Nice work, Rick. That engineering room came out pretty good.

    Thanks for the chair, Cath.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make a custom ship design, or where to get ship componants (like engines saucer sectons and the like) using daz studio? I'm trying to create a 3d model of a ship I had once designed for the FASA Star Trek RPG, and wrote a short story about, and want to do some animations of it.

Are you talking about a new arrangement of standard starfleet elements ala the Constitution class or original pieces? Because if you want standard pieces, there's Greywolf's kit at DA:

Actually the answer is yes, both. I would need to combine existing elements with newly created custom parts to make the ship I have in mind.

Thanks for the link, that will be a good start.

Actually the parts I will need are - the Relient saucer (modified with the front (from bridge center) stretched by 25%), ST- motion picture (or "A" Enterprise) engine pylons, TOS Engines, STMP engines (yes I'm combining both designes into a new one, and a "A" type engineering hull that is 3x longer than that of Enterprise, the botany section windows willl be the length of the Enterprise secondary hull and the torpedoe pod from relient (used in multiple places)

I may be able to modify the parts in the kit to soot my needs, if not I would still like to know how to create my own custom ship parts for some non-starfleet cannon aliens that I created for the same game. As well as being able to create the creatures themselves.

Does anyone have a pattern for a 7 fingered hand, that has an opposing thumb on both sides of the hand? or a 7 toed human style foot?

Hmm ... I did read that people found an pre-flood earth occupant in a spacecraft on the moon that had 12 digits per hand/foot. They didn't provide drawings though, just a face photo. And there are records of 12 digited giant folk having been uncovered in America but again as soon as the archaeologists did their bit, the {you know} did their bit. So again, we have no drawings. Think of all the rings they could wear!

Updated link for the red alert light, now has 2 versions, one straight and one slanted.

The red light is actually on the transporter-room main console. There are two as I recall, one on each side of the blue intercom partially-shown in the upper right of the image above, to the right of the red light. Then again, my memory ain't what it used to be. :ohh:

Ack, this is STLegends, on my alternate account. Sorry. See what I mean by memory?....

Hmmm, didn't load that small in my programs ... you could resize to be one if you want to though, it's just a reshaped cube ;-)

Only thing missing, as far as I can tell, is the control panel for the Warp Core.

You sure it's turned invisible for the picture?

I've checked, and there's nothing hidden when I load the scene. To clarify, the panel I'm talking about is the one that rides the lower railing around the warp core. unfortunately, I haven't found a good picture to show it.

According to what I can find, there's only one console section and a rail:

Exactly. Engine Room 3 doesn't have the console, just the railing.

Like the Romulan emblem. Looks good for the Next Gen era.

That would be an awesome Christmas gift! Even without it though, the set is pretty cool. Gonna have to find a Klingon morph somewhere...

Does anybody know of a good brush/technique/how to "erase with straight edges even around curves"?
I love the photo editing program I have but the eraser brush "hacks" the edges on curves [pixel thing and I don't want feathering].

    edit, nm, found solution :-)
