.... Surprised DS went ahead with it in the product description without doing some basic research.

I'm not surprised. They did the same thing with NFTs

I like her sculpt a lot. It makes sense that she is based on a real person, with a face that interesting and realistic. Her skin seems to have some good qualities, but also suffers from that hard surface appearance that some pbr skins have. It is also too bumpy, but many G8s have that issue.

i love the morph.  more PAs need to make realistic morphs.

the textures could be improved a lot...

I do like her sculpt- the skin looks like they just used the same pore brush over her entire face. Not good.

Has anyone tried the sculpt with another skin yet?

I was wondering about their face and the pores. It does sort of look like Summerhorse described. I think I will buy them, and possibly the hair. But not keen on the rest.

  • Just dial down the Detail Weight for the facial "pores", and/or dial down the Detail Normal.

It's probably the detail channel because the 8.1 Detail weight maps usually go to black (0) around the nose and lips.

The one outfit I didn't buy the textures for, had that little skirt which inspired this render. So many times I have seen little girls in Target in jeans and sneakers or boots, but with a tutu on over it, and some shirt and looking like they are dancing to music in their head. So using Growing Up, I aged her down to about nine. Catty makes a cute child. I grabbed a hodge podge of different clothes from my runtime to create a little one's outfit. I tried out the HDRI in the bundle too.

Just one warning, the skin loads with the tattoos loaded. There is a tattoo off option. I didn't adjust the skin or anything at this point.

I like the tutu that is seriously adorable on the girl.

Instant buy but I really dislike that jacket on the cadet outfit.  Great character.

    Hi!

Does anyone know if the G8.1 male and female anatomical elements in this bundle are the same as the previous G8 equivalents from earlier "Pro" bundles.

DAZ make it impossible ( I think) to find these thing out. Thankyou.

I'm always looking for realistic faces on my characters but I'm reading that the reason why the face looks so real is because it's based off a real person which sounds awesome and something I wish was done more. I did a google search for Cat Talyor and found nothing but links for a meterologist and a fiddle players so that's definitely not it. Can someone explain to me who this is? Are they going from being a woman to a man or man to a woman? My google skills are failing me.

    I think they are considered gender fluid (which I don't think is the same thing as trans- if I'm wrong please correct me) and they use the pronouns She/they. They work in the digital fashion industry. Here's a page about them and the character: https://www.daz3d.com/daz-3d-and-iodf ;

@jd641, I had a second email from Daz today with a link that gave more information about the source character. As you scroll down, you can see pictures of the original person, Cattytay Taylor.

Thanks for the links! Very interesting.

I looked at the HD and the body shape is also really well done and realistic. They did a fanastic job bringing them into the 3d world, I'm absolutely going to get the model.

If you search for cattytay on insta  ( not sure if link allowed  it will show more  about her/they )   explains some of the make up choices for the character   hope that helps

I'm curious in case future characters are also based on actual people: Since this is an official likeness of a real person (rather than a character that happens to look like a celebrity but is not an endorsed product), buyers are fully licensed to use that likeness for renders in commercial endeavors, right? Meaning the model has no grounds to sue for any royalties, and that buyers need not seek any permissions or approval for use in their projects?

I notice that there doesn't seem to be an interactive license add-on, but I'm not seeing anything indicating that the license offered with the product itself (for renders) differs from the standard Daz license.

Genderfluid means that you  dont identify as either being male or female  but a mixture of both - one day you may present as a man another as a woman  or a mixture of both .  Trans usually means that you are transitioning or transitioned  to the opposite sex from which you were deemed at birth   I know this is probably a simplistic view  but makes it easier to understand ;)   as for sexuality thats a completely different ballgame lol

I would be interested to see how the character renders dialed in at 50%, but at 100%, no thanks.

Okay, I just looked Catty Tay up and she looks just like her digital likeness. Even the image with the moustache. Great work!

Got the second bundle and the moustache from the first one. Like all the parts of the second bundle from the first one not so much. So the best deal for me.

If anoyne gets a chance to post a picture of the Modern Realness Outfit (ugh, that sounds so bad) on a different character I'd appreciate it. Seems like a pretty high quality item, but I don't like the way it fits the character, and I can't figure out if it's the morph or the outfit.

Not sure why I find it interesting they used the G8 Female base rather than creating a G? Model.

I agree! Love the body and face sculpt. So glad Daz is making more realistic morphs! Hope more PA's will follow.

Not sure why I find it interesting they used the G8 Female base rather than creating a G? Model.

Starting from one of the existing base figures means you can use all the morphs, textures and add-ons available for that figure.

Interesting model. It's actually based off a real person Cattytay Taylor.  First model I think since Reby Sky over 10 years ago as an actual person modeled and publicy announce. Very cool.

I think it’s insane for someone to agree to have their realistic likeness made in 3D considering what so many customers actually use it for..

    Agreed
Definitely takes a very brave soul. But then, being an openly genderfluid public person does mean they're pretty much ready for everything the rest of the world might say or do.

I am a lifestyle metalhead with goth leanings, so I don't understand contemporary fashion or the LGBT+ culture aesthetics (even though I'm not straight myself), but it's quite interesting to see various kinds of people and ideas represented in the DAZ/Poserverse.

    @SereneNight

It has taken three crashes of my computer, but I finally squeeked out a render of Lukas for G8.1M in 2020's Modern Realness Outfit. It fit with the autofit program just fine. The shoes are individual items, so I had to go through it twice, even for the thumbnail that showed two shoes together. The sunglasses were a bit iffy at first, but there were plenty of sliders to shift it around and expand it to fit a larger head. (I wish more glasses came with these poses sliders with them.) Your new computer should not have an issue with the outfit. This scene went up to 2.63gb which my desktop with a 64gb 1080Ti had fits with. But maybe my scene/light choices impacted it too?

Standing the pants look fine, but it is sitting and crouching that causes some issues, but I didn't see any. The thick soles of the shoes have to be compensated for in the pose you choose though. The pose I used is one of Catty's.
