Got it. don't know if I'll ever have need of it, but the render looks great.

I seem to be on an office kick lately.

over 90% of this one was built using pieces I had on hand from earlier projects.

    Question:

Was it ever stated on film that the 1701-E was the first Sovereign class ? Or was it just one of the first?

    Nice office Madison.

As for the sovereign class, memory alpha should have the answer, but I don't recall it being stated that the enterprise was the first in the sovereign class on the show.

Thank you for the office comment. I'm putting the zip file together now. As for the 1701-E, I didn't think I'd ever heard it said.

Here's the next uniform I'm working on (plus an alternate set), Circa 25th-26th century uniform influenced by Star trek FuturesEnd. (I had to rework this from an earlier post)

It features an optional no-sleeve look for a casual duty uniform. I will be using the TNG divisional colors.

Please let me know what you think.

I like the versions with sleeves better. The other version reminds me of Kirk's sleeveless tunic in "Mirror, Mirror".

I prefer the ones with full sleeves too. The sleeveless one has too high a cut under the arms. Not that one would need "muscle shirt" type cuts but a little lower would look better. Also too much collar stuff for a sleeveless top. My 2 cents.

Sleeves please... the sleeveless just looks out of place, russ.

Madison, many thanks for the admiral's office.

Thanks all for the feedback... I was originally planning to give a optional "captain runner" look to a uniform....thinking if might be a nice uniform version.

    http://www.daz3d.com/captain-runner

But, I don't need to include the "no-sleeves" options then.

It's going to be awhile before I post this new set, I found I have to re-work the material properties on the STO10b for both V4 and M4, there's a issue with the specular settings and bump maps I need to fix first.

In Star Trek, the ship's class name was also the name of the first vessel in that class; for example, the USS Constitution was the first vessel in the Constitution Class, the USS Intrepid was the first vessel of the Intrepid Class, and presumably there was a USS Sovereign for the Sovereign Class.

First Contact DID state that the 1701-E was the most advanced ship in the fleet, however.

That's what's confusing. In our world, there are times when the class ship only appears in the blueprints. If she's the most advanced in the fleet, it sounds like she was the first Sovereign class ship built.

I was over at Shargecg and stunbled across a different Auxiliary Control Room from the one I put together:

Not necessarily, since lead ships in any Star Trek ship class are pretty much test beds for new technologies and design ideas. That's why they have the NX designation, to mark them as experimental. It's only after the ships have been tested and the designs finalized that they go into production.

But in the case of the 1701-E if she's the most advanced ship in the fleet....

    Wait.

It's also not unusual for ships of the same class to receive upgrades between ships. So while the Sovereign may have been built, it's possible that there were design changes- and upgrades introduced into the "E" that her older sister didn't get. That would make her the most advanced ship with being the first one built. Right?

Yes, that's the work of Alt1701. He also released the TOS 2nd/3rd season engine room, as well as the SpinDrift from "Land of the Giants", the junkyard ship from "Salvage One" and the 'Bots from "Mystery Science theater 3000".

    Sincerely,

    Bill

It looks good. At least now folks have a choice.

Thanks for telling me about The "Salvage One" ship, Bill. Went back and grabbed it. I liked the movie pilot. It was better than the series. A show like that always has a problem after they do their biggest story for the pilot. None of the stories in the series really measured up.

I'm going to jump off topic for a second. Victoria 4. Where are the basic hand morphs? grasp, finger movements and so on. Do all these morphs have to be downloaded individually? I had a devil of a time tracking down the basic mouth movements.

Poser or DS? The standard hand controls in Poser are supplied by Poser for a figure set-up in the standard way, so the V4 CR2 doesn't include them. I can't recall whether Morphs++ includes Pose Controls that could be used instead - if not multi-selecting will work for some things.

Hand grasp morphs for V4 are in Morphs++ In Poser you have a "inject morphs++" pz2 which injects all the morphs in one go, or you can just inject the one called "Grasp" on it's own.

I have the morph injection icons in my runtime. But when I click on them, nothing happens.
