...the Grass and Rock Shaders should still work in 3DL. (which renders much faster than previous versions as long as you aren't using UE and motion blur).

AMR isn't supported by my version of So9und Forge, but you can use the free Audacity sound editor with the free FFMPEG library to enable *some* AMR support:

    Hope this helps! :cheese:

What's going on there? Is that a film crew?

AMR == audiofile format for mobile phones :)

I was asking about the image you posted. I don't know what this AMR stuff was about, I didn't ask.

This is coming up better than expected I thought, is a whole lotta 3D junk from sales over the years  Iz a composite frame so can't lose the timecode without cropping too much. Dunno what to put on the monitors but have plenty more junk to choose from. Haven't worried about skin shaders too much so far

Cool. Looks representative of real life, with all the junk around. A lot of 3D indoor scenes look rather Spartan, if you know what I mean.

surfacing is a lot of work tho, even optimising surfaces to make stuff easier is a lot of work so I guess you need the time to do it all, been at this scene a while now

...part of the reason rendering takes so long for me. I usually like giving scenes a more "lived in" look. Been nice that a lot of the weekly freebies have been useful props. Also go onto Share CG and Rendo a lot (occasionally even Turbosquid where I've found a few decent .obj freebies).

Question for those who played with the Daz 4.8 beta. My story is using AoA's camera's and grass. Did Daz 4.8 break either of those?

I, too, would like to know if it broke anything. :blank:

...the basic Fog, EZ Volume, and Depth cameras work OK, It is the Colour and Vignette effects that don't.. Something to do with changed to the Shader mixer/builder since ver 4.7 AFAIK.

You may have to uninstall and reinstall the Atmospheric Cameras after installing the .0.55 General Release if they do not work (same for the Advanced Lights).

Not sure if the flagging on the Advanced Lights (when using SSS) has been fixed or not.

Note, the Grass/Rock shaders will not work with Iray.

Thank you. I think I'll wait a few weeks before upgrading to 4.8. I think(hope) I'll be done with the story by then. Not entirely sure I could even use the Iray stuff. I have a ATI card.

You can use Iray but not as a GPU render, you can render with the CPU but it will be Slower, I gather, than if you render with the GPU.

It seems there are options for GPU, GPU+CPU and CPU on it's own.

Plus 4.8 still has the 3deligjht render engine as well

...save for creating HDRIs (don't have a digital camera or the software to do so) been doing a lot of work "under the hood" since 4.8 was released. Most of the Iray products are presets that don't require a lot of adjustment to use.

Actually I don't mind having spent the time working things up on my own as it gives me more insight into Iray and how it works. All of us pretty much were on the same playing field . Even got me into looking into the more techie stuff like the Shader Mixer as well as Iray MDL (Material Definition Language).

What I would like to see is a set of HDRIs created along the line of LDP2's Azure Skies which had multiple sun elevations for each sphere.

I'm still debating whether to buy Ninive 6. Maybe I'll buy an HD character for Genesis 2 instead.
