Let's just all wait for Vicky 11 for DAZ getting the lashes looking realistic, right?

Much better though and the bottoms look good... i'm sure with some care and attention they can be improved upon.

Also IRL many women go to great lengths to cover their real lashes, maybe we should be asking for products that reflect this?

Just went through 43 backed up posts and totally amazed at the variety of renders everyone has made. So lovely. And she looks so much like young women on the street whom we all might know, not just a model on a runway, or an actress on a screen.

On eyelashes, I like them, because I rarely, as in never, get that close to an eye to see that. But with that thickness which looks like they have mascara on (without the glops) and at a reasonable distance, they will look normal. At least to me.

@Wonderland, I haven't had a chance to even look at the makeup, since I rarely use them, but I liked how you used it. But from your comments it sounds difficult, so I hope there are instructions for 'Dummies...' like me.

transluncency is way off, but the shape looks good & I noticed all those shape and color options now too. Did you?

My concern is less the lashes but the thickness of the lids. They look wrong to me. But the eyes are great.

In fact, the lids look like an improvement to me.

Thanks. It was just a quickie, but I will explore further options.

  • I think she's great but not that great. At least not for me to start building around another character in content. I find more G8 figures more alluring. I can get past the face. Also I'd like to compare the side by side  view of the male and female settings. I also like to know the time it takes for the G9 figure to load with the double density mesh.

G9 loads super fast! Like in seconds. G8 takes me about 45 minutes just to load with all my characters and morphs!

Just wait until you got as many G9 models as G8 ones and that might change wink

  • She's beautiful. Definitely an improvement over G8 aesthetically speaking. The face is more natural and believeable as well as being naturally beautiful. I personally didn't like V8.1, very unatural looking face, looked way too barbie doll.
Does anyone know who the main artist(s) that worked on the new V9?

I think the eyelids look much better too. Much more realistic looking

The makeup seems to be made ONLY for V9! I tried it on another skin texture and it looked all wrong. The lack of different surfaces on the face is a big killer for me. I wonder if there can even be a product similar to skin builder pro for this. I almost always tweak lip and iris shaders and it's driving me crazy that there are no separate surface zones! I can see my use of G9 will be fairly limited due to this. The only thing this really has going for it, is that the eyes are much more realistic so it's good for realistic closeups, but then you need a variety of makeup and the ability to easily make lips shiny. Hopefully DAZ or a PA figures out a way that we can do our own tweaks. The makeup product looks like a very complicated script and you can't even edit colors or anything without going into Photoshop. So annoying!

After I posted, I did a google search regarding "eyelid thickness" and it seems, that real humans' lids are thicker than I thought. I take back what I wrote but I think I will make a thin morph nonetheless ;-)

Well. I guess you could use geometry editor to create your own lip surface for lips stuff at least. I believe some folks also mentioned something about using a mask layer.

Edit: and if you don't want the make up just copy the original head surface into the new lips surface... or whatever it is that you end up calling it. Just be aware that if you do this and there's an update to the figure you likely lose the surface and if you wish the change to apply other characters, too, you have to save the figure. I don't recommend saving over the existing genesis though...

I tried to make a mask and used it in LIE with 70% oppacity and blend mode overlay, just adding a color of choise in base color, and it seemed to work pretty ok. It should probably also be added to some of the other channels to chnage the gloss.

Well Skin Build Pro would have to be based on the new UVs and could be for both male & female now, quite easily.

There are many improvements and that is why Victoria 9 looks better to me

    than the previous generations.

  • Been playing around...

....first of a few renders using Vic9 expression (as is), base bikini (own textures added) and G8 hair + Vellus from Vic8.1.

No post work other than shrinking original image by 50%.

Personally I think she is the most realistic yet - eyes make such a difference!

Can't wait for additional tools / morphs etc. I would love to be able to reuse G8 / 8.1 poses in particular.
