I can dig it!
Lol
This is a great character. I have absolutely NO use for 70s era urban action flick materials, BUT I still want to add her to my runtime. Such a fun set.
No Orange banner for me again (but the day is young).
Look out, Jada is going to get you sucker! Lol
If someone has the time, could you post some examples of the scaling and other morph options of Soto's new afro? Thanks.
edit: Also, does Jada have a no-makeup face option with no eyebrows as well?
Jada 8.1 uses the Makeup channel in the 8.1 PBR setup. There's only a face with a brow or no brow. Then you add the Makeup via the Makeup channel on top of that face.
While I like Jada, I find the rest of her bundle missing my target area by leagues. Nevertheless, I do acknowledge that it quite certainly appeals to other artists.
The pricing seems a bit higher than some oplder bundles, but the deal with other bundles is not overly bad, and I even got an orange banner with extra 15% off, plus 20% off any Genesis 8.1 bundles.
Jade's is not a bad bundle, just not my cup of tea. Jada herself went straight to my cart, though. I love her eyes and smile, and the fact that her height does not make any nearby telegraph poles turn green with envy.
The only thing I do find strange is the plastic, unnatural look of her nose on this promo, even though it could be caused by lighting, depth of field and/or postwork:
Hint: I added 4 starter bundles to trigger the discount of the sale. After I owned the pro bundles of the starter bundles the price was reduced to $0 for the starter bundle, but I still got the 4 bundle discount for Jada
So, she's an undercover hooker? o.O I'm not getting it.
Someone at Daz has been watching 70s blaxploitation of a certain type. I think Pam Grier actually did do a certain amount of this type of thing -- "Sheba Baby" and, I think, "Coffy", and I don't know what else -- and there was a short-lived television series called "Get Christie Love!" that also had a lot of this sort of thing. (Not an undercover hooker -- not always, anyway, although there was some of that -- just a lot of undercover work.) (And if you're interested, the pilot movie for Get Christie Love is apparently a copyright orphan and is available at archive.org if you want to see what that was like. Come to think of it, so is Sheba Baby.)
I'm just kind of surprised at three 70s themed bundles in a row. And what's with all the J names? Are Jacqueline, Jazz and Jada all undercover cops together? Will we be getting a 70s police precinct next, and a one-off grizzled older guy to be the police captain (either corrupt or with a secret heart of gold, one or the other)? (If we do get the police captain, all I ask is that they not name him Jack or John. Got enough of those already.)
She's gorgeous, and I'm sad that there was a lot of attention to detail and consideration that went into her compared to Jazz. Jazz looks like a standard character, not a core character, while Jada fits the Core Character look. Oh well.
nice, but still looking a bit chalky in some of the promos, but this is a female character I would buy for sure, even though I have too many females already, base, vendor, and about 200 morph characters.
I got the price down to $47.32 for the bundle, which is still high but $5.81 per product. Works out to 66% off, close to my 70% requirement.
Question: Do you think it would be easy to apply a hat on the Stack Perm Hair ?

lol in the NYPD the captain would be called "boss".
Is anyone else not seeing the three translusency settings? It says on the product page that there are three and I only have the maps, normals, and SSS settings (and the stuff like eyes and makeup). I've installed it now through DIM, Central, and manually from the zips on the product page. Just wondering if I'm alone in this as it would somehow be a user error then instead of a Daz issue. Sure, I can go and change the translucency in the settings but it's nice to have the button as well.
No orange banners for me. No sale. I can’t remember the last time I got an orange banner for a bundle. I used to always get orange banners and bought all the bundles. Then the orange banners stopped so I stopped buying bundles...

I had to change translucency settings in the surface tab. No buttons in the pack. Installed through DIM.

Okay, thanks for letting me know that it's not a user error on my end lol. I'll put in a ticket later today but I'll just keep putzing around with the settings in the surface tab until/if it gets worked out. Thanks!

Stack Perm Hair ?
I use SickleYield's Hat & Hair Helper to accomplish this kind of thing.
For whatever reason, Stack Perm Hair is resistant to morphing by the Hat & Hair Helper. I'm not sure why. Maybe a different hair technology.
(not saying it's aliens, but it's aliens)
It may be tough to get it to match up well with a hat? You could try to Parent to the Head, then use some other deformer to TRY to morph the hair under a hat... but Hat & Hair Helper for G8F does not seem to work here. I didn't seem to have success with a primitive torus as a hair shaper, either... but I didn't try for long... and then it locked up my computer, so I gave up.

Joyous Jada - Quick portrait with Boss Lights
Shes absolutely gorgeous one of few caracters I've just straight up audibly gone "wow" upon rendering
she's HERE!!!
If someone has the time, could you post some examples of the scaling and other morph options of Soto's new afro? Thanks.

Looks great. Skipping the bundle, but Jada's a buy.

LOL. Okay, she transformed into an "undercover civilian" (LOL wut).
Anyway, I get multiple Orange Banners because I'm super elite and stuff.
Trigger conditions for my banners:
I'm not sure if there are other orange banners.
While I like Jada, I find the rest of her bundle missing my target area by leagues. Nevertheless, I do acknowledge that it quite certainly appeals to other artists.

Love her!

This is one of the few characters that have impressed me in a long time! Great job, Daz!
I really like her. Skipping the bundle.
The bundle is so much nicer than Jazz's bundle.
Ooh! I love Zazie Beetz!!
Just been feelin' the 1970s flavor everywhere in fashion lately.
She's gorgeous, and I'm sad that there was a lot of attention to detail and consideration that went into her compared to Jazz. Jazz looks like a standard character, not a core character, while Jada fits the Core Character look. Oh well.
LOL, my gallery don't work. *sigh*
Okay, back to attaching.
Jazz definitely felt strangely unfinished in comparison to Jada.

OH ... I got paid today.
lol in the NYPD the captain would be called "boss".
I like this figure. Not so crazy about the theme for the last three bundles, but rarely I see a bundle I need as a whole. The character alone will do.
So far all the 8.1 characters were OK, except for Jazz who's unfinished. Jacqueline merely is remarkably unremarkable.
