Catty 8.1 Gender Fluid Bundle

A new bundle to start our week. I like the cadet outfit.
I think I will pass on the bundle as a whole.
I had a thought about Monty Pythons Ministry of Silly Walks when I saw one of the poses

Looks like that Gender Fluid Bundles does sell well.
This is one of a few most realistic looking characters.
Good job on this one.
yeah the model itself looks good, but the skin looks terrible for me.
Interesting model. It's actually based off a real person Cattytay Taylor. First model I think since Reby Sky over 10 years ago as an actual person modeled and publicy announce. Very cool.
I actually think, the skin looks pretty realistic too, but just too dark, as pretty much all PBR skin shaders are.
Catty 8.1 reminds me of Svetlana Sorokina on Babylon Berlin (German Period Drama) played by Severija Janusauskaite

Insta-buy. Now if only the free stuff would trigger so I can *actually* buy...
I was able to get all the categories but one to work for me, but decided to check out as-is before they realized that G8 Pro Bundles weren't supposed to be free.
Smart! They realized that before I got on today ;-)
Insta Bye
and the boots still have heels
OK chunky platform but I still couldn't walk or run in those
for my taste much too bumpy:
The transgender genre doesn't interest me much, but Catty 8.1 is really cute. I like her/his 'normal' yet sensitive looking face. After the first characters didn't appeal to me at all, 8.1 is slowly getting more interesting.
Should be "hers/theirs". Please respect their pronouns.
At first glance, I probably wouldn't invest in this bundle, but the overall deals and discounts are pretty good (I just hope the fix the Select Peoples & Wearables category by removing the pro-bundles from it soon). There are some interesting things, but if it wasn't for the total discounts, I probably would've bought one or two useful pieces and wishlisted a couple of interesting parts instead.
- The mustache looks about right for making a Freddy Mercury lookalike, for those interested in that. I just think having a small collection of beards and mustaches never hurts for adding some variety to my renders. Definitely something to buy.
- The seating poses look a bit different from the usual seating poses, so could be useful. Might buy / might wishlist thing.
- The Fashion Cadet has some parts I'm interested in, but I'm not a fan of the outfit as a whole. Would probably have wishlisted this for the beret, the skirt and the boots, to combine with pieces from other outfits.
- Punky Tail hair reminds me a little of Riviera Hair by Outoftouch, which still resides in my wishlist. Come to think of it, the two could probably work well together as before and after barber shots. I could use it, but would be debating myself whether to buy now or add to wishlist.
After discounts, the bundle ends up at $19.12, total cart ends up at $54,08, which should be $41.76 actually, due to the issue with pro-bundles in Select Peoples & Wearables.
same here, no interest or use for this type of content. I do like the boots in the cadet outfit though.
Very cool character! There are so many G8 core characters already but this one somehow manages to add something fresh and new.
I just couldn't get into August 8.1, although I appreciated the thought (and I usually like Thorne and Morris' work.) Catty is a much stronger execution of a similar idea, I love it!
Now, if only I could figure out what IoDF is. I went to their website and it's all word salad. I actually work in fashion but I have no idea what they do.
Well according to the blurb on this page it's "a digital strategy and innovation institute that is a driving force in digital diversity and inclusion in the fashion industry. IoDF works across stakeholders and social strata to build a new democratic and inclusive future in the digital arena by delivering immersive world class digital solutions, strategy, and innovation". Makes it much more clear right? ;)
Edit: looking more closely at their site, it looks like they provide digital versions of clothes, avatars and environments and create animations, games, VR and augmented reality stuff with those.
Gonna pass on this one.
I'm still experimenting with the PBR shader... I do dial back the Detail Weight when it gets to be too much. That's what it looks like with Catty (you can see how it fades out in the nose), so the figure probably needs less of the Detail channel.
I liked August, but I prefer not to have too many figures based on real people. I like my fake dolls (err, action figures) just fine, but real people are a bit creepy for me... although that's my opinion, of course.
So, it is in line with the rest of the Tafi nonsense, offering low-quality stuff, colored in the lacquer of social goodness, to promote VR stuff (like avatars and low-quality animations) nobody needs nor wants.
LOL, yeah... back in art school, whenever someone started talking like this we all knew, that´s someone who´s presenting a pile of nothing and needs too fancy-talk it into a passing grade.
Anyway, back to work... "work across stakeholders and social strata", that is
Personally speaking, I'd rather not use anything based on a real person. I've only made an exception for a figure very closely based on Audrey Hepburn and only for the sake of doing a few renders stylised to look like B&W movie shots.
"WomXn"? Has DAZ learrnt nothing from the Twitch experience?

Seems like an attempt to promote inclusion only resulted in feelings of exclusion and causing offence within the very demographic it had been aimed at. Surprised DS went ahead with it in the product description without doing some basic research.
Catty is a very interesting and attractive character, with lots of personality. I like characters that look real rather than idealised. I think it was brave of the real Cat to expose themself to risk of marketplace critical comment in this way. I respect that. However we each have our own preferences and taboos: and the market place is a cruel judge. Is there a version of this character, within the package, with plain skin - ie no tattoos? If tattoos are the only option then, reluctantly, I will have to pass and leave this one for others to use in their stories.
Agreed.
I think it’s insane for someone to agree to have their realistic likeness made in 3D considering what so many customers actually use it for..
