket on the dForce Cerian Nobility Outfit, as the hood will not load by itself, the icon loads the coat. The hood does load with the outfit. Just want to save you all some time.

I just want to say, I really like the different looks and although I do not wear heels anymore, when I did, these I would have worn these.

And it's too hot to do anything interesting, so here are a few of Valencia, who looks very different dialed out.  On load, she has 100 percent Angharad dialed in.

And I thought I'd try a different skin, since that really isn't the character's best feature.  Bramble to the rescue.

Oops.  That was Angharad's bod without Angharad's head.  This is the full Valencia with Bramble's skin

The ones with Kala and Daisy are my favorites for dialing in other characters!

  • Looks like they fixed the thumbnails for Angharad in the current version/update.

Also, the makeup from Angharad is not instantly apply-able like Sahira 8. You can still apply the overlays, but it also changes the underlying Face textures. Not a problem for me to work around, but others might get turned off on that.

Frankly, I cannot imagine a situation where I would ever use *any* of that makeup.

That looks great. Is the top belt attached to the corset or top? Does the top have a lot of material zones that you can make invisible?

    Thanks!

Belt is separate (under Accessories). Corset and Shirt are separate items. Bracers are part of the Shirt, and the Gloves are really just little half-gloves, which is fine.

The Shirt has many zones, but the main region is "Shirt", so you can't just hide it without making her practically naked. You need to edit/create Opacity maps on Ninian if you want to sexify it. (There IS an Opacity map with the base textures, but it seems to simply eliminate a wrap around the collar, which is odd. Must be part of the sculpt that was not wanted by the texture artist.)

OK thanks. Seems like too much work and I already have so many outfits like that. This bundle will be a pass until it's free or very deeply discounted.

Some more Daenestras.   Check file names for base models.  This is with Darcy.

Thanks for that. She's gorgeous no matter who you mix her with!

Wow! I had no interest in this character, but now that I see Angharad dialed out, I really like her!

I think you have just sold Daenestra to me without Angharad... Thanks. I was hoping not to spend anything else this month.

Wonderful work here. It took a bit yesterday and then two hours to cook the render, but here is Angharad 8.

This is a render of mine featuring Angharad 8 with Brunhild skin and make-up, created for an ongoing Platinum Club contest. I had to use a different skin on Angharad, due to the make-up from Brunhild changing the colour of her face. I ended up using the full Brunhild skin.

I like em ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Then again I also own muttiple shades of green lipstick alone in the Real World TM

and given that you can use the makeut that comes with the main daz figures on any character I already have 7 different red lips and eyeliner I can use

What does bug me though. No eyebrows presets consistently only apply to the face material zone - meaning the lips and ears still have the eyebrow texture versions - It doesnt make anything look different all that changes is that there are an extra 4 4k textures hanging out doing nothing but taking up memory in the gpu. why you do this to me daz :(

Its something I have noticed specifically on the daz core figures, which are commisioned by daz and list no other artist, so I think putting it on them generally is fair

It took me a bit as I had to finish a render, but I have made a snip of the available colors for Angharad Hair. I used it today and tested the colors. They applied okay, and if you are trying to make sure the hair is not messing with the outfit, the bright colors are useful, then change to your preferred color for the render. They are fun and useful for Anime.

Yeah, but I found it weird that the hair would be all about those neon colours when there was nothing anime about the chararacter they are named for.

I just downloaded the zip file to check and they are in there, it looks like i just forgot to include an apply/remove preset :)  If you type in Daenestra in the paramaters tab they should pull up.  Sorry about that!
