That should now be on all the product pages.
I'm just waking up it's around 6.30am here but that sounds like what I was getting when loading eye cards and fiber eyebrows on Genesis 9. I haven't bought essentials yet. I'm wondering is the issue with the base model rather than the additional eyebrow set?
The Starter Essentials were updated around 9:30AM DAZ Time.
somewhere i read there was already an update released for the essentials. it no in my DIM so far. Maybe I arrived to the party late so downloaded the updated version? How Do we know which is the version we are using?
Look inside the installation Zip.
I downloaded the early version at work, and the Manifest.dsx and Supplement.dsx have date/time 2022-10-19, 00:40
At home, I downloaded the updated version with Manifest.dsx and Supplement.dsx having date/time 2022-10-19, 09:36
Just had a quick look. I didn't have Character essentials just the original genesis and Victoria. There were some mats for eyebrows that came with one of them that was calling for something from that package.
It looks like the error message I was getting was because I didn't own the character essentials. So I had them in my cart ready to buy anyway so i'm downloading them now and will see if there are still error messages.
It was similar but not the same as the path was missing a file that had character essentials as part of the path. As I was buying them anyway I got them and installed them. along with the update and I'm no longer getting the error message.
the gentital morph is in this package? i dont see it in the file list.

Details
Genesis 9 Character Essentials is must-have set to create diverse, lifelike characters. With Genesis 9 anatomical elements, over 100 eyebrow options, half of which are card-based to work better in games, 32 eye colors, and 7 eyelash styles with 9 color options and separate control of the lower and upper lashes, you'll design unique characters like a pro."
The gen grafts (not morphs) are not in the file list because they are a separate item bundled with the character essentials.
thanks. i really dont need all those eyebrow and eyelsh colors and styles.
For years I bought as many Pro packages as I could. I have never used any of the characters' genitals.
GeoGraft not morph, and it should be. Most people seem to have them, but not maps to match the base textures (which I understand should be there).
Without reading the thread, it has facial hair and genitals. But no genital hair. Go figure.
to be clear, there are 2 G9 products .. FREE ..G9 Starter Essentials,
and G9 Character Essentials which you pay for ? and no way, at this time to morph the face shape, etc. or the body.
The store product "Genesis 9 Character Essentials" still (10/19/22 15:38 PDT) does not explicitly list G9 eye files or male or female G9 genital files. It only explicitly lists G9 eyebrow and eyelash files, and show pics of G9 eye files.
The "Read Me" lists everything, except for the genital files.
My understanding is that "Genesis 9 Character Essentials" must be owned in order to use genitals on a G9 figure, and that "Genesis 9 Character Essentials" is not part of the G9 bundle, nor bundled with the G9 figure product. Is this right?
Only maps available are the normals. The skin itself is 100% missing.
Eyebrows and eyelashes? Don't get me wrong, that helps when creating unique characters, but absent other morphs to help that creation process, $12.00 for 100 eyebrow options and the like seems a little excessive to me. A small fraction of those in the starter essentials, say in the low single digits, might have been useful to get early adopters familiar with what is possible with the new figure. A basic hair model is always included in the starter essentials for earlier figures, for example. The same could have been done here. However, that is just my opinion, which is worth zero or less when it comes to Daz decision making.
Can someone maybe tell me what are "Card Style" eyebrows? Are they only something to do with games or do they have a wider purpose?
They're planes with images on them, so they are useful for games, but they're also a more light-weight alternative to LIE eyebrows if you don't want to go the full fibermesh route.
Thank you!
So it sounds a bit like the old V4 eyebrow zone that fitted over the face?
If you have any charaters from Poser's Posette through all the Victoria's to Victoria 8 (sometimes!), eyebrows were created with a sheet of geometry, colored, and with a transparency of hairs to creste the look of eyelashes i.e... a card. They are also formally called transmapped eyelashes. People figured out a different way to make hair, fibermesh, which is fully three dimensional, and Genesis 9 has both. Renderers tend to like fibermesh and game-maker tend to like transmapped hair.
What is the exact name of the product in the product library that contains the Genesis 9 genitals, and does that product have anything besides genitals?
I bought the Victoria 9 intro bundle. Victoria 9 HD has shown up in DIM and my product library, as has Vox hair, swimsuits, and similar content. The genesis 9 starter essentials are in my DIM and product library. I do not have anything called 'character essentials' or similar, nor genesis 9 anatomical elements or similar in DIM or my product library. Am I missing a download package? Or am I looking in wrong place?
Good grief the poor communication by Daz is just amazing.
I am still trying to figure this stuff out myself. But it looks like the gen prop is NOT included with core character bundles anymore. The prop appears to be included in the new paid product Genesis 9 Character Essentials, which not to be confused with the Starter Essentials.
The poor communication comes from the complete lack of information relaying where the prop is. There is no PSA or anything from Daz telling customers this. The product might list it in the description, but who is going to guess that without looking? There should be some kind of hint in the name of the product, you know, like Genesis 9 Character and Genital Essentials or something. Though I must say Genital Essentials sounds too funny. So maybe call Genesis 9 Character and Anatomical Essentials.
Aside from naming, this is a really strange product. It has nothing but eyebrows, eye lashes, eye textures...and the genital props???
One of these things really stands out, LOL. Seriously, I think only Daz would do something like this. It is GREAT that the genital prop is no longer tied to buying a bundle, really, it is. That idea is to be commended. But like this? Daz basically hid the genital prop away where few people would find it. It just seems like if this product absolutely must be bundled with something else, the product the gen prop should be bundled with should be one that uses the Daz 'Mature' filter. You know, the thing you guys recently created to filter stuff and make Daz safer for work? Yeah, that would make sense. Like that kinky leather outfit in Victoria's bundle, oh you know the one, that could be the headline outfit for the bundle that includes your Daz gen prop.
Thus, people buying that bundle would probably be the type of people who might actually be looking for that gen prop, and hey look, there it is. Imagine that. Is this really that hard to do? Is it really this hard to come up with? I can spit these out all day long if you need help.
It think that makes a lot more sense than having the gen prop stashed away in a bundle dedicated to EYES. Maybe their is some kind of joke here, like the eyes in this bundle are ogling the gen props. But I rather think a number of people are buying this bundle dedicated to EYES and wondering why they have a wiener in their library now.
It's not as crazy as you think, since the eyes, eyelashes, teeth and tear attachments are listed in the Anatomy category.
Any chance we could convince them to add similar character essentials packages for Genesis through Genesis 8.1?
LOL!
In my case, I saw a product in the store with Essentials in the name and wanted to see what was "essential" to using G9. Imagine my surprise.
Correct.
Posted this in another thread, but just for completeness here's an example of some of the eyebrows. Each shape has options for angled up, angled down, high, low, thick, and thin.
I think they look pretty nice. They're visually more like painted brows, which I usually prefer the look of but which are harder to switch out. These load like eyelashes, where you select the character and then clicking the preset changes them out completely. But the card style ones naturally have alpha maps for the shape while the fiber ones are uh fiber.
Comparison of card and fiber brows. The eyelashes are the Cartoony style option.
