Yeah but how would I know that since there's no timer or anything on the banner?

I'd suggest using Ati's Daz-Deals browser extension, so you will get notification about when the sale starts. There is no timer on DAZ site XP, so DAZ-deals is your best bet.

Prices were not stable for me: started at $3.75 then went up to $4+; then right up. So I shall have to walk away, a bit irritated.

IDK about other people, but I was setting up a scene.  You know, with stuff bought at Daz.  You kind of have to pay attention, make decisions, fiddle with your keyboard and mouse, stuff like that.  You can't be checking your email every few minutes if you wanna do anything half-decent.  Anyway, I cleared all the old tutorials out of my cart.

    GG, Daz.

If they had a banner with a countdown clock to show how many minutes were left in the sale, they’d make a lot more money as people rushed to check out. I sometimes really wonder about the Daz marketing team...

Oh, I've come to certain conclusions about the Daz marketing team...

Same here, I can't be glued to my e-mails 24/7 just to know things by means of a third party product that the website should be telling me on its own. I'm administering an institutional home page myself, it's really web content management 101 to put a time-out stamp on items so they don't display anymore once the'yre invalidated. Oh my, and that banner is STILL up there ...

    But with different items...

So this will be a coffee night for some people.

I must have just managed to check out in time, as I did get the 5 for 5$ but then decided to see if it worked twice and the sale was over.  That's kinda a first that the sale actually only lasted for the correct amount of time , most of the 12 or 24 hour sales seems to last for days!

  • Now its a 50 minutes shader sale, but only a very limitted selection. Well, how many 50 min flash sales can we expect? Do I have to stay up all night (GMT+1)

I probably smell at least 2-3 more flash sales and there might be a big catch on sale from about 4-6 hours from now, but don't bet on it.

If we get one more in one hour, then it will be a long night....

The main problem with 50-minute sales is that Cloudflare barely syncs all nodes in such a short time. Some people may only see the banner ten minutes before the sale ends.

  • I couldn't checkout at the tutorial sale >:(   the items shown up as "in cart",but when I go to cart it was empty. Tried that several times. Later on ,when the sale was over, the items showed up. Well done DAZ!  angry

I've been seeing that recently myself  where I add an item and it shows to be in my cart but when I go to the cart it's not there and it's gotten worse

Ok, this takes some self control. Some of those shader packs look really good... but do I really need more hair or metal shaders? Not really. How often would I use those procedural shaders, interesting as they look? Probably not that often.

I did snatch Anagenessis though, I heard good things about it.

  • I'm not sure where else to ask this but it's getting more egregious. Does anyone else get stuff randomly removed from view in the store? This happens a lot with newer items where they'll take a few weeks to start showing up in the regular storefront, but lately when I go to look at sale categories I'll see way more items for a few seconds and then it'll cull a lot of them. I have to catch which ones they are really fast and then search for them directly if I want them. This happened with the tutorial sale, where it culled about 5 or 6 options (some of which I was definitely interested in).

I'm going to put in a ticket but I'm curious if it's happening to anyone else and if it's more likely to be a regular site error or some kind of recommendation algorithm wonkiness.

Got me one of those Mec4D shader sets a while ago already and it easily became my "go to" shader set whenever I needed "that special look" for items delivered with some more basic shaders/textures. So now I got me two more now wink

Wow, that’s great you got Anagenesis for $5.00. I bought it ages ago and it’s one of my most used products.

  • @plasma_ring Do you use the Daz Deal Add-on? If you do, you might have opted to hide certain items and that's why you see more for a few seconds.

  • James_HJames_H Posts: 1,046

OK, not worth waiting for something that may or may not work. So goodnight from me. Given the problems with global propagation of websites, this seems a great way to annoy people.

I do use it but as far as I know the only option to hide things I have checked is owned products. I'll try comparing with and without the addon next time I see it happen, thanks!

  • @plasma_ring Also check if you only selected certain items under the "I'm only interestd in" section. That one might be causing your issue.

Ohhh interesting--it was Daz Deals doing it, but I didn't have any filters checked to exclude stuff. It only stopped happening when I removed the extension entirely. I'll try reinstalling it, thank you for steering me in the right direction!
