Not really sure where I was going with this scene or what my plans for it were, or what more if anything I want to add to it. There's my complaint.
...an oldie, Incredible Journey.
Which version, the original (1963), or the remake (1993)?
I always thought dark photons were regular photons with flipped normals...
Actually I was looking for "Homeward Bound"... but now I just noticed the name on the video case spine is actually "Homeward Bound" in big lettering and in smaller print (you can barely read) "The Incredible Journey"... I guess I never realized that was the name because my kids used to call it Homeward Bound and not Incredible Journey, which was the name of the original movie it was a reboot of... I'm aware the newer movie was a reboot because when I was a kid I saw the original, but I didn't realize they kept part of the title the same in the 1993 version...the DVD case for the sequel doesn't ever give the full name on the spine, just "Homeward Bound II"... I blame my kids for owning the videos and them sitting on the entertainment center for years where all I can see is the "Homeward Bound" part of the title... oddly enough both are sitting next to the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies on the shelf...
Yeah... I messed up... The 1993 movie's full name is actually "Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey"
My official apologies to Carrie58 who was the first to guess Incredible Journey and apologies to anyone else who guessed Incredible Journey too.
This correction is all thanks to TJohn asking "which incredible journey movie, the old one or the 1993 one"... which made me go over and look at the video case and feel Incredibly Dumb.
Oh well... that's not the worst thing I did today.
...the original.
If you set the cm^2 Factor to 10, it gets lighter
Coming along~
DAZ Studio default lights, rendered by 3Delight, used to be able to emit anti-photons (i.e. "negative" light) to remove light from an unwanted area. I don't know if it still can, but I've used it a couple of times in the past. Although, not in IRay. IRay tries to model reality, and reality plays by her own rules which doesn't seem to include anti-photons(i.e. because they are massless & chargeless. Nothing left to "anti" against. Although, I suppose the electric & magnetic fields might be able to be left-handed instead of right-handed but wouldn't that just be a photon moving backward in time?).
Based on a book, based on A True Story™. The pets are all different breeds and have different names between the original film and the remake. No idea why.
Two complaints;
One, for a long time I just used the Cinema 4D Bridge for exporting props and critters, and while it wasn't perfect it worked okay enough. Then when I finally get around to exporting people or characters with equipment and outfits that's when everything just collapses into a mess. Few if any of the clothing exports with weighting and doesn't even fit the character it was made for, in addition to the "usual problems" that come with using DAZ's bridge. Sometimes I wonder if they shouldn't just stop advertizing it as a tool on the store pages, given it doesn't really function as its supposed to (and for some, it doesn't function at all which is a shame)
Two, getting volumetric lights with Octane. Every tutorial I look at it seems so simple and easy and yet it never works for me. I mostly just resort to using the Spotlight instead even if I feel its not really ideal.
Frustrations with the Bridge aside, I think this scene is about done. The human figures aren't in super close sight nor are they animated so it's workable. Just gotta make some last little adjustments to the image and it's good I think
Because Hollywood.
I figured Rezca probably has heard of this, but if not... Tomorrow is National Appreciate A Dragon Day... I don't know what's entailed in that or what decorations one puts up, but it's interesting to note.
Its also Fig Newton day... I'm assuming you decorate the house with Fig Newtons for that one.
Every day is Dragon Appreciation Day! It's just this one day is a formal celebration :)
I thought I saw a message post saying that the website is starting to display the new version of the store to some uses.
And image submitted! :)
Nice work!

I am tired all of a sudden. I don't know why I am so tired.
...I read the book as well.
...I get a "broken image" icon.
..crikey I couldn't even get on the forums today without incurring a gateway error. Clicked on "The Commons" link icon I have on the Google Home page only to get the error 502 error message.
They need to improve this end of the site as well.
Recycled from yesterday... and I will continue to recycle my server hamster jokes.
It's past midnight, so that's normal. I on the other hand don't feel tired at all and that's not good.
Huh, looks like the image got deleted. I thought I was removing it from the thing where your current/previous post gets kinda 'stuck' as the in-progress message at the bottom, but guess maybe either that didnt work out or I slipped and zapped the actual one xD
Either way, it's there in the Gallery at least :>
Thanks!
I took a shower to get ready for bed, but that backfired. I am not as tired as I was earlier. My clock says 19:04.
Your clock is running late, mine says 02:10
Your clock is running 118 years slow.
Shhhhh! Every time they "improve" things, all heck breaks loose!

...ugh, travel complaint.
Considering a trip to Washington DC this summer for an important event I'd like to attend and even purchasing a ticket five months in advance, airfares have become ridiculous evme in the back of hte plane.
One point to make before going on, being tall and having two forms of debilitating arthritis along with circulatory issues, I no longer am able to travel in what I refer to as airline "steerage" class (standard economy) due to the fact you pretty much need to be a gymnast or contortionist to wedge yourself into that tight amount of space between the rows. Most of the low cost airlines (and they really aren't given all the excess fees they charge) usually have a 28" seat pitch (the measured distance from seat back to seat back) which pretty much puts the person sitting head of you in your lap even before they recline. The major airlines are not much better offering maybe an extra 2" - 3" (depending on the aircraft type). Given just my circulatory issue alone, being pinned in one position in a tight spot inableto move my legs for several hours it's not just uncomfortable, but has serious health implications as well.
The only two airlines with an actual "premium" service section (which is what standard coach used to be like in the old days) are Delta and Alaska. For both however the markup form the rear cabin is pretty steep and you still have to pay luggage fees on top of that. So for the best trip I could find (neither a "redeye" [overnight] or arriving in DC around midnight (meaning another 80$ - 100$ for a taxi) the fare with 1 bag is 936$, and that's just one step up from "steerage" (just a few years ago I flew round trip First class to Milwaukee for about 150$ less than that). I didn't bother with Alaska (even though they had a non stop) because you can't just pre book a seat in premium online, you have to commit to purchasing the ticket first and after that check to see if there is a better seat available. If not, you're stuck in the steerage cabin. Same for United and American.
There are times I still miss the good old days before deregulation, the fares from back then actually come out to about the same adjusted for inflation but quality of service was far and away superior to what we endure today in the air (as well fellow passengers were much more well behaved).
So next looked at the train and found the best trip to cost around 462$. Not bad as it is about half the premium fare above as well as even being about 100$ less than Southwest Airlines (with their "cattle call" boarding procedure). However, that is only for a coach seat which means having to try and sleep while in a seated position with a total stranger next to me. Not very comforting on both counts, Sleeper car? getting a compartment causes the fare to jump to 3,100$. Crikey that's more than twice as much as even the first class airfares I was looking at.
So unless I get a small windfall between now and then it's likely a no go.
