...I find it to be an excellent addition to Daz. Yeah, some things don't work with it as they are specifically tailored to 3DL (like I just discovered testing AoA's Grass Shader). However, I do find using physically natural light is simpler than dealing with the shader mixer and scripting to get a more "photo real" quality. I also like the fact it renders faster for me than Reality/Lux or 3DL with UE.

Where it really seems to "shine" more is when using HDRI environments, Sadly there is only a limited number of free HDRI's available and any sun is "fixed" with regards to elevation in the sky. What we need is an' Azure Skies like add on for Iray which had different sun angles for each HDRI sphere.

I have not abandoned 3DL as it does offer more "user control" with regards to lighting, effects, and style. Just trying to learn all I can about Iray as it expands the possibilities for more project assignments by allowing me to offer more high end professional looking illustrations..

As to creating a light, have you used the emissive shader?

Might have something to do with the price.

Also might have something to do with the hardware or its firmware. Make sure you have the latest firmware installed. What brand player is it? Which model?

If all else fails buy some proper BluRay software, you'll need in the long run anyway. And if that fails you're going to have to consider replacing some hardware, either your BluRay player or your computer! :bug:

Now, if you find an iray player that plays bluray movies that would be something!

Hmmm, I'm of that era and I even know the house in Melbourne Florida where Jim Morrison lived for a while, but I was actually referring to the 1961 SciFi novel by Robert Heinlein.

(*WARNING: SPOILERS GALORE AT THIS LINK*) (but one could read the article and bring it up at a cocktail party and sound well read and sophisticated)

Ooh! Someone who dares to write.

I've threatened to write many times in my life. I have lots of stories. But for many of them I'm going to have to outlive the sources of my material. Because if I don't, I won't.

There has been progress. Yea! about 10:00 last night I went up to lay down in bed and felt really hot and was sweating like a wrestler, but other than that I was feeling better. I immediately fell asleep for an hour and woke up on sweaty sheets despite the room temperature being 65 and being on top of the sheets and the big fan blowing directly on me. It was the first hour of honest to goodness sleep I'd had in three days. I slept and sweat several more times in about two hour cycles until 6:30 this morning.

My temperature is 98.6 now. Still a little high for me but I feel good except that I have absolutely no energy. I'm hoping that will return in the next few days.

Good. Now rest up some more, drink a lot (no, not booze :) ), and fully recover!

Do you have a Blur Ray player? I mean the disc machine. Regular DVD players will not play BR, no matter how good the software is.

LOS ANGELES – Grace Lee Whitney, who played Captain Kirk's assistant on the original "Star Trek" series, has died. She was 85.

Whitney died of natural causes Friday in her home in the Central California town of Coarsegold, about 50 miles north of Fresno, her son Jonathan Dweck said on Sunday.

Whitney played Yeoman Janice Rand in the first eight episodes before being written out of the series.
