One thing that puzzles me about the new bundles is the inclusion of an opposite gender character. (See also, Brooke's bundle.) If the idea is to appeal to a broader audience it seems poorly thought out. I personally buy mostly male content, so the inclusion of a female I'd literally never even install adds zero value to the package and just inflates the price. Ditto for the folks who buy mostly female content (Brooke again.) It also seems a bit unfair to the PAs who made Zak and Meg, as those figures don't get their own promotion, but are lost in the shadow of the main character.

The head morph is a nice enough addition to the gene pool. The body is -- as you carefully did not say -- so non-descript as to be . . . unworthy of comment.

I think I just broke my own brain.

@CauriB Great job! You saved his papadum. He needs the Bollywood hair to frame his face, I guess. But he's still too Pixar for my tastes. If I may ask, did you morph his face a bit?

I like the car and that's it. I would have bought the clothes but when I see the pants as giant cylinders, I won't even waste my time.

My issue with the Funk clothing other than the tube look, is the pockets are absurdly huge. Imagine trying to get your keys out of those.

The Max outfit has coat sleeves so long they cover half the hands in most of the promos. Again, starting that car is going to be a chore with that coat on.

As for the car itself, the textures on the grille in particular are very odd looking. As if there's not enough geometry there to support a decent texture. This shows up even in the texture add-on. The interior looks off to me as well. I guess the PA was going for "aged" but it looks overly spotty for lack of a better term.

I want to buy male bundles, but the quality just isn't here on this one for me.

Whilst I'm all for options for the 'bnd' (bloke next door), eg. not an olympic swimmer, gladiator or some other fitness freak, it's almost like they forgot to finish the torso here - it looks like a toon. Even the HD morph seems to neglect this area. It is not a suitable counterpart to Jacqueline.

Nah they are counterparts (see the resemblance: the 2008 movie Get Smart)

I didn't say they weren't, I said that he is not suitable.

Steve Carell looks like a human being and not a cartoon character, even next to Anne Hathaway.

I hope this is the right thread to ask this, What outfit is the guy in the middle wearing? It doesn't seem to be part of the Jazz undercover bundle.

No morphs on the face :-)

I can use him with Torment dialled in. I like his profile. But no, not a character I'd pick up without the SP.

This pose made me laugh. But I also have to wonder, is this supposed to be a comic set ?

    Cause this is patently ridiculous

And, unfortunately, all the facial and collarbone detail there is coming from Torment. Maybe the newer characters have usefulness as mix-ins, but that would be their ONLY value, and a small one at that. I mean, you're even using Torment's skin. indecision

It's all of Torment's body, about 70/30 (I think) of Jazz/Torment for the head, plus Torment's eyebrows, because, yeah, but that is Jazz's skin.

You  made the skin look good there then ;). I was thrown off by the mole...lol. I know Torment has one on or near his collarbone ;).

I'm just thankful to get another male character who isn't some genre like Anime or alien. I like him.

  • Can't say much about the character itself but I do like much of the bundle. Like the car and clothing and being from that era myself I've  actually wore  some clothes similar to what's in the bundle, ( yeah I had a couple of leisure suits and a pair of platform shoes), but the clothing comes pretty close to that time. Play that funky music is playing in my head now. Great bass line in that song but I am a bassist lol.

I like his head morph, I don't think he looks toon (not that I would mind that). He looks kind and I think he does bring something a little different to the gene pool.

His skin seems fine, if not all that special.

His body morph is... really bad. And not because he's skinny. Elijah 7 is a skinny dude and has a much more interesting body morph.

Regardless of the era, I wouldn't like the clothing as it appears molded out of plastic. It reminds me of something I wouldn't have bought for M4. As for Jazz himself, I've seen exactly one render of him I liked, and that was head only. Attached to the body, he looks deformed.

Good to know. I shall dial in Torment anytime I want to use this character as he looks great this way. I could see this guy being a hardened undercover cop.

As a whole I see a lot being mentioned of about him looking toon. I really like toon style characters, I render more of that than photo real, but it has to be a toon character, not a character that they're trying to look like a real person that ends up having toon-like skin which is what I've been seeing from some recent releases. If we're going to go toon, give us more characters like Yuzuru (heck, pick any character from Crocodile Liu, I have them all). Gosh, I would love more options of a male Yuzuru kind of toon character. But not for the Season Pass as toon is such a niche market from what I see folks render here that it wouldn't be fair to the people who bought the pass to cater to a small percentage. I'd be happy, but I would feel horrible for everyone else that is expecting what we normally see in core characters.

I just looked though and the bundle is only 22 bucks. Between the car and the hair, that's the cost of the bundle pretty much, and I like the hat in the Max outfit...add in the PC+ coupon and I actually can't pass the bundle up for that price.

I was tempted by the clothing until I realized that there were no real promo shots. Just front, back and untextured. I'm thinking they probably don't look good in the field.

I like the hair and will probably get that.

The head is ok but it seems to float in a grey area between toon and realistic.

The body looks pre-pubescent to me. Elijah 7 was rail thin but it looked like he'd been through puberty. This guy's body looks like it's never seen a drop of testosterone.

The HD morph shows some detailing in the face and limbs but it looks like they skipped over the torso entirely.

I've held out for a long time but I'm starting to believe the conspiracy theories that Daz is attempting to deliberately tank sales of male characters and clothing.

Maybe his head morph could be used for an Arab or Indian character.

He looks pretty good here. Did you change the skin settings? It looks better (though still lacking in some detail).

No, I think he was straight out of the box for skin here.

I do like his morph but not his skin. Will probably get him someday in a mega sale only because he kind of reminds me of Stephen Lobo, a Canadian actor I like in one of my favorite sci-fi TV shows, Contiuum.
