Well, I'm glad you're feeling a bit better now. Don't over work that foot yet, though.

    Dana

I'm being spectacularly paranoid - walk slow, no moving more than a quick walk, no rough terrain, no going for more than 4 blocks without resting. I have less than zero desire to end up back in the E.R. with some new issue on this thing!

The ankle brace I'm using really helps, keeps the foot from moving around too much and helps support my poor, overworked ankle (It took most of the weight for 3 months, oww).

Have you been through physical therapy on it

A few visits - since I have no insurance, each visit is a couple of hundred dollars out of my pocket. :ahhh: The nice therapist lady gave me as much help, info, and support as she could each session but, hey, the money ran out and it was over.

I know the safest way to walk, how to properly use my cane, what to do if I over-exert it, What type of braces t use an dhow to use them, and lots of other tidbits. I swear at this point I could probably teach wound care and foot-related physical therapy! :bug:

Quitting the strip clubs will help me save up money for emergencies, and any more physical therapy I might need as I wean myself off the brace (in about 6-7 months). I'd * possibly* be well sooner if I had surgery, but that's $5500 (again, no insurance) and the list of things that can go wrong is 2 pages long! :gulp:

I'll possibly have a permanent limp (eh, so what) and might need the cane for balance for a long time.. again, eh. I bought this kick-ass hand-carved raw oak cane, it looks like a chunk of tree, lots of personality, strong, and the puppy will crush cans and shatter bottles! :snake:

I want a cane with flames up the sides, though. :-S

I have been the owner of a permanent limp since the early '80s. The worst part is that so many people I've known for years and see every day will suddenly ask me why i'm limping (they've never noticed before). I have tired of explaining why (2 ruptured discs in my back that took a year and 3 doctors to properly diagnose and repair surgically leaving permanent nerve damage) and begun making stuff up. The last story was that I had been bitten by a Bengal tiger. My favorite was that I had an artificial leg; they couldn't stop staring at it.

Mmph... Okay so I ordered a book for an old Gameboy Color game (And thus is out of print in most places) from Amazon. They had three left. I picked the 5 - 8 business days to keep the cost under $70, and they expected it would arrive AT LATEST May 1st.

    It's May 29. No package e3e

It doesn't have any tacking information either, so I can't see if anything went wrong with it. The seller I bought it from I've never had problems with before, and always got stuff delivered on time...
Then... I was checking my email and a newsletter from Digital Tutors mentioned some tornadoes or something in the Oaklahoma (?) area... Which most of my deliveries have to pass through ><

Assuming it's just late or something and not delayed because of that... Well I dunno.
Not really sure what to do right now. Wait a few more days then send an email questioning what happened, or what D:

    Product in question http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0761536396/
And I double-checked my shipping address... It's the same as the one I used for the last dozen orders, as well as the two books on python that got here a day early ^^

...actually had saved it before I closed 4.6 that evening (if you don't the app asks you to do so before closing). Most likely this, and the way 4.6 started up afterwards was related in some way to the blue screen event. Once I reset the UI to the setup I originally had, I tested a couple other scene files and they open fine. Still a bit puzzled by this. Wondering if I should uninstall and reinstall the app.

...wish I knew of a way to hack the actual file and remove the offending component.

If the compressed .duf isn't too badly corrupted you can just unzip it and edit it.

...unfortunately looks like it is as WinZip was unable to extract the entire file mentioning that it was corrupted. Searched for the paser numbers given by the error message in what was extracted and they could not be found so I would imagine that is around where the file was most likely corrupted.

7Zip also returns an error that the file is broken.

Kind of kills the old enthusiasm a bit for to build one of the characters took quite some time and effort using Genesis/D3 and it all will have to be done from scratch. A real bugger as it's been over a year since I came up with the idea which as I mentioned couldn't be realised on the old system.

Complaint: Wasted a day shopping (Read as spending my money) to help a family member that had no, zilch, nada inclination to get off the gravy train until the FREE support (Gov in the U.S) fully ran down to zero. They then took 100% FULL advantage of me and dropped 2 bills in that many hours. They then spent 3+ hours on my PC filling out Applications so their FOOD STAMPS would continue. I feel like such a rube now.

Hopefully all tucked in for winter, is what they call a Sheep Weather Alert day here, means you have to put livestock in the barn

...well reconstructing the lost scene. Took pretty much all evening to just get the one character looking right. Didn't quite remember what skin map I used and then had another one of those perpetual loops occur that sent the app into "Not Responding" mode while trying to apply a Silkessence texture (different clothing item than the last time this happened).

Doing a lot of intermittent saves.

This time around however I'm setting up the characters individually as separate scene subsets which I will then merge into the final scene so if for some reason the scene is corrupted again, I won't lose nearly as much work.

Well it's 01:30 and getting tired, time for bed.

New coupon out, 3$ off of a 15$ purchase good until Sunday. Have two items already in the cart.

    ...nite all.

Ah man, don't you hate when that happens? For me it's YES I got enough now, then something MAJOR in RL breaks and it's crap, there goes that money.

I am downloading and downloading stuff but I do not know what I downloaded before or not.

Kinda adds to the charm though don't you think? There is a good search thingy on Macs, I try to remember to type a few words from the product page into it first

The most annoying thing is that I do have JUST enough money to actually buy it. But... then I wouldn't be able to contribute to household expenses in most of June, and even if my SO can keep us quite well afloat, I feel like a 'orrible person for not contributing (even if I just paid some bills as we've split those).

I could, of course, buy it... and then try to push out some textures an' stuff and hope to heck that those sell, but I don't feel comfortable in doing so plus I wouldn't get paid 'till later.

At the same time, I'm acutely aware of the fact that the price of 3D Coat may go up pretty soon. Or not. Do I gamble and wait, or not. *sigh*

family member might be dysfunctionally depressed. or anti-anti-depression medication. if they're functional enough to fill out an application, i guess is a good sign.
