I think that needs more testing . . .
I've never really worked with iclone, just tested a few things out but i've already got iclone 5.4 Pro, 3DXChange 5.5 Pro, Face Filter 3.02 Pro and iclone6 Pro including iClone Indigo Render Plugin and Indigo RT for iClone.
Thought i should try to work again with it.
What i like a lot on the Reallusion products are that they are so easy to use, very intuitive use :)
Genius I like real life examples of things to explain virtual technics to pepole that dont understand all that technic stuff. I just save this picture - who knows it might be useful as a reference.
One thing - you picked a nice example because the foil is square like the 1:1 UV space. My suggestion grab an edding and mark some lines on the edges of the foil and maybe shade the outer area to explain UV-Seams and the area of the texture map that dosent get used on the geometry surface.
It's a great example that everyone can relate to! It must have been hell though...
its not my idea, just shared, I just need to extensively test it myself as unconvinced, need many samples of foil wrapped confection ....
HDR Project 4 is free until Wednesday 21st (depending on your time zone)
It find it quite useful for texture manipulation or post render effect
Here my big list of freeware links, started in 2012 on united3dartist forum.

Than you very much!
Over in our Bryce-buddies neighborhood:

this was posted. May come in handy for anyone with a need to composite renders.
Be sure to look around this site as there are some other interesting tools and resources as well. For anyone who was following the recent TrueSpace modelling thread, this site has some plugins and some potentially useful links to TrueSpace-related sites.
cheers,

thanks some of his human figures look interesting too
I just discovered this free gem called Storyboarder.
Download site here ==> https://wonderunit.com/storyboarder/
Good video overview of Storyboarder ==>
Jahshaka - http://www.jahshaka.com/about/
Jahshaka has a cool name. I am now seeing what it is about?
Sorry,
new version here > http://www.jahshaka.com/jahshaka-0-5-0-alpha-release/

not tried it yet but looks awesome
Check out the motherlode for lots of models

Epic games has released $12mil of Paragon assets for free
https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/free
I am still downloading stuff, is a vast download to add from vault to a new project
but once in my Unreal editor project they should FBX export for Carrara too
you can also of course export stuff from Carrara into Unreal to render if prefered
Flame Painter 3 for free (today only) > https://www.escapemotions.com/products/flamepainter/promo/chip_sd5j.php
Non commercial license...
I guess you can't do such thing... It says "Licensed to be used only on UE4 based products"... So no Carrara or DAZ... Dang, I wanted them too!
for making a game I presume to redistribute
I doubt a render would be an issue and as I said you could always use your Carrara exported content in Unreal and render it there too
if in doubt submit a question to them but since they have expport tools and tutorials on getting into Blender, 3DSMax and Maya etc it would be most likely a non issue as rendering art does not really occur to most users of such assets and believe me there is already many questionable artworks with those assets out there.
Asking them directly not going by some forum user here on their forum best strategy
also what you do on your own computer is your own business if not sharing a render so can still play with them anyway
I did pose a question on the forum
Carrara not listed first as I thought best to go for software they know first
https://forums.unrealengine.com/unreal-engine/announcements-and-releases/1445832-12-million-worth-of-paragon-assets-released/page9
Great work Wendy! Thanks for asking that question on the forum. I look forward to seeing if you can get these assets to work in Carrara.
Should work with the temporarily free beta of Unreal Studio, being the UE4 engine but with a 3D authoring interface:
https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/blog/announcing-unreal-studio-now-in-open-beta
on the Paragon characters,
I cannot seem to be able to export the texture maps
(it is not just me, it is discussed the previous page too with a sort of workaround)
Carrara looks for the associated psd files but they don't export
the skeleton stays unattached to the mesh in Carrara too but is rigged in iClone 3Dxchange where I can retarget and animate the bipedal humanoid meshes like any characters and that of course exports rigged to Carrara albeit untextured.
I will probably try creating retargetted motions for them to use in for renders in Unreal if anything by looks using both Carrara and iClone rather than trying to render them in either as the maps seem to be trapped in Unreal editor.
If I can figure out how to solve the Matinee and sequencer camera issues I have had to date, I can render static camera avi easily enough but my keyframed cameras while I see them move do not render in every version I have tried.
I have no issues with actually only being allowed to render them in Unreal as long as I can figure out the best way to do it!
I certainly have tried importing DAZ and Carrara made content into it to render often enough with mixed results! Prior to the Octane plugin it was looking like a good alternative render engine for me.
well this is proving a nightmare
I shall be returning to Carrara and mostly DAZ/Poser content
apparently it deletes unused assets so I lost over 42GB of assets I downloaded yesterday saving my project
I did manage to salvage 32GB of it from a previous save that may or may not work in another, just copying folders over tends to not work so may be out of luck, I am really starting to hate the latest UE4
the older versions did not do this!
nasty...
it's not-so-much the data as the friggin time and energy spent gathering and organizing it all.
been there, done that *way* too many times.
i feel your pain, let us know if there are any tricks you learn to save some future souls from the same fate.

yes sort of like a cloud based idea
you add content to an existing project but it does not save if unused
is the freestuff only AFAIK
video
I am getting somewhere packaging a demo though

I can now also replace a third person player with an animated FBX import so can walk around in my Unreal Environments with collision!
so yes it is indeed useable as a render engine for my videos.
Won't replace Carrara but I like choices
