For me, that's 1AM on Thursday morning, but...
Heaven help us all if this "big surprise" is to do with NFT's. Hopefully what ever this "big surprise" is, it is something useful but I am not holding my breath.
I was actually thinking of you could train lots of renders with a StyleDiffuser(TM)* and make your render look like any other style, like photorealistic, matisse, watercolour, japanese inkwork etc.
*obligatory buzzword
-Daz entered a partnership with a somewhat known other party, and can add a few hundred assets from that other party to the store under the Editorial License system.
-New software: Daz Animation Studio. A seperate software package dedicated specifically to creating the most stunning animated scenes.
-New software: Daz Environment Studio. A seperate software package which combines Bryce and Cararra and natively exports to Daz Studio.
I don't think it's going to be NFT's, I actually doubt we'll ever hear anything about NFT's anymore unless the NFT market magically recovers, but it seems like the bubble exploded permanently.
Looks practical..
DAZ Cat 8 or DAZ Horse 8
A new free plant.
My guess is: Genesis 9 for the linguistic reasons already stated by other
"Addition to the lineup"
Well, I have been slowing down on new character purchases for awhile. Now I absolutely will hold off until we know. I remember my shock when I woke one morning to find the release of G8 and Victoria 8.
All I ask if that is happening, is whomever creates the core characters is don't base them on real life people. Please.
Michael 8.1 is very distressing and I avoid him in my runtime like the plague.
This time a thousand year old 200 meter high tree.
I love being a pessimist, because I'm usually only positively surprised, so here's my list:
1) My number 1 pick has to be that editorial license nonsense announcement. A brand new lineup of items that you can't use anywhere. Can't wait...Jaw dropping part is that Daz fails some website database update again and nobody knows which items are using editorial license for days.
2) For new line of items it also could be Loot boxes Sorry, I meant mystery bags of course. A brand new line of mystery bags from $10 to $100. The big surprise is that all items are non-refundable and you can get already owned items several times.
3) New render engine. Just as deprecated as the last one they added. Only requirements for Daz really are that nobody actively develops it and preferably it shouldn't have any user community either. Those just prove that it must be production ready and easy to use, right? Jaw dropping indeed.
4) Underbelly for Genesis 8.1 female with brand new lingerie and a bus stop environment. All in one great bundle. The jaw dropping part is the announcement that Daz increases core model prices from $45 to $85 so Underbelly 8.1 bundle costs only $166
5) And like other people have already quessed, some actually interesting new AI gadget. The jaw dropper is that it's for PAs only.
Oh man, I can't wait to see which one it's going to be. This suspense is killing me...
There's an oopsie on google search ...
I'll guess for fun, but it's unfortunate that I won't be able to watch either. I need to work so I can buy stuff, which means no freebie for me either.
Based on how the announcement is worded, my immediate response was the next character generation (G9). But then Drip reminded all of us about the editorial licenses, so I'm kind of leaning toward it being something to do with that
On a similar note, I seem to not be getting emails any more. Is there somewhere where we can see the email (link), and where do I go in my account to re-enable getting emails again? TIA
Hahaha it's not DAZ, it's this community that creates all the hype:))) Massive respect
Subscription based and micro-transactions? That wouldn't be new. We already have that with the platinum club.
NFTs are a four letter word and should be censored.
Evee support might be fun. I didn't connect the 'day after Nvidia rolls out the 4xxx series. There might be something to that improved render engine.
Useful animation tools would, well, if they were actually useful, be jaw dropping.
If it is G9, I hope the rig is made with animation in mind with proper IK. I want Daz to be in the same league as Maya and Blender in terms of animation so badly.
Filament paired with AI, creating better renders than IRAY in seconds for everybody
I will kind of balk at buying any Genesis 9 before DS5 is released. What could a Genesis 9 possibly bring to the table before the software is updated other than having to pay for a new generation all over again?
I receive my 3090 RTX 24GB between the 19th and the 22nd... so I hope it's gonna be a great (r)evolution. 'Cos I'll then finally have some serious power to enjoy it, whatever it'll be.
Daz++!
One of the things, which probably needs the kind of support from DS that can't be done with DS4
They are announcing a new "RawArt" release....................................well, I can hope :P
That would explain the recent D-Talks release
My first impression is that the "New Evolution" is Genesis 9. BUT given the trend with software nowadays, I'm worried that the "big thing" will be making everything a subscription serivce. No more individual product purcases. Just pay X a month for 2 products, Y for 10 and Z for unlimited. Or they'll make you buy "credits" to downlod assets. I bra =100 credits. and a whole NVITWAS scene for 2000 credits.
That would be perfect. Great motivation to use all the content I already have more, and I would save oodles of money.
Probably it's G9. Even if, it's going to be a longer while before the new generation of figures becomes the most popular. There are still people perfectly happy with V4/M4, G2 and G3.
I predict DAZ will introduce a morph to drop the jaw of Genesis 8.1.
Maybe its that all users will have access to the strand-based dforce hair toolset, since PAs haven't had much success with it.
Hmmm... well, when in doubt, the answer is always...
