    What survey?

  • TorquinoxTorquinox Posts: 3,636

If you're on the Daz mailing list, Daz sent out a mail with link to a survey on 5/26. The response period ended 5/31 . They offered a $10 store credit for completing it.

One thing that was not mentioned is when the store credit would happen. I'm betting on 1 April 2031.

    Regards,

    Richard.

June 6. It was on the final screen. I meant to do a screen cap, but I was in a hurry and closed out the window. So, hoping for the best there.

    Expect delivery by CreditPigeon.

Actually, if it were a real financial service it would be spelled stupidly... KrditPyjin or something dumb like that... it would have a useless app and in the commercials they'd pronounce it like "credit pigeon" even though the letters used in the spelling don't really work like that.

Ahh, thanks. I thought I may have seen something like that, but a seive holds more than my brain at the moment and some things seem to disappear faster than others. Getting paid to do a survey is a nice idea when on the receiving end & certainly don't usually run across that sort of thing.

Yeah, I hate surveys like that...

Please pick the answer that best describes how you feel about our product.

    A- I love it.

B- I really, really love it.

C- I wish I could love it bareback wearing a chinchilla costume.

D- Without it life is meaningless.

    E- All of the above.

Its like hanging out with a person who just wants to hear how great they are and doesn't want to hear anything you have to say. Kinda barfy gross. and it sorta make the survey pointless.

Yep. And when confronted with people not liking the issue they come out with things like "Community loves them" or "Our numbers says you are wrong".

...yeah it definitely ended as I found the email opened it up and clicked the "Start Survey" button only to receive a message it had ended.

I got the email, no mention of any survey... is it the AAPI/NFT email?... Don't care so much for the $10, but I'm itching for a survey.

You too?  Oh boy oh boy oh boy, I love filling out those things!  I'd pay them to let me provide input every day!  And I always bring a copy to the DMV and my voting place for sharing.  The look of amazement and genuinely tepid appreciation on their faces is priceless!

Well, only if offered with chocolate covered cherries.

C- I wish I could love it bareback wearing a chinchilla costume.

Wait, tell me again how I'm going to fit into a chinchilla's costume?

D- Without it life is meaningless.

Wait, did I really say that?

    E- All of the above.

Okay, now I'm certain I didn't say all of those things!

Dude, you're absolutely great.  I mean awesomer than great.  Okay I'll stop now so your wife and kids can have a chance to compliment you.

Yeah, I'll just wait right here...

Kinda barfy gross. and it sorta make the survey pointless.

Surveys are not pointless.  The people at the soup kitchen downtown post them on their "best customer" wall.  And then somebody takes them because the next time I go there, it's gone!

But at least this survey asked a few questions about DS (at least that's what I took it to mean) that could have been useful.

Ouch, I missed that part.  It would have been a prime opportunity to kvetch some more about Hexagon and Bryce being ignored, or the teeny-tiny print in Cararra.  Or is it Carrara?  Where does that extra "r" go, really?  Well, maybe I should put those into my signature again, huh?  Surely somebody will see my signature and decide that we have to fix everything, and damn the torpedos!

  • McGyverMcGyver Posts: 7,066

Yeah, I did mention Bryce and Hexagon when they asked what other 3D software do you use... like why wasn't Carrara, Hexagon or Bryce mentioned?

They are still DAZ products right?

But this is what happens when you have SurveyMonkeys do your survey... I'd go up the evolutionary ladder a rung and at least hire SurveyApes... Sure they eat more and you can fit few of them in a cubicle, but there are slightly less errors and marginally less poop flinging.

I've not had a survey before, but I did have this one. After I did the survey I got the NFT e-mail so I unsubscribed from newsletters. Will I still get my $10?

If you supplied your Daz email on the survey, you should receive the credit.

Yes, but AFAIK, no development is going on for them.

Yeah, but they still sell them... you'd think they'd be interested in whether people still use them or not... unless they have absolutely no interest in that data because they don't intend to ever develop for them again... which is equally possible... okay... highly possibly.

Honestly, I could see that for Bryce and Hexagon, especially since Blender has gotten easier to use (okay, it's not completely easy, but no longer as mentally overwhelming as it used to be), and Bryce is probably too old to update anymore without rewriting it completely (Probably not, but think that was said once)...
I was gonna say, "but not Carrara", but I guess Carrara is probably viewed as redundant or competing with DS to some extent, so I could see where that would yeet it into the same bin as the other two...

Especially sad for me because I had a stupid dream a few days back where I was waiting on an appointment outside with terrible cell reception trying to visit DAZ using my phone and I came across a thread with a title like "Thank you for Bryce 9" and was only able to get tiny bit of info from the thread before the forum cloud flared, so I went right to the store and apparently not only was there a Bryce 9, there was a Hexagon 4 and Carrara 10... I was like "Whothe whatnow!!??!!"
I don't know what happened to the in between numbers, but yeah... it was so frustrating because the store kept crashing as I was reading all the super fantastic new features and on top of that they were doing a promotion where for the next hour you could get a free copy and I couldn't get a good connection... and then I woke up and was in the most annoyed mood. I was actually pissed off at my phone for what happened in a dream...

Yup... these are the stupid things that haunt my stupid dreams.

Flashback (or is it flashfuture) from one of your timetravelling trips? That would explain the connection problems with to be outdated communication device.

Phase resonance overlap with semi-parallel timelines... I hadn't thought of that... if you don't isolate the interference from the quantum axion transmotivator, you can have temporal interphase intrusion... normally you don't notice it, but I guess when one is asleep the unconscious mind is more sensitive to the alternate timelines phasing through ours...

So somewhere out there a different bunch us are getting new Bryces, Hexagons and Carraras... figures... stupid lousy Covidie timeline we get stuck with.

I have just realised that I don't get any emails from DAZ - I only get the DAZ Deals emails from Ati. I've looked at my account page here at DAZ and can't see anywhere that has options for opting in or out of mailing lists. I'm sure I used to get emails from DAZ (and I do get confirmation of orders from them) but my email history is not showing any recently.

I realized I missed this survey because of how Gmail handle email from daz. It lists all email from daz except transaction receipts in the promotion tab, which I hardly check. It's a shame I'd love to have $10 credit :D

I think the credit just shows up in your store credit account; at least it did for me. Thanks, DAZ

I would be pleasantly surprised if Daz ever manages any of those feats.
