Cory 6

Well, the cat is out of the bag. And his name is Cory 6.
What's Included and Features
Skunkville Noir
33 Skunkville Noir Shaders (.DUF)
Bonus Combined Pose for Callie 6 and Cory 6 (.DUF)
http://www.daz3d.com/skunkville-noir
Coupled poses are some huge hint, so I guess we can assume that he is her counterpart. And this even might be him in that kissing promo image.

He definitely sounds like a cartoony male or a young teen but please no, we dont need no more young teens! : ) so I´m kinda surprised he did not arrive with Callie.
I hope he brings some hairstyles that go with g2 males and are useable outside Anime szenes as well :)
Just noticed in the past days that I still have to few hairstyles for the guys... even with the useage of oder products... there are just to many similar styles and to few different ones...
allthough I had a real nice surprise when I put casual long hair on my morphed M6 and found that along with unshaven beard for genesis the guy kinda looked like Conchita Wurst :D only kinda though... but still, put a smile on my face *g*
anyhooo... you can see Cory in the last Promo Image of Skunk Noir, I think
From what I remember of the past years only the teens, and recently Monique and Darius, have ever been released as pairs.
Releasing pairs of characters has been requested a lot in the forums and might seem like a good idea on paper, but there's a basic problem to consider: most people only have so much to spend at a given time.
Providing both genders at the same time might help convince some people to invest, but on the other hand a good number of people will not be able to support 2 figures at the same time, and end up buying less products than they would have if they had been released separately.
So releasing one figure one month and then its counterpart a bit later, with maybe special sale on the first one, is probably a better alternative money-wise for DAZ and for customers.

