So Gunnar is just a rando G8M and has no Kajaer 8 in him at all.
I got the Blacksmith bundle for effectively $10 dollars yesterday, which was a pretty good deal even if the there were items inside the bundle I didn't really need. This new bundle is $30 dollars if I add an extra item, and since I can not get the $10 dollars off as I already own the Blacksmith bundle, then it is not looking particularly tempting. I only really like Sten and one of the outfits anyway.
Well, if you got the Blacksmith bundle yesterday, you should have gotten USD 10 in Store Credit today, making it an equivalent of buying both bundles today.
Indeed I did get the $10, but I thought of it as a discount for the first bundle, not a shared discount for them both.
Still no bones in the form of a discount banner thrown to those of us who bought yesterday's bundle. Not even a discount that in my eyes is not negotiable, namely one for already owning the most expensive component since they decided to include the core figure in both bundles! I used my 20% PC+ loyalty banner yesterday, no bundle collector banner for me, and with no additional Kjaer-related banner thus far today the bundle is sitting at $38.16 in my cart.
That is a big nope from me. Do better, DAZ!
He would appear to be Runa's counterpart and she was the same, but for Freja. I'm not complaining only because him being part of the Kjaer release nets him a bigger discount and I do like him.
However, it looks like Sten also has no Kjaer 8. Have ANY of the character releases for Freja or Kjaer had any of those figures in them at all??
No, it looks like in the DAZ store new pro bundle model, including the base figure in the characters is no longer a requirement at least judging by recent changes.
I can't speak to the female figures- I don't buy them, but it looks like none of Kajaer's buddies have his genetics.
I find this change odd. I can see making it optional, but random characters with a pro bundle? I sort of think pro bundles should be to show off the base they want to sell.
Yes you can return what you bought yesterday, their 30 day return policy hasn't changed. The only exceptions are some coupons that specify you can't use it to repurchase something at a lower price, but if you're just returning something that wouldn't ever apply anyway.
Oof, that's what I thought. I don't tend to buy female characters but I did pick up Freja because I found myself with a mighty need for a ripped to hell and back female blacksmith and she was such a welcome change from the usual offerings. Going on product pages, the characters from the first bundle are well done but still more thin, conventionally pretty women and don't use Freja at all. I bought Runa (from the second bundle) separately for her geoshells, not knowing Gunnar was in the pipeline, and it's the same.
I wouldn't mind the rando characters as add-ons released around the time of the core bundles, but I completely agree that having them as parts of the bundles themselves is just weird. I also wish we'd go back to the actual pro bundle format, rather than what amounts to having to buy multiple less-than-pro bundles that each have pro pricetags -- and sometimes not even with a discount on the second one. It was cheaper, you didn't end up with two parts that both included the most expensive component that you're now being asked to pay for twice (??!!), and things felt more cohesive when they were built around a figure instead of a theme. Sometimes it was both and it worked really, really well.
As an aside, can you think of any good blacksmith poses? I can't find any in the store that aren't for M3. Somehow none of the bundles that have a blacksmith outfit include a separate pack of smithing poses. Yesterday's bundle only had a couple of basic poses with the outfit, choosing once again to put combat poses in the smithing bundle. Freja's outfit didn't have any at all, though I prefer male poses (or FeralFey) in the very rare instances that I load up a female figure since they're less likely to be built around towering stilettos and contorted spines.
I haven't seen any blacksmith poses, but perhaps if you can find some hammer wielding carpentry poses it might be adjsutable.

Looks like there's an automatic discount on the Plunder Bundle but not everyone who bought the Blacksmith Bundle gets it. DAZ "deals" get more selective by the day. Oh well, it's saving me money! Bundle dumped. There are only a couple real must-haves for me in there today, the rest would just have been nice-to-haves.

I received a coupon yesterday. I put the plunder bundle a gift card and some textures in the cart. It dropped the plunder bundle down, and I got a 32 percent discount on a gft card, so the Plunder bundle, and extras were essentially free.
Here is Gunnar. His promos have him sporting a beard, but it wasn't included with him, so I left it off. His package includes fibermesh hair, geoshell warpaints, and gens.
Those were "basic poses with the outfit" that I mentioned in regards to yesterday's bundle. I'm more interested in buying an entire pack of poses that include a greater variety of activities.
I got the PC+ loyalty coupon yesterday and that was it. I also used it yesterday because DAZ does not like telling us when things expire, and I'm glad I did because that bundle had better value to me. I also bought a gift card but my discount was only 28% after everything stacked.
I did not receive the automatic 20% discount specifically for the Plunder Bundle that someone who purchased the Blacksmith Bundle posted a Messages screenshot of over on the sales thread. It looks like I should have received it yesterday if I was going to get it, but evidently I'm not one of the privileged ones.
That's okay, I'll give the money saved by ditching the bundle to someone over on Rendo.
Would it be possible to correct Kjaer's name for this thread? It throws me for a loop everytime I see it thinking I may be spelling it wrong.
The only full set of poses are know of are these for M3, ie 5 generations ago.

I have converted poses from Generation 3 to Genesis 8, and they do sort of work, but naturally you have to tweak them afterwards, particularly the hands.
Yeah, those were the ones I found. I've contemplated buying them and trying to convert, but not at $10. That set is over 12 years old and for Michael 3, lol. Gonna wait until they go as low as they can considering their age and how much work I would need to put in.
It just seems so weird that we now have multiple blacksmith outfits (or at least ones marketed as such, realistic or not) for G8, at least six environments that either are forges or could pass as forges with a bit of tweaking, the Master Smith props set for G3, and yet not a single set of smithing poses since the ones for Michael 3. Nothing for any of the Genesis figures, not even anything for Michael 4!

Think I'll sign off for the rest of the night, though, or at least for a few hours. The way DAZ has handled this entire release has me too angry to be on the forums right now. If it's any indication of how they plan to handle bundles going forward, leaving us paying twice as much or more by breaking them into multiple parts, no discounts on the second half for buying the first, double-dipping by including the core figure twice and not compensating prior owners ($10 store credit does not count, that has been given on previous bundles that did not require paying for the same content twice), I doubt I'll be buying any more of them.

Yeah the coupon wasn't working for me. I did buy the bundle because I didn't want to lose out on the discounts, so hopefully by submitting a ticket, it will be rectified and I'll get something back. I have no idea. This entire release was the worst yet deal consistency-wise.

Kjaer Blacksmith Bundle. I could not get the outfit to simulate at all I tried to even with a basic pose and still got errors......

as aways the poly count is the 'base" vertice count and only outfit props like weapons would be optional and if possible the numbers for each piece if it have "too much pieces then the total would be fine, i'm thinking in buy it today but need to know first the numbers.
