Well, the info is above, but, as I pointed out, the procedure did not work for me. OOPS! I apologize. No, it isn't. It's actually (the recipe) in the Auto Face Enhancer Forum. Link: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/317856/auto-face-enhancer-commercial/p27
Start with page 27, and read on into page 28. I did not get this to work for me, however.
@inquire There IS something else that's virtually identical by the same vendor (but it has dForce start poses that add other options), although it's at the other store.
Wait, there's a dForce version? I think my favorite style in the other one is the ponytail that gets used in a lot of the Trance promos, which the dForce one doesn't have, but the loose styles look great. Definitely gonna pick it up, for whenever I have a computer that can handle it.
They've got quite a few awesome-looking natural hairstyles. Wish I'd realized they had a shop there earlier!
He actually has his own website now: https://www.sdebstore.com/
That's awesome, thank you, James! Lordie, the things I manage to miss. Gonna go check it out pronto. :)
OK, I did get the Expressions to work. This will probably work for you. You have to follow this exactly. Don't get confused by any other locations or folders:
If you want to Get the Expressions for G8.0 to work for the G 8.1 MALE, then you need to take the BASE POSE HEAD and the EXPRESSIONS folders from:
My DAZ 3D Library/data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 8/Male 8_1/Morphs/Daz 3D/
REMOVE THESE: Base Pose Head and Expressions
As you scroll down, you will find other locations that seem similar, so be sure you go to exactly this location. Write a note to yourself about exactly where you took these folders from. I stored them on my desktop. Probably also good to do this while DAZ Studio is not running. Then, restart. Supposedly, this won't mess anything up. But, if it does, I'm going to put these folders back.
OK, so does anyone know: Will following this procedure cause any problems? I hope not. But I'm keeping the removed folders so I can replace them.
@xyer0: OK, thanks very much for telling me. I already bought the product, though, and I really don't use dForce because it takes so much time on my computer.
I'm totally not seeing any way to squeeze the brows together (center front) on either 8.1 figure. G8F can do this. All I'm seeing is brow up/down, in various permutations. Am I missing something?
That was removed from 8.1 to get it back you have to remove the folders stated previously that enables use of the old 8 morphs.
Interesting. I wonder why DAZ did that. Did they feel that it looks unnatural on the 8.1 figure?
I was just going to ask that. It seems like such a basic human expression.
I finally got a render I love. Sir Michael is a keeper, he's got a story just bubbling underneath the surface... I just need to find it. He's 100% Michael 8.1, 22% Hudson, and 5% Christian 8 with a slightly more angular jaw. I aged him 20% with Zev0's Aging Morphs. Hair is Heath for G3M, and outfit is Hunter Gear for G3M. Oh - and his beard is CC Beard Boss. I don't think I put much expression on him, maybe a little quirk of the mouth.
@Daventaki, so, how do we get it back, exactly?
Any comments / renders related to https://www.daz3d.com/natural-eyes-ii-for-genesis-81-females-and-males
I just renamed the folders and it worked fine. No losing anything. By the way, if you aren't using the standard library set up, look for [your library name]/data...
Here's a sample:
I just installed them and as soon as M8.1 loads, I'll give them a whirl...
Oh, I like the Natural Eyes. There are dozens of colors, 20 different colors in each shade (so 20 blues, 20 greens), available in both the new PBR Skin Shader and Iray Uber. The best part is that all the images are actually different irises, rather than just colored overlays applied in Photoshop.
Here's a sample.
Very nice, RenderScot. He's different from the others that been posted.
Here's an even closer view of the Natural Eyes, one in green. This was only 63% completed and it's just out of the box, no HD or anything special.
Oh, that's very interesting. What did you rename the folders? And, you just left them in place after renaming them? And everything works fine? Maybe that's a better solution than moving them. So, what names did you give them?
I added .SAV at the end of each. And left them right where they were.
@sandmanmax: Thanks for the info.
Looks great, sandmanmax, thanks for posting.
Can someone explain to me why this is happening to my Michael 8.1? Unless I missed it, I don't see anyone having issues rendering Michael 8.1's skin.[see attached images] All I get is white despite it looking like the surface maps all loaded correctly. I'm stumped. I'm not having this same issue rendering out the base G8.1 figures. Just Michael 8.1. and the material I load using any G8 Males while keeping the surface settings look like crap!

You aren't using a version of Daz Studio lower than 4.15 by any chance?
Hey there,
I also have the problem, that my G8 expressions do not work on G8.1.
I read this thread, but do not understand what to do... Maybe anyone can explain, what
or
means? What exactly do I have to do to get the G8 expressions to work?
Thanks :)
Check this thread by Matt_Castle. FYI Use at your own risk, as far as I know noone who has done this has had any issues but there maybe some. You would just look in the Male 8_1 instead of the female.
That question made me stop for a second. I thought I'd had the latest update. I thought 4.15 was still in beta. Since I don't use DIM for much, I wasn't even notified anywhere that there was a public update. I rarely install the beta builds. One would think they could let a body know when they open the software that there's an official update for the software you're using. Every other piece of software I own notifiies me of the fact there's a newer version when I open the actual software.
Can I say I think it's the dumbest idea I've ever seen where nowhere on the sales page when I bought the Micheal 8.1 bundle did it say does NOT work with previous versions of Daz Studio. The base Genesis 8.1 materials seem to work fine under DS 4.14. It's the only reason I decided to go ahead and buy the Michael bundle. I didn't think I had to worry about updating again as I only just updated to 4.14 a few months ago.
The only issue I had was with Michael 8.1. What's so different between DS 4.14 and DS 4.15 that causes the materials not to work properly on Michael when they seem to work fine on the base models?
Sigh. I have updated Daz Studio to 4.15 and Michael 8.1 seems to now be working. Miffed but moving on.
