I'm sadly very disappointed. I've been seeing a lot about NFTs lately, but just not seeing the benefit to my life. Besides, I already have a DAZ product addiction. I don't need another one.
Jason
PS. As of right now, the DAZ collection is going for .22 ETH or roughly $404.39, WOW! I think the images are cool, but not that cool.
Which 3D print? There was a service which allowed people to buy prints of a limited number of (pre-posed as I recall) characters diect from Daz (fulfilled by a third party, of course), which vanished; there is the later service, with associated plug-in, in which the whole intraction is with a third-party - as far as I am aware that is still available.
A long-time fan of Shudu and Cameron’s work, Ama, a beauty, fashion, art and culture journalist, was compelled to take on the voice and craft Shudu’s soul. To Ama, Shudu is real, and she wants her to be as real to everyone else too.
I'm laughing so hard my sides hurt.
How can I break into Digital Model Voice Acting/Soul Crafting business?
I really wish Daz would hire a marketing survey company to poll its users for what we want. I've never in my life seen a more tone deaf company that ignores its own user base. This whole NFT thing is just another glaring example of it.
I still want to find a voice actress for my Sahmika one day, so anything's possible Ch1ggs. Plus, Sahmika has...facial expressions. ;)
At a guess, I'd say that most people are excited about updates and improvements to Daz Studio, and new content to (one day) render. This NFT stuff? Not so much.
( edited as I put it in the wrong thread)
If only that were so...
No offense intended, Richard, but you are missing the point I was making.
It frustrates me to no end that DAZ3D would be wasting resources on these projects that are forgotten as quickly as they are adopted... When there are so many more meaningful things those resources could be going towards.
Say fixing the website / storefront, since the search is still broken. Fixing the forum. Fixing the content library managemen. Investing in customer support and quality control.
Instead the resources are swirled down this fad that will go no where.
I'm sorry for sounding so combative, but I've sat through meetings like this where some middle management puke or recently acquired VP has this "brilliant idea" that they want everyone to start working on immediately. I can't count how many of those meetings I just stood up and walked out on.
NFTs are unique, correct? So, if you sell a NFT, it can't be purchased again by anyone else.
So, explain to me how you can have a shop, where the items can only be sold once? The shop wouldn't last very long, right?
Kind of reminds me of those adverts you sometimes see on Ebay, like.. "one inch nail a bit rusty and slightly bent, but plenty of life left in it only £5"
Someone said there are bids, but I can't see them either. DAZ apparently owns two of them now? (they now say 'not for sale').
EDIT: bids are now appearing under each item. Hm.
Do you mean the QC where they do eradicate all issues before product release, or do you mean the QC where they fix every broken product within one hour? Just asking.
It would have been better as an elaborate April fools joke.
It is described in the "Details" section. Not too great. You can unlock a full 1080p video, or get a 1to1 with Cameron Wilson.
If that was correct, how would an antique shop do business? They sell their antiques, and then the get a load more to sell, which I guess is what DAZ will do if/when their current batch of NFTs sell out.
Can't say I am as bothered about all this as some people (apart from the enviromental impact of course). Whilst I personally have less than zero interest in buying this stuff, if others do, I guess that is more money for the artists/DAZ to invest in other stuff that I do like. I just hope the NFT stuff remains separate from the standard store so that I can happily ignore it.
Which is exactly why I am spending the morning deleting my DAZ Gallery.
Do I think my images would ever be used by DAZ for this endeavour? Not really.
But I have never been so disilluioned in this hobby before this morning.
Jason, DAZ would need to ask your permission before doing anything anyway. No need to go fleeing the store, best to just ignore this and keep making art like 99% of us will.
I can't even see it. The page just has wheels that spin. Plus now the forums are hard to reach.
That's one thing I'm not worried about. Individuals may try to sell our art without our permission, but DAZ would have to post a notice saying that anything in the galleries may be used as NFTs before doing such a thing, and everyone would pull their art.
Yeah, It's been up for an hour now and I'm still having problems getting the new NFT sites to fully load. Not sure what's happening on DAZ's end, but the rollout clearly isn't going according to plan.

the license says:
so no, they can't sell your art as I understand that (and I think it's pretty unambiguous).
