Agreed. I have yet to have my jaw twitch, let alone drop, so the DAZ hype doesn't raise my expectations.
I think this forum will need a dozen more moderators if NFT Phase 2 is announced. Surely DAZ are not *that* stupid?

Yeah, as cool as it would be to see some of the things people are speculating about, I'd be pretty surprised if it's much more than a new character.
When I was reading the announcement the first time, I was first questioning the "something big" in my head, to be honest. So it might be just Marketing and in the end there's a new artist being able to sell their products at the Daz store, or a new minor feature being added to Daz Studio.
But, on the other side, if it really is something big, I would bet for the next Genesis generation. They probably don't name it Genesis 9, but maybe Genesis X or so, that sounds cooler. And knowing Daz a bit, I fear Genesis X will come with no downwards compatibility...
Anyway, I am happy to be positively surprised and it is dropping my jaws, I would love that.

No jaws dropped for Genesis 8 or Genesis 8.1. They were just small iterations of Genesis 3. And each one caused incompatibility issues with the previous version that users had to overcome. G8 default pose change, T to A, and G8.1 surfaces change and expression incompatibility were the biggest consternations for me, I think.

No. 1, Studio 5, would be obvious, as would Genesis 9.
No. 6, DS 5 with Bryce 8 for Mac, would be interesting, but is probably pure wishful thinking on my part.
NFT probably wasn't such a success that Daz could try to push it again. The worldwide hype is waning anyway. However, the promise of freebie figures irritates me. Please, don't let it be NFT!
But that could also refer to Genesis 9 or something with 3D printing...
Or something with Metaverse. In this case, I just would ignore it.
There have been so many flash sales that it's almost been like a fire sale - awesome prices on Genesis 8 stuff, not just legacy versions...
...So it wouldn't surprise me if Genesis 9 is coming, then I'll be gutted that all the items I just bought are yesterday's cutting-edge, not today's, LOL.
That having been said, I find it hard to believe a new Genesis would be all that much better as to leave my current library a disappointment (it will take me years just to use everything once)...
...But, it could also be something along the lines of some sort of deal with Unreal to somehow get Metahuman working with a new version of Genesis - something like that would certainly justify a completely new Genesis range.

Thinking the same. Maybe it really is a new kind of figure, not just a character, but I've a feeling it will be something like 'Genesis 8.xy, now Omniverse ready' or whatever. Would love to be pleasantly surprised, though. On the other hand, if it is Genesis 9, there's no way in hell that I'm going through buying all that content again that I bought for G8!
Probably Daz 5. It's something big they've been working on for a while. Or maybe they're moving the store to the Ethereum blockchain!
I have the advantage of still using G1, waiting for something truly worth upgrading for
DAZ Studio 5, yes please.
Genesis 9, no thank you.
Hexagon 3, extremely unlikely. DAZ has had a beta version of the 64 bit Hexagon out for ages and we've seen no sign of a production release.