Or extending intro-sales to cover more paycheck dates -- that would help the money issue while serving the needs of artists who have little use for unpaired figures.
Monique and Darius, a pair of black figures with realistic palms and soles, released together? They broke a six-month 3D content-buying drought for me, convincing me to re-join the PlatClub and pulling me deep into a MMadness I'd decided to skip. I was hoping they marked a solid change from DAZ's male-gaze-privilege release scheduling.
Adding an extra two weeks could help people who get paid every other week, and some of those who get paid twice a month -- that's a lot of us, maybe most of us. And DAZ's intro sales are the length they are because that's the length they've pretty much always been. If a longer intro sale makes them more money, what valid business reason is there to object?
You said it yourself: "Releasing pairs of characters has been requested a lot in the forums . . . but . . . most people only have so much to spend at a given time." This is something that many customers clearly want, that the recent sales data on the Monique/Darius release shows is viable, and which can be accomplished with a simple scheduling fix. Whereas splitting the release of paired figures means that many won't buy until both of the pair are available (if then), at which point the first is at full price and doesn't get bought until it's on sale again -- since that's usually a better sale than the intro, DAZ looses money, the PAs loose money, and pair-needing artists have to wait for a usably complete set. Lose-lose all round.
hoping Cory bundle haz a lil more than Brodie's had :)
I'm really hoping this is not a replacement for the Hiro line.
I'm whining; I know :-(
I beg to differ -- anime styles are distinctly different from other toon styles, one isn't representation for the other. Speaking up about which you want isn't whining.
I'm not convinced it isn't. Most objections to it I've see are variations on "but that's the way we've always done it!", and the rest rely on data that's oh-so-conveniently unavailable to the general customer base (even when it isn't contradicted by marketing posts).
But I'm a customer again, thanks to the paired release of Monique & Darius. As such, I'm gonna speak up when I'm buying less here because my 3D art supply needs aren't being met. If enough of us feel the same, that's a money-making opportunity for DAZ and the PAs. If not, how's anybody gonna know if we don't speak up?
Except for the fact that the boards are almost never any real indication of what the customer base wants/is will pay for. If two thousand people posted that they wanted x sort of figure then yes that would be a good indication of potential sales of a thousand or so. The reality is that there have never been 2 thousand people posting requesting any single thing at the same time and it is really unlikely that they ever would. Most customers never even read the boards and it is almost never a reflection of sales potential or actual product sales.
More like a long-overdue demand finally being supplied for Girl 6, which just so happens to coincide with this new figure. :)
Except for the fact that the boards are almost never any real indication of what the customer base wants/is will pay for. . .
So we've heard tell, and that's discouraging, as I'm sure was intended. If discouraged-from-posting has little correlation with discouraged-from-buying? No problem for DAZ, then.
It was just a fact not an "intent". I doubt it would discourage anyone from posting requests but it does not hurt to have them understand facts so that they are not hurt or feel "ignored" when they don't get what they ask for. Part of the human condition is the idea that everyone else wants what we want. When I was in college I remember being frantic to get in a class that I was sure would be full before I got a spot then finding out that the class was not even half full. When I ran a college bookstore kids would be in a panic to get a book for some obscure class because they were sure that every other student wanted that same text.
Kinda sucks if we want an extra discount on Cory have to by Callie, I really dont see myself using her for anything. I'm not even thrilled at the idea of Cory being a toon, but maybe he will have some decent hair/clothes.
I get a distinct impression that DAZ doesn't have any clear idea for what kind of "guy stuff" the market actually wants. We're kind of at saturation point with general casual sportswear -- which doesn't mean that a brand new set of more of the same may not sell. But it's like they are grasping at straws to try to drag out a theme, any theme on each new release.
Lee; he's Asian so give him Kung Fu stuff. Darius is African so pile on the Voudoun themes and maybe basketball. Gianni got fantasy warrior stuff, iirc. I think Brody got very little, but I think it was more casual sportswear or school stuff.
It's almost like they aren't bringing out male character bases because they don't know what theme to ship them with.
I mean, hey, I'd buy historical costuming from just about any defined period, but I'm probably not the general run of the market. I seriously doubt that anything tied to a *real* period is a viable "theme" for a base product launch.
If Cory is an adult not teen product I will probably buy him for the content. I do admit I'm curious if the male figure will have pinup guy content like the female version. Will there be sexy poses? Tool guy outfit? Chippendales outfits?
Well, from the promo he snuck into, military uniforms.
Awesome! Finally, an official Toon male (non-Hiro, anyway)! So, according to Callie's bundles and that comic screen featuring Cory, it looks like the main theme with those two will be classic WWII propaganda. Interesting...
Well, since I used a free G2F sailor suit... ;)
Nah, looked like a generic cartoon sailor's costume.
I'm actually quite tempted to get that 'Captain Cupcake' set, because I remembered I used Girl 6 with the Succubus accessories to create a tribute to Bettie Page-style aircraft 'nose art' (just shortly before a dress came out which would have made it look much more authentic, alas) and it looks like this costume would be perfect for similar military-themed cartoon art. Especially with that navy option.

EDIT: Hah! I was right!
Ugh, another toon girl? At least this time we're getting a toon male-- AT LAST.
Now if Daz would just hurry up with Hiro 6 already...
So we've heard tell, and that's discouraging, as I'm sure was intended. If discouraged-from-posting has little correlation with discouraged-from-buying? No problem for DAZ, then.
I doubt it's true in EVERY case. For example, the muscularity morphs, which many of us here at the forum were begging for. Also, my request for the medieval cloaks for G2M-- I can guarantee you that those would sell (for a male clothing item, that is) The Morphing Fantasy Robe for G2M that I also requested-- not so sure. I can imagine that for a G2M outfit, it would sell quite well, and that any male MFD textures released would also be bought/used by customers on the MFD. Morphing Fantasy Robe expansion(s) probably wouldn't sell so well unless they included some new items not found in the MFD, but you never know (obviously a few of the MFD expansion pieces, such as the bustle and corset, wouldn't be included. I could possibly picture Ravenhair including pieces such as a jabot, a cravat, and maybe a jerkin or turnover collar)
Meh, I really hope Ravenhair reads the product suggestions forum.
We could definitely make use of a full length robe for G2M. Prefereably something that could pass for historic or middle eastern (an update on Moroccan Dreams would certainly do in a pinch).
or a tux
