I was wondering where an appropriate place to post Star Trek themed renders that DO NOT relate to the creation/building of objects/models. I think this is an amazing thread filled with very talented people, and have found models of many great ships and such through it. But it doesn't really appear to be appropriate to post renders of other Star Trek themed images, so I was wondering if there is one on the Daz forums, and if not, is there any particular place that people think stands out above the others in terms of community?

I post Trek renders in this thread all the time and I don't really make anything. I model a few simple props as needed just for my own purposes, but i am far from being a modeler. I think those who do make these amazing models enjoy seeing how people use them, at least i hope they do.

Actually this IS the place to post ST renders [keeping mind the TOS of the forum of course as there are no adult filters].
Of course DA as some have suggested is also a good place as they have adult filters and one can post much larger images.

Some post a teaser size photo here and the larger one at DA.

And I'm dropping in again to make mention of a new wall. This is a decorative type wall which was seen on some planets, with statues and greenery posted around it.

Anyone know where I can find a pair of knee-high boots for V4? I just want a regular pair of boots- no straps, no buckles. I'm finding every kind of boot except that.
I can't make heads or tails of the Daz store anymore. You ask for one thing and you get buried in junk you didn't ask about.

Sorry Robert, that's not quiet what I was looking for. I just want a standard boot with a normal heel- thicker than those have. But I do thank you.

I am so glad I found the forum pages for Star Trek relating to Daz. I have been pulling stuff from the Sketchup 3d Warehouse for ideas to create my own ship/scene. Luckily with the help of 3ds-max I can export things at the right scale for Daz3d.

Just have to remember to adjust the scale setting to 1 instead of the default 0.1 value it has when you tell it to export the *.obj file with the Daz Studio scale selection.

Need to go back through the Sketchup warehouse to get the names of the developer of some of the full items that I have used in my current scene before I go posting it anywhere.

mutter, mutter, mutter .... aahhh ... found the page!

Okay ... we have a new Main Viewer for TOS Bridge(s).

    http://patience55anotherone.deviantart.com/art/MainViewer-nc-507095407

Several D/S mats, textures in folder so others can make their program specific mats too ;-)

D/S prop file AND a D/S .obj file.

    Enjoy.

Is there a way in Daz to make those rings around the nacelles go away instead of just finding an awkward angle to the model?

You could try adjusting the smoothing angle for the surface in the Surfaces pane, but it looks like bad geometry - possibly there are extra cap polygons across the cylinder at those points, confusing the smooth shading algorithm.

In Poser, if you uncheck the "Smooth Polygons" option that usually fixes it. Is there not a version of that in Daz?

In DAZ in the surface tab and select all the surfaces, go to the bottom, right below the smooth tab is the angle tab change the 89.9 to 25.0 and that will fix it
