All doors to the building and all washer/dryer lids open via sliders. The barrels or drums do NOT rotate. It's a great set.

Could any owners confirm what rigging is available? From the readme there seems to be some rotate function for dryer and washer. It would be weird if the barrels rotated but the doors/lids aren't rigged.

Did the discount suddenly get removed from the King's Wash Laundromat?  It's showing up as full price for me, which is a bummer as a PC+ member.  The promo page showed it at $11.53, then in my cart it showed as $16.54 or something like...when I cleared the cart (I had another new debut release in it as well), It completely removed ANY discount (including the initial 30% off).

Can someone help?  The Laundromat is gorgeous, but I don't have the funds to purchase it at full price!

Oh and just to clarify, King Wash is like Underbelly - we worked directly with the original artist and purchased the rights to bring the content to Daz.  Like Underbelly the goal is to try and bring different/unique and high quality content to Daz users. Polish handled the conversion.  But I think the intention is to just have it listed is a Daz Original

not sure what you guys are talking about ... are you saying there are models that originally appeared in, or were sold through, other platforms that are noe being ported over to Daz as iray specific products?

You can see the original at ArtStation:  https://www.artstation.com/artwork/o698m

Wow ... the studio render looks, uhmmm, better, in a way .... more fog, less edgy I guess (I like both though), but regardless, the model seems to be exactly the same.

The lids and doors open and close.  And no, the tubs don't rotate independently.

    Some 5 minute renders attached.

Important question for me is: do the doors of the room. the washing machines and dryers open/close or not? There are some partially shown open, but no indication that they aren't fixed in position...

I could be misunderstanding the read me, but looks like the dryers, front load washers, front doors, the top load washers, and possibly side/back doors pivot on a Y or X axis. Of course I am only speculating at what I'm reading.

I meant if the DOORS of the room and included machinery can be opened/closed ;) As the washing machine and dryer come as props, I take it for granted that these can be pivoted. But it still might mean that the washing machine and dryer come as a prop with their doors locked to either a closes or partially open (as seen in the pictures) position.

I was referring to the doors. Apologies, I wasn't referring to the items themselves. smiley But it's already been confirmed anyway.

Gah, Daz and its sales. If it was a sports fisherman we'd all be thrown back in just to be caught the next day. LOL I ended up getting the laundromat and a ton of other stuff.

The original looks good, and Polish does good work.

I guess I can also use that spaceship.

EDIT: Now I am all ready with gift card balance for Victoria 9 to launch. wink

Even though I already own the i13 Laundromat (and not used it yet!), I am still tempted to pick this set up. The quality is exactly what I like to see, all the surfaces looking worn and lived in, not the sparkling new look which we see in many other sets. Even if I don't have an immediate need for a Laundromat, this set is likely to be worth it just for the quality of the included props. All in all, a very impressive package.

yeah, I picked this set up for the ambience and the texturing more than for it being a laundrymat. I have some horror, superhero and crimescene ideas to use with it more than people doing laundry, LOL

I have a much more important question!

If the place closes at 8 Monday through Thursday, and 9 on Fridays, how come you can start a wash until 9 p.m.?  I mean, if you start a wash at just before 9, that's like 40 minutes. Then you load the dryer and then figure another 45-60 minutes drying and then you take your stuff out and fold it.  You won't be done until 11.

I find the laundromat near me pretty horrifying, had to use it a few times when my washing machine broke down, some very weird people frequent it, extra scary is they all must live near me.

guess it's the drop off service, at least on weekends.. :)

Just....wow! I love it when a set renders just like the promos. Bummer that Connect puked on this one and in fact all of my purchases today, but I got them downloaded and manually installed. I think this looks fantastic.

This set will fit in very nicely with one of my stories I've been working on for decades!

I see the logic of things really keeps you busy.

Think of it like this: Kind of like stores close at, for example, 10pm, but those that get in before that can shop until they are done. Maybe that’s the answer =)

I was surprised to see that the geometry is all triangle based instead of the quads we are used to seeing. I guess this is because the geometry was originally created for a different application? Do the triangles work as well as quads in Daz Studio?

I'll be buying, but like most thing in the DAZ Store I want, eventually.

I've used a laundromat most of my life and the worse thing that ever happens was some of my cloths were stolen once. Almost as annoying was a couple of times someone apparently used the washer and/or dryer I used to do something other than wash and dry & I wound up ruining most the clothes in that load.

The most "dramatic" laundromat I saw was in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The place was locked down, and a security guard was at the door. He'd let you in if you had a basket of laundry, etc. Fortunately most apartment buildings I lived in have convenient laundry facilities.

  • WendyLuvsCatzWendyLuvsCatz Posts: 38,625

    I bought it,

I must say the deal was quite good as I got it basically for the price of the knight outfit I wanted plus it's texture addon free

and I bought it after buying a giftcard with the PC+ bed I wanted

This was an instant for me as it looks so awesome, as was Underbelly. There's so many great things coming to Daz, not only from the PA's but from outside sources, such a wonderful time to be an artist!

Here is a "daylight" render in case anyone is interested. I removed all the set lights, hid the back wall, and just used an HDRI and a single emission plane for lighting overhead.

It's an amazing set, even without the night-time atmosphere!

I love all the extra props and that you can load them individually. I am not sure how well the set will render but allowing for individual items is awesome.

Really? All the props are separate?

Wow. I don't NEED a laundromat. I can't think of any time I would render something in a laundromat. But I think I WANT this. Even if I just use the props on their own.....

edit: just to add the link to the product so it'll show up on the "forum references to this product" on the store page for those who have that add on

I own the 3DC Laundrette, the Richabri Laundry and might even have the i13 one, but I can't find it (does anyone have the EXACT product name or post a link so I can know for sure)?

Anyway, the King Laundry looks great!
