DAZ_Steve mentioned it in the "Genesis 9 coming next year?" thread.

I think it's also been stated on the company Facebook page and a few PAs have backed it up. And I've gotta say "Huzzah!", because I finally got the DAZ Deals apps and was horribly depressed by the amount of cash I've spent. Getting some more use out of Gen 8 is sounding like a great idea.
Hurrah indeed.
Genesis 8 does appear to have hit the current 'sweet spot', and I don't see any particular reason for DAZ to be in a hurry to abandon it. Plus the close linkage between G8 and G3 seems to have resulted in an extended development period for G3. I'm seeing new G3 characters being released over on Rendo right up to this week. And I doubt that it's going to stop on a dime any more than it has already.
Which in turn results in more clothing, hair, and other support items being released with G3 as well as G8 fits.
Which, overall, adds up to more 3rd-party support for DAZ figures total. No, I can't see them being in a hurry to give that up.
With luck, G8 might be the new V4/M4, and if it hangs around another couple of years third-party developers may fix its problems (hands/feet, muscle deformation, etc)
...Cat 8.
#40, Mr. Woo 8
To continue on L'Adair's list.... (edited as suggested by per Noah LGP)
Something is wrong, Tasha 8 (02/05/19) is missing in the list.
I don't count DAZ Dog 8 as a Genesis 8 core figure. Genesis 8 gets 40 core figures (25 females and 15 males).

LOL Only 7 that I don't have and soon as payday hits, it'll be 6. Hmmm....I think I spend too much at this place ;).

I see six, at the moment, but two (pro bundles,) are in my cart… The only male is Mr. Woo…

Well, I usually buy the gents, at least the bases. I passed on Bridget, not because she wasn't cute, but gee.....I just have so many females if I rendered one a day I could probably use a different one for the rest of the year ;). I tend to skip Thorne characters because I'm not into the fairy/fae thing and I don't really do many toons or any anime (but whatever might float your boat...lol). That's pretty much all that's left ;).

You never guess it, #41 Genesis 8 Babies are here !
Yes, but what SPECIES of babies are they? They don't represent the Uncanny Valley as much as the resemble the Uncanny Abyss. Creepy!
This isn't a statement on their quality (I don't have any experience around babies, so I have nothing to go on lookwise), but I'm planning on combining them with Growing Up and the slime & shaders to make Garbage Pail Kids. I am pretty glad to not have to go all the way back to K4 for this project (but I may make some K4 GPK as well).
In fact it's not a core figure , just a Daz bundle of Mechasar's figures.
Yeah, I didn't see a Daz Baby 8 figure, just a bunch of named ones. What bothers me is that those bride of chucky wannabees are taking up a valuable Pro bundel release slot. I would have much preferred a Pro release this week. Some like those toddlers though, so good for them. I was thinking about getting them, but then I saw some of the renders in the Genesis 8 Baby thread and something just seems off with the skin textures or something...
Technically Mr Woo 8 was April 4th, so if we are looking at a 2 Pro character releases a month cadence we still have another week or two to squeeze in another one in before the end of the month.
I wouldn't mind seeing a Chiptaur 8 release, but I'm guessing that'll never happen, although doing a Cookie and Chip 8 pro bundle could be fun if people wanted it. Minotaur 8 could be fun too...
I'm sure that others have more popular choices in mind to fill out the Genesis 8 Pro family though, and I gave up trying to second guess the Pro releases a bit ago.
Thing is that if Daz Dog 8 counted as part of the Two Pros a Month schedule, Babies 8 probably will too. I suspect it will be the first full week of May before we see another Pro Bundle.
I consider these build your own bundles of Dog 8 & Baby 8 to be pro bundles.
4/24/2019... Tika 8 has dropped
Sister to Mika 8 I’m guessing...
Finally can save some money....
It's been an expensive couple of months.

And I don't want to pick it up... nothing even remotely stands out in this offer, even with the purple banner.
Exactly the kind of content that I DO NOT need or desire. But I would like to see a CU render of her face in the default HDRI with a headlamp. The sandpaper neck bump is a fail, though.
Tika 8 is the 41th figure (26th female).
The dForce Dragon Sitter Outfit for Genesis 8 Female(s) has Kala 8 listed as a suported shape. She will probably be our next Female character.
Oh man, I wonder if she'll be a slender white female for a change!
"Kala" is a Hawaiian name like Kalea
Kalea 7 were released on May 10, 2016
OK, I'm going to weigh in on the 'Pro' figure thing again, and those babies...
I started to write this post differently, to make a case AGAINST including the babies, but here's the thing.
When a figure is named 'Figure 8' as opposed to 'Figure for Genesis 8', it's generally intended as a base figure. While I"m sure there are examples of 'Figure for Figure-for-Genesis-8', yeah generally those aren't considered to be core figures.
Following that logic the case of the babies, we actually ended up with two core figures: Tobyn 8 and Caryn 8.There is no Baby 8, although there are some pretty cute Genesis 8 babies over at Renderosity. Both Tobyn and Caryn have other figures based on them.
So, if you go with the logic that they have to have a dedicated pro bundle (not a build your own), then while they could be considered core figures they aren't Pro characters. But if you go with the numbering logic, well Dog 8 counts too.
Dog 8 has a few figures based on Dog 8, so I'd argue it's a core character at least, even though there isn't a dedicated bundle.
For context had Penelope and Simon in the Lovable Nerds Bundle, but both of those were for Genesis 3, not Penelope 7/Simon 7.
Strange note: The 'Callie and Cory in Space' bundle doesn't include Callie 6 or Cory 6, it includes Ryder for Genesis 3, and Georgy for Callie 6. I'm sure there's a backstory to that, but I wasn't a Daz customer back then.
Anyways, my point is, the Daz sales team has been VERY specific about the Figure 8 nomenclature. Only 'core' figures get to be named Figure 8. Otherwise, it's a 'Figure for Genesis 8', even though technically almost ALL generation 8 figures are for Genesis 8. So this month we either saw two 'core' figures or four 'core' figures, the latter of which would be unprecedented as far as Genesis 8 releases go.
Call it however you want, but this one's a bit murky.
