    Looks great, Wendy.

I have played with material layers in Vue. They came handy when one wants to achieve for example some glassy look.
    Used polyps and also http://www.daz3d.com/the-gargantual

Thanks a lot, SickleYield and Cris.
I have just rediscovered Vue again, and SickleYield bundle gave me an excuse to experiment with it even more :)

One of the first things I thought of when seeing this product, was to try and combine the tentacle with one of the other creatures (via parenting) for a monster's 'feeding' tongue.

After scaling the tentacle down to 7.5% (and the other beast much lower), I encountered some weird chunky effects with some of the materials (not the black, strangely) and messaged Sickleyield on how to fix this. It seemed to be primarily down to the displacement setting and, while I still can't quite achieve the desired effect with some, it now works for most!

Here's the end test result. :)

Mostly effective, but my attempt to hide G2F's actual tongue left some weirdness in the mouth. So, I'll just have to hope that nobody notices there's still a real tongue in there, if I use this technique in future!

Also being used for the body is one of Sickleyield/Fuseling's HD pre-sets from their excellent Wondrous Creatures product, which I highly recommend.

Wow. I really like that xenomorphine! Great use for the tentacle! Now all she needs is some slobber on that tongue.

Very cool Lovecraftian-critters! Thanks for creating these things! I'll find a comfy, multi-dimensional corner for them :)

Yeah, might try something from the Liquid Pack if I ever use that idea for a 'proper' art render. Not sure if it has anything like 'stringing drool' in it, though! Those 'Ron's Brushes' sets look amazing, but I've never been able to install brushes right in Photoshop Elements 9.
