Select the hair and under "currently used" dial the PHMKiko8_1Ears to zero

Haha, why does the character description matter in the slightest? I personally like the description DAZ gave her, but it's not like it limits what we can do with them. Jada's description says she's a roller skating 70's undercover cop. I'm using her texture on my 16th century earth spirit who fights demon women. Still works. ;)
I really like that the foxy ears are a morph (Kiko 8.1 Ears are under Head->Ears->Stylized, so you can give a partial Kiko dial as well).
It's a really cool idea, and actually very helpful with Hair that does not cover the ears because then the morphs are actually kind of cool. Throw on the ear hairs over this? It's brilliant and much appreciated.

And, yeah, Jada's description was/is dumb. Holy cow, what a relic of a prior era, and not in a good way, IMO.
Complaint: Makeups do not come with no-brow option, so every overlay has the eyebrow painted on. (EDIT) I can fix this by hand, but kind of dumb that I have to do this.
EDIT2: Okay, Kiko's Makeup Weight map is MUCH less aggressive than prior 8.1 makeup weight maps, which tend to paint the entire facial region as "White" (pass-through from the Makeup channel). Kiko's weight map for makeup is much more limited, so hopefully that means the brows won't actually show up in an Iray render even if they show up in a Filament viewport.
Plastic skin... the SSS map looks like a lighter/more white version of the Diffuse map? (Like, literally the Diffuse map with the brightness turned up.) So, maybe not a lot of tonal variance coming through the Translucency channel.
I'm going to re-do the SSS maps for myself and see if that gives more drama.

did the banner say something about owning anything in particular? I have the stuff in my cart because I figured the banner was just late but still nothing, and I kinda own a lot of stuff, including almost every 8.1 character
Not feeling this one at all, she reminds me of Cleopatra who I also didn´t care for. But I´m happy for those who like her!
I feel like Kiko is good, but she's not a great entry-level figure. You kind of need to know your way around Daz to make her sing as compared to a Jada 8.1 or Victoria, IMO. Some assembly required, I think.
Like the skin? The plastic feel, I get that. Maybe it's because she's Stylized? I think the SSS maps are kind of weak, IMO. They don't add much depth the way they're done, but it could be intended due to the style.
Also, the foxy bits. They are well done but heavy, and my machine kind of gags on them all. It's probably the SBH settings, but I didn't have time to sift through and mess with them. (It takes knowledge of Daz to mess with all of that... let alone diagnose what's causing things to drag or hang.)

Anyway, I was actually thinking recently that an "Aiko 8.1" was due. I like this character from what I can see on the promos but I just hope this is not an Aiko substitute.
Maybe worth putting in a ticket then? It's a pretty decent deal if you have it all (I got plenty of "free" stuff on the side that I have been wanting, so that's a good deal to me). I do really like the Maho outfit, and they did nice work with the textures... so with the banner? It was doubleplusgood.
(I don't know how they evaluate the orange banners, or what they do to adjudicate those... but I do like to share my pricing info because I think we ought to share this info with each other.)
She's definitely not in the same facial structure of an Aiko. She feels more stylized than that, very interesting cheekbones (perhaps because of the kitsune thing and the facial structure of foxes).
Yeah, I own most of the pro bundles too and didn't get a banner, but it looks like the big percentage off is if you wanted the bundle and I just want Kiko, the Maho outfit/textures, and the hair. The other items all look great, but I don't think I will have any use for them but I probably would have still gotten the bundle for the two outfits just in case down the line if I had the banner. I'm going to head out for a bit and if I come back and see a banner, I'll snag the bundle otherwies I'll just get what's in my cart now.
With the skin looking kind of plastic/stylized, I totally get the complaint on that for folks wanting a more photo realistic approach, but a lot of my personal projects are with toon characters, so this skin is perfect for what I do and am always looking for some variations so not everyone has the same materials in a scene.
I am so happy to see that the HD is included, I really hope this becomes the norm for DO characters.

To me she does fit the style, especially when you take into consideration the "evolution" of Aiko, or at least since Aiko 5, I'm not very familiar with the Gen 4 stuff. To me it feels like Kiko is part Aiko7/8 while her head got some of Aiko 6 back. Which I like since I wish future Aikos get back more of Aiko 6 which is a more "full sized anime" figure, while the recent Aikos got the petite/cute treatment. I don't mind Kiko still keeping that style due to her main trait of being a kitsune
Anyway... I doubt a ticket would work at this point, with the speed they answer those *sigh*, but yeah, thanks for the info!
PD: About the skin, I think it's fine, she is supposed to be a stylized character, I don't think that pairs very well with realistic skin.
Well, I was all set to buy this then realized I already have https://www.daz3d.com/acicia-bundle-for-genesis-8-females which is basically the same thing, and I’ve never even used it. I also have a bunch of singing/K-Pop poses I’ve never used. Not sure if the five freebies are worth it because they are old products I’ve already picked through and there’s nothing in the $1.99 items I want.... My coupon is for the entire cart though so it brings down the price on some other things. Ugh. On the fence again...
It's really not the same thing though, but if that character and those ears work for your "kitsune needs", sure, you don't need Kiko 8.1 (but it's not the same as saying it's the same thing)
I own that one too and I haven't used it precisely because the character is not what I'd use and the ears are pretty fake.
I grabbed the bundle. Unfortunately, I don't have time to play around with rendering today, but I did a quick, out of the box test. I too like toon characters, including with non realistic skin so that it is easy for post working to make it look even more comic/toon-y.
Here is a quick render of her face, and then with a toon filter. Out of the box, no lighting or anything.
An instant buy for me. Need fox-spirit characters, and she looks great. This will compliment the Acicia package with more "DNA". There are some other characters coming too. The link to Tia does not work yet.
From her description, she is more of a Nogitsune (Wild Fox) than a Kitsune, or perhaps she is a Huli Jing (China). The Kitsune are generally alligned with the Rice God Inari, and so tend to be Lawful to Neutral. The Nogitsune lean more toward the Chaotic. Not that this actually matters, as we will make her into whatever we want.
Fred Gallagher's MEGATOKYO webcomic has some great Kitsune characters.
In case it hasn't been answered, the ears morph for her is separate, and you can turn it off on the hair. Just select the hair, then in Parameters make sure Show Hidden is on, then look for the Ears morph and set it to 0.
Alright, so after sleeping on her I'm on the fence a bit about the bundle. I'm probably just going to get the sailor outfit, hair, and Kiko herself, don't really need the poses, and I have a few outfits that are close enough to the Poison Love one that I don't really need it.
Might give it a bit more thought, but I can save a bit of my Daz money opting that way. The free stuff I could get I've picked over too many times and don't need any of that, so while I could get a few things, nothing is anything I'd likely use much. Those monster skulls have been tempting me for years though...
Can anyone tell me which hair this is? I really like the way it looks on her, especially this rainbow texture.
After a crap weekend dealing with a sick cat, Daz release a character that I actually want. Onto the wishlist she goes.

Ah, OK. I thought it was a Photoshop filter. What you did looks cool but I wasn’t impressed with the app itself. And it’s the same price as Photoshop!

If you add a curve or some other method to make it lighter, it is probably almost exactly like the befunky version.
