Who is Jhalil? I've never heard of this character.

Maybe the male vampire counterpart of Tasha.

Someone suggested he was a partner for Latonya. A bit late turning up if that's the case.

My prediction for the next figure will be Thudunka 8, the female counterpart to The Brute.  Picture The Brute in a bikini and high heels, and that's pretty much what she'll look like.

Still hoping for a Cat 8!

Secondary would be some good unique Genesis 8 Male characters.

I have more than enough Genesis 8 Female characters. I can't imagine why I'd buy another one at this point.

  • I wouldn't mind a She-Brute to continue the freak tradition. But otherwise personally I think a Cat 8 would make me happier than pretty much any release other than a Latino or Indian male set.

Males please. We need males. The store is inundated with females. Poor guys - so neglected ;).

I was hoping for Gianni 8 but I don’t know if a fit has been spotted,

There was a Gianni 8 fit a Loooong time ago, but it was removed very fast. Not sure if that means it will eventually come, or if it was a mistake.. but I am still hoping he will come. I'm also actually curious about jahlil

If New Genesis generation figures releases serve as pattern then we can expect G9 this June

Ever since beggining of 2018 Daz has been droping 2 new characters per month.

We already had Bridget this month so there's 1 more character to be released this month.

2 more in April and 2 more in May.

    5 chances for Hiro 8/Kenji 8.

C'mon Daz! you can do it! I believe in you!

Just make sure he has rectangle box eyes and similiar eye structure as Sakura 8

Here's a list of morphs that I think would sell like iPhones:

High class amant like Aizen from Bleach,

A man of culture like Master Kongo from Hoseki no Kuni,

Your typical tall pretty boy like Male cast from Free!

A shounen fighter like Ragna the Bloodedge from BlazzBlue.

Or a working class dude like Youji Itami from GATE

We need ophelia 8 & ophelia 8 HD addon ASAP.

Ophelia 7 HD's addons is one of the most used products in many, many commercial products.

Next figure should not be Jhalil, this name doesn't match to a Bridget counterpart.

But we didn't get a male counterpart for Latonya yet either? And with more female pro packs than male, they don't all have pairs.

Is it bad that, even though you aren't making the joke, I know what you're not saying? ;)

After the ongoing disaster that is the Bridget promotion, I kind of hope not.  I suspect whatever figure that's released next is going to do very poorly at first as peopole try to avoid getting burned again, but since male figures already have a stigma of not selling well, I wouldn't put it past DAZ's marketing people to ascribe poor sales to the gender of the figure rather than their own bad handling of the previous sale.

All that said, my guess is that we're due for another toon type variant, maybe somthing similar to Keiko.

I want another male character, too. Hey DAZ, how about Gianni 8?!

Well, no wonder they don't do well. They're up for a few days and....poof! Gone. They're pushing Bridget so hard I just might buy her hoping they'll stop ;). So, yeah, no wonder males don't sell, poor guys....

For purely juvenile humor, I want the next male character to be named Master B 8.

I'm not sure increased promotion is going to have a significant impact on sales of male characters. Some people simply aren't interested in rendering them, or children. But I'd like to see it anyway.

TBH, I think every single image I've done at least that ended up in the top row of the gallery was a male. It "seems" like more people are clamoring for males than ever before. Maybe the times they are are a'changing? *shrug*

Last year during event sales, Daz pulled the new releases down early, losing any added benefit of the event sale. People complained. This first event sale of 2019, Daz is leaving the new figure in the event sale for, it appears, the full two weeks.

    And people complain!

I'm not defending Daz, just making an observation. And asking these questions:

How should Daz present the new figure releases during an event sale, so that it receives the full benefit of the event, without causing issues with the early buyers?

Or should Daz refrain from new figure releases during the four event sales each year, (March Madness, PA Festival, PC Anniversary and Holiday Rewards.)?

I voiced my opinion in the MM 2019 thread already:

    L'Adair said:

IMO, the new figure releases should be kept separate from the event sales. The offer for buying a named release should be on a separate page and not change for the entire two weeks it's available, (like it used to be.) At least during an event sale, the free products should be one list of items from which you can choose a specifed number of products, rather than a dollar amount. (Remember when you got to choose older generation pro bundles? Like that.) On the new release sales page, the discounts for addons can just as easily mimic the rules for the event sale as be the New/Still New products in the event sale.

Trying to tie in the named figure release with whatever event sale is current, IMO, leads to the kind of confusion and disllusionment we're reading about in several of the posts before this one. I know Daz is just trying to make MM as exciting as possible, (because, let's face it, when the sale is fun and exciting, we buy more stuff!) However, when it comes to the named figure releases, a consistent offer that lasts for two weeks is the better option. Changing things up, as the event sales have been doing for the past year or so, can not only lead to hard feelings, it can train customers to "wait and see" if there is a better offer.

There are better ways to make MM truly mad, other than tying in the promotion for the named figure release to trigger additional, much bigger discounts. As for the "key" to an additional 10%, I see no problem with using the current named figure as a key, as long as it's not the only product to trigger that additional discount. There should be at least two "key" products, and as many as five.

To reiterate, the preceding paragraphs are only my opinion, and reflect the advice I would give Daz as a marketing consultant, if they were a client.

Basically, I think the new figure promotion should always be separate, expire only after the two week intro period, and have no effect on the event sale beyond the first few days, if at all, although the discounts should be in line with the event sale discounts. One exception would be something like the "key" section.

But I'm curious what the rest of you think. If we can brainstorm a reasonable idea, maybe we can convince Daz to give it a try.

(And I'm still hoping to see Cat 8, though another male wouldn't hurt my feelings, either.)

If he looked like David Faustino from the Married with Children era, he'd be perfect for this name. :D

I think the primary reason for the compaints isn't that that the offer doesn't last, it's that it's been rolled into the MM sale as one of the main offers and that the product that it affected chages with each new day, and that on many days thus far, the  te Bridget offer has been the ONLY offer of note in the MM promotion.  In addition, the fact that only the Bridget Pro Bundle has been a key item for the various sales has been a major thorn, as opposed to just Bridgeet herself, automatically cutting off the availabilty of the promotion to to those who don't actually need/or can afford the super deluxe package.

So, yes, I'd agree that the best solution is that Bridget sale should have been maintained on it's own and NOT been made an integral part of MM in any way except as one of multiple qualifiers for the Key item sales. As Egon SPengler said "don't cross the streams."
