If you were using smoothing in DS then you will want to have set the smoothing to "interactive update" before exporting (otherwise the obj exporter will ignore any and all smoothing)
Fully in blender I find using it's sculpting tools the easiest to fix a bit of pokethough select the offending garment go to sculpt mode use the inflate brush and just paint on it a bit.
I guess I just don't understand what people mean when they say "hot key driven." All software can use hotkeys. When I use Photoshop or Word or Excel I use hotkeys for about 90% of what I do. There may be things that Blender can do that can't be accessed through the menus, but I can't think of many offhand. It's just much faster to learn a couple hotkeys for the things you do all the time. Just like in every other program in existence.
1. Select the leggings
2. Tab into edit mode
3. Select just one poly near the middle of the pokethrough
4. Turn on proportional editing
5. Pull that poly out a little - use the scroll wheel on your mouse as you move the poly to control how big an area the proportional editing affects
6. Tab back into object mode
Or do the reverse and pull the skin inward inside the leggings, whichever looks best for your image. The leggings are probably lower poly than the character though, so there's less risk of slowing down screen response time when you pop into edit mode.
EDIT TO ADD: Just saw J Cade's suggestion about the inflate brush and that's also an excellent way to do it, and more intuitive/less finicky than proportional editing. I use both depending on the situation.
Um, Lightwave 3D isn't 'facing extinction', from what I can see. Neither are several other 3D packages from the same era (3D Studio, Alias Maya (before Autodesk bought them), and plenty of others.)
I think these claims fall under "citation needed"....
Lightwave is NOT "hot-key based". While there are hotkeys for almost EVERY menu item, there are buttons and dialogs for them too. Lightwave 3D's biggest UI issue in my experience is HOW MANY menu buttons there are! It's a very crowded interface, and having to shift beween tabs constantly to do things in certain orders. Using Hot-Keys helps here, but it's hardly a UI that depends on them.....quite the opposite.
You can change it to suite yourself. They are also, I believe, updating it again.
I love hotkeys, and hate mouse only - it is slower. Unfortuneately I am forced to use it often as no keyboard options; Blender has both.
Ha! Yeh 2.49 was not my thing; I kept trying but just couldn't get it, whereas 2.5 was a total revelation.
Have they made it where I can undock the modeling window and put it on it's own monitor yet ?

Hold shift when selecting one of the corners of a window and drag it like you want to split that window and a new window will pop out.

The guy in the video is using Blender 2.65, so the feature has been included since 2012 at least.
Non intuitive. Inconsistence. Bad GUI. Menu items are not where they would normally be. Doesn't follow many Windows or Mac GUI standards/guidelines.
Seriously. Can't even use it on my laptop with 2 buttons because it needs 3 buttons. I can figure Daz out pretty easily. Can't even figure out how to pan, rotate, and move the camera in Blender. Had to google search and look up youtube to know that I have to turn on 3 button emulation.
There is a plus sign to add panels, but how do you close a panel? Shouldn't there be a minus sign or a menu to close the panel? Nope. Yet again, more goole search.

I tried it and I can change that window or the original one to anything I want and can pan and zoom them independently if I keep them both as camera views - they don't have to stay the same.
Do you mean that you want one window in Edit mode and one in Object mode? That's definitely not possible as far as I know.
That's kind of what I was saying though... Yeah it's way easier to use DS, and discover all it's features but that's because DS has maybe a hundredth of the features of Blender. Look at Blender's UI compared to Maya or Zbrush and its a lot more comparable in complexity. Again, yes there are things it can totally do better, but if your bar is as simple as DS that is never going to be possible because the 2 softwares are not comparable.
Those 2 examples I mention had nothing to do with features of Blender. Just poor GUI design.
Having lots of features doesn't excuse bad GUI. It's not the features that makes blender hard to use. Having a non-intuitive, inconsistence, and bad GUI just gets in the way of doing things with the program. The GUI should work with you, not work against you. You shouldn't be require to know and use keyboard shortcuts for every little thing.
In Daz I can easily rotate, zoom, move, and manipulate the camera using the little icons on the viewport with just a one button mouse. No keyboard needed. Apple Motion, Daz3D, Cinema4D all have similar icons in the viewport to manipulate the camera. Maybe Blender can add that to the Viewport. You know "features".
On the 2 mouse buttons I had something written but then deleted because I thought I was being a bit rude so here goes: Most people have 3 button mice... you're in the minority. Seting up the program for only 2 buttons would waste something that most people have. The defaults are designed to be the most useful for the most people... that said it takes all of one click to set up blender for a 2 button mouse. you then save those preferences and never have to worry about it again.
Could the side panels have buttons to pop them away... sure, no real argument there
(also which menu items are't where they would be in other programs? the meny bar is at the top beyond that I'm not sure what standards you mean)

