...currently 94° (17:57 PDT) Topped out at 96° today. Summer's last gasp I guess before the rainy season starts on Sunday.
Like the local light rail system (which is restricted to 35mph in this kind of weather) guess the extreme temperatures impedes forum reminder bot performance as well.

Complaints:
Got to sleep a bit late last night and slept in until 13:00. Guess I disrupted my sleep schedule so bad over the last few days that my body said "that's it I'm getting some meaningful rest whether you like it or not."
Cable service crapped out for a couple hours last night knocking me offline (which was part of the reason I was up a bit later than I wanted to be as I needed to log off from a couple sites before shutting down).
Some people have 'bad hair days". As a pedestrian I tend to have "bad traffic days", and today was worse than normal. Took a walk to the market (too hot to ride the bike) and it seemed as if every time I got to a crosswalk, that is when a bunch of cars would show up right at the same moment. On one busy street, waited for over five minutes because the signals further off in each direction are so poorly mistimed, there were no complete breaks in the traffic (there is no median strip or safety island to wait on either just a double yellow line down the middle). Motorists on this street also routinely tend to drive above the speed limit (posted at 35mph which is still too high for a mixed residential/small storefront neighbourhood). Even the side streets seemed busier than usual and of course, most who were making turns seemed to forget what that little lever on the steering column is for ("oh geez I touched it once and a light on the panel started flashing, thought something was wrong with the motor").
Had to clean the fridge out today.
Daz is doing mid month catchup sale and even at 50% off for PC members still too broke to buy a whole lot. Had I known that PC members would be given this extra discount (no matter how many items are bought) I would have waited until now (would have saved me a few extra Zloty's).

Non Complaints:
Larder is now well stocked all the way through the weekend (for under 15$)
Have another interview coming up next week.

Or even better, like past sales that went to 70% Off on "un-new" items for the end. :)

Well it looks as if they are giving love to us PC members as all items are 50% even in the featured PA stores for the day.
Hope Noggin's is soon, he does some great critters.
Also waiting on Ness as I have the Townhouses on the wishlist. Those will be perfect for the Kensington Park district of London.
Just (finally) picked up Skies of Economy tonight. That's been on my wishlist since last November. Really nice skydomes and light sets that work not only in Daz 4.6, but Carrara, Poser and even with Reality. Saved almost 6$ on it.

Paying to apply for a job. It should be up there with poll taxes.
Received an email for another interview. There were a number of pre screening questions, fine, spent the time to answer all of them. Then at the end It mentioned I needed to supply a credit score (well a code that they can access it by). According to the instructions this is supposed to be free, however when I clicked the link and entered my personal data it wouldn't accept it without my BankCard number.
Apparently there is nothing "free" about this as I am required to pay not only 1$ up front, but an additional 19,95$ a month (plus voluntarily give them my card number). Now they say if I cancel my membership in the next nine days I will not be assessed the extra 19.95$, however, in the fine print it mentions that if I cancel, this fee cannot be pro rated so in effect I have to pay them a full 19.95 for at least one month's membership.
This kind of tactic should be illegal. as it is not only false advertising but akin to a bait & switch scheme.
I should be given the option to decline an ongoing membership on the spot, not be roped into it on the promise they will cancel it once they receive my email.
Also, I thought that is what a company's HR department is supposed to deal with, not the applicant.
That is just plain stupid. It's hard enough to find a job these days without having to actually pay money to apply for one when an opportunity becomes available.

If you couldn't back out, then call your credit card bank right away and complain about this. They will likely block it and remove the charge.

...as it wouldn't let me proceed to get my score without the CC#, I never completed it. Supposedly these three firms are what employers use to check credit scores. Had a similar issue occur when I was looking for a new flat.
Update.
Did a little investigating and apparently when I Googled the name of the company (Kennedy & Ward) all I get is a reference to an insurance agency in New Jersey. One of the services I go through is called KForce but, apparently they have nothing to do with or have a parent company named "Kennedy & Ward". Pretty elaborate I must say as the name itself is legit so I could see how it would bypass a spam filter.
I checked the link to their site they provided with a Google search and nothing shows up.
Just reported the incident to the BBB, and saved a copy to send to both my state and the federal labour boards.

Now back to complaining: Sinus pain from my right eye down to my jaw (I get it from time to time) for 3 days now. I can get it to ease off with a couple aspirin, but once the nerve is in an irritated state, it can take a week to stop the pain cycle (kinda like with a muscle spasm in one's back).
Non-Complaint: Today seems to be a bit better. Keeping my fingers crossed, and just for good measure, my eyes as well. :)
