My favorite promo..... LOVE THIS!
The bundle is pricy, but I really like what's in it. I don't know how I feel about having environments in these figure bundles, which feels like it's raising the prices, but it's good content I would have liked separately anyway.
Sounds like someone else already confirmed this, but I'm not missing anything, Mike doesn't get an alternate skin like Vickie did? How does that work out to the same price? I don't get in on the discussions about DAZ treating the male releases differently, as I think the comparisons are often unfair, but this seems like a pretty equivalent comparison, so what's up with this?
Not sure if this was a joke, but he's been released pretty fast after Victoria compared to previous generations?
Yeah, I remember when Mike didn't come out until many months after Vicky. I don't remember specifically, but when Vicky 1 first appeared it might have been as much as 6 months before Mike 1 was released ;). I remember it being quite a long while.
I know what's bugging me about the bundles now and why the buildings were sticking out to me. They did the same thing with V9 though. No additional characters in the bundles like previous generations. This makes the lack of an alternate skin for M9 stick out even more. Maybe this will be the new normal, but the new character bundles felt like more value in the past when you got additional characters for skins and morphs to add to the mix.
The price on the bundles seems reasonable, but maybe not the mix of products that would get me to purchase in the past.
Here's Victoria 9 in the Dark Assassin outfit. Woot.
(Again, SO thrilled for the easy unisex clothing stuff)
Nice render. Clothes will need Zev0's Fit Control for Genesis 9.
Here he is with my tweaked sss settings - default tone mapping - spectral rendering Faithful cie1931 -
Added a tinge of color to the translucency color channel (personally I prefer the first one) -
I purchased over an hour ago but my purchase is stuck in the "pending" state. I've put in a ticket.
He looks really good. Im glad they made him look more mediterraen looking. Kind of switched things up a bit. His textures and eyes are a huge improvement over the previous models! Thanks for sharing the awesome renders!!
I've never bothered about Michael as always considered him a bit dull; this character seems the best of the lot so far.
I was, of course, really happy for a male release.
... It saves me loads of cash.
Too pretty. Needs some ugly morphs to make him look normal.
Yep, I'm with you.
I was pleasantly surprised to see Michael 9 so soon. I still think it's a bit weird having skins that work on both males and females. They are different in so many ways. The male and female clothing is also strange. I can see numerous outfits in real life that won't work well that way.
I think Vicky 9's skin works great -
Not Michael 9, but still illustrates that some skins can easily work for both. The issue really only arises when you have painted facial hair or body hair or heavy rugged details that are painted on.
Ooooooo...nice :). Mind sharing? I still don't have the knack of the PBR settings yet.
It's been mentioned a few times, but to make sure it's clear on the last part, the weapons are available separately for people who want the weapons and not the outfits. The outfits come with the weapons.
I don't see how this is poorly handled. You don't like the second pack, but I prefer the clothes in it and have more use for it. Different people have different needs, but that doesn't make the second pack bad or wrong in my mind. The action pack even has more items.
I think he's my favorite Michael yet. I was one of the weirdos who liked 8.1 (though I don't yet own him).
I'm still messing around with him. He has pretty dark rings under his eyes, and I'm not liking the way genesis 9 shoulder and pecs work on the guys. In poses there is almost this weird flap of skin and the shoulders look strange. The way the torso and shoulder has this gap for the arms looks odd too.
I'm not sure about Mike 9. I tend to use Mike as a blender figure and this one may be a bit too distinctive.
These are actually the same settings I use for Uber skins too. Here is an example with Bridgette 8's skin -
You can tweak around with the transmitted measurement distance a bit if your character ends up with too much of a green overcast due to the 254 value in the SSS color. M9 I used .035, but with Bridgette 8's skin I went with .025.
Thank you :)
Yeah, I can't afford that. Looks like it's M9 only for now. His stuff can wait.
Two things. Inflation and Shrinkflation. Less for more. It's happening at the grocery store too.
His face shape is a much easier base to start customization with than the default masc G9, IMO--there's something about the default face that looks really distinctive to me and is hard to fully work out. I was able to get a little further updating a few of my characters; I'm actually pretty happy with a mix of Mike and Vicky's skins for this one, I just need more in the way of aging details.
I'm finding Mike 9 also suffers from "large iris syndrome" LOL. I've shrunk his irises 7.5% and they're still probably a little bit too big ;)
Sorry, I don't find him attractive. I rarely use males anyway but I have much more attractive characters from earlier generations. I still think M4 was the hottest base Michael.
First Michael that I really liked and that is why I bought him.
Have not rendered anything yet, but will.
Just bought him, not any of the bundles.