Sounds like a bunch of excuses for poor GUI design in Blender. You can do this, you can do that. Just google search and learn it.
If you have to google search just to do simple things like closing panels and manipualing cameras, you are already off to a bad start.
Just because an application doesn't require a 3 button mouse, doesn't mean the application wasted the 3rd button. I can have a 10 button mouse and assign shortcuts to all 10 buttons. That's how many applications with tons of features work.
Why doesn't Blender add simple menu controls in the Viewport for pan, move, zoom like many other Applications that has a 3D viewport?

It doesn't even have an "Edit" in the menu bar. Everyone using Windows or a Mac is familiar with the "Edit" menu bar. Another big oversight of Blender GUI.
Here's the thing, if one is dead-set against using something or even trying it out, then that's fine. Move on and find something that works for/how you want it too. I personally find Blender to be intutive and easy to use, after I changed the User Preferences to work with a 2 button mouse, since I am using in on a laptop. However, before i first tried Blender I'd heard nothing but complaints of how hard it was and how bad the UI was and how impossible it was to use. And that put me off it for a long while. Then I needed a program that wouldn't crash every 30 minutes so that I could learn to model. And I decided to ignore the nay-sayers and I watched a Blender tutorial on youtube. And I thought, this is really not that bad. Then I went out and downloaded the newest build at the time, v2.63 and I haven't looked back since.
It works for me, and many other people. But just because it doesn't work for you, doesn't make it the worst ever. Just find something that does work for you. There's lots of free trials out there, for the big expensive softwares; or even Hexagon here at daz, that are free.

well blender does have a ton of youtube tutorails that helps a lot
The thing I hated about blender is they forced you into shortcut keys, fare enough if that's your thing. I don't like it as your eyes have to keep an eye on the keyboard and you have to have a huge memory to keep that in your head. But they are making an effort to put in toolbars and shelves like maya or modo and icons for tools, this is a big change and you may see a surge in popularity. I have my keys set to maya navigation as it nearly an industry standard, so adding the toolbars will just about get it there. It's have huge power this program but someone from other software could use it. So the resolution has begun !
Everything is in the menus. you don't have to use the shortcuts. The only ones I ever use are tab to get in and out of edit mode and ctrl-R to make a loop cut while in edit mode. And if you like Maya, you can make Blender look like Maya apparently. I've never clicked on that but it's there in user preferences under Input.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno. I like it and it works for me. I'm sorry it doesn't work or you. But considering the fantabulous quality of the products you put out I imagine you found something that does work for you.
Blender is free. That's the main thing for me. I'd love to be able to afford ZBrush and some of the other sophisticated but expensive software that many here seem to think are essential. But I can't, so it's Blender or Hexagon and I find Blender easier to use than Hexagon - and Blender doesn't crash on me. I agree about searching Google to find out how to do simple things being a pain - wholeheartedly agree - but, again, it's free so I'll Google.
On the other hand, I have never been comfortable using GIMP so I bought a very inexpensive Photoshop alternative called Affinity Photo and that suits me fine. Cost less than the latest X-Morph script for DAZ Studio and it does all the things I used to be able to do when I had access to Photoshop CS6 (at work, before I retired).
I guess it's about more choices and with the latest release of blender that's what they've done so a big pat on the back to team !
People can set it up the way they want without less restrictions !
...yeah Daz has grown quite a bit in the last decade. I can easily set up my workspace to fit my workflow. Still it doesn't handle large environments well (that is what Bryce is for) nor modelling at all (Hexagon which is undergoing a major revision, covers that base). Interesting to note both Hex also employs shortcut keys as well, it just offers them as an option for more experienced users rather than forcing them on the beginner out of the box.
Also I never got into programmes that threw in everything including the kitchen sink as they seem cumbersome and confusing to me (which is why I like Hexagon Bryce and Daz as each have their own focus). I know I probably wouldn't take to software like 3DS Max, C4D or Modo either these days either for the same reason (I call it the "Swiss Army Knife" approach).

Many others? Not in Max, Maya or Modo as far as I know. Frankly, the idea is horrible. Imagine modelling something and everytime you wanna rotate, you have to move the cursor away from the model and onto some little icon? I wanna see anyone model productivly like that. I get that people have issues with Blender UI but that is certainly not a real issue.
